  • I was rooting for the kid in the blue shirt to get to the bar.

  • now i will go to the parcour school :/

  • towards the end they stopped blacking out the logo on the sweatshirts

  • What I see here most of all is MEN interacting with BOYS a many of these young boys don't have role models to follow.

  • when i started doin parkour not long ago i started it up from the streets and i've advanced so much faster than my friends who practice in the gym, my theory is that if it doesn't hurt you're not learnin' because if it hurts you know you're doin it wrong and after time when it's stopped hurtin you know you've learnt how to do it properly because it doesnt hurt when you do the particular thing you were practicing

  • I wish Parkour Generations would come to my city, or at least country to spread the word of parkour( Suva,Fiji ). Probably 1 in 10,000 would have heard of Parkour here, and ive started to train myself to become a treceur and try to slowly develop parkour here :D i mainly have to work on my upper body and thighs, and im gonna tell some friends bout parkour so we can train toghether :D PaRkOuR fTw !

  • westminster is soooo shit come to richmond upon Thames bitch

  • i need to show this to my principal and the head of the athletic department, they have kicked me and my friends out of some of our training spots threatening to airest us, maybe this will give them new incite and change they'r minds about parkour

  • @thomasljbrown

You can't get arrested for doing parkour, no more than you can get arrested for running or playing football. Unless you're damaging/entering property.

  • Most of us Americans are too fat for this sport, LOL!

  • i am warming up while watching this ;)

  • truly inspiring

  • Inspiring.

  • haha i like the way you blackout Forrest's tee shirt because its an Urban Freeflow tee and not a parkour generations one, Forrest started off in Urban Freeflow....

  • Parkour Generations please come to Perth, Australia....

  • nice that is great

  • dfgdfgd

  • City of Westminster isn't a good place for young people to live. Actually, it's not a good place for anyone to live or work.

  • @ForThisDreamEfHim freedom in areas desighned to contain us. and arent u happy that kids are actually taking part in a phisical activity instead of sitting on their sofas playing mind numbing video games?

  • @Shazzashazbot i dint say anything about not letting the kids to do parkour.-_-. I only asked WHY

  • @ForThisDreamEfHim oh yeh sorry, i thought u were westminter council not being happy with kids doing parkour. and thought u were asking why kids do this. sorry

  • a toke parkour from a young boy usetay climb alot

work at it everyday u get better (Y)

  • Their secretly teaching them how to run from the police.

  • i disagree i think that yes parkour should be done safly but if you constantly do it on mats youl never toughen up to be able to hack the conrete i learnt on my own on the streets , people disagree and dont give a crap about our point of view they just say were tresspassing or breaking property it needs to be multinationalised and police shouldnt be able to tell you off or anything for doing it comment back if you see what i mean =)

  • @djparkour100 yes there are actualy only few places where you can train without being disturbed

  • loving the bass at the intro

  • parkour is using your body in ways that exeed its percieved potential... for whatever you want, efficient movement, self expression, fun and games, weight loss, body building, its your body

  • she's right when we dont care about failing

  • This lacks the elegance and complexity of its predecessors

  • i wish there was somthing were i live like thus if you do live on the sunshine coast please message me

  • I don't like this. It's making parkour become just like Karate and Tae kwon doe did. A way for young children to get their energy out. Thats not what parkour is. ):

  • Parkour can be defined in many different ways.

Lets just keep it as parkour is parkour.

  • i think you need to address this to the instructors.. i think they have a better answer to this issue.

  • @werewolfsorceror parkour isn`t some secret caball martial discipline you know. According to David Belle it`s simply a revival of the skills our ancestors needed to have back in the day, like chasing down a deer or outrunning a wolf every day just in order to survive. It`s a revival of the most primal pleasure and ability - that of movement. As a matter of fact, kids are better at learning parkour than adults simply because they haven`t yet developed the self-limiting mindset adults have.

  • @alludis yes, I know. But I'm saying these teachers are using it as a way to get energy out. How many of these children will become treceurs(SP) when they become older? It just doesn't go well with me. That's only my opinion though.

  • 1 person is a good enough of a result, parkour is a big change on a person

  • @alludis completely true ,my opinion exactly

  • Then what parkour is to you? When I started to practice it, I didn't know the philosophy of it, it just came naturally to me.

When these young people train, it's only a sport to them, but in this film I heard a lot of core values of parkour from them. I think when you train parkour, no matter why you start to do that, sooner or later you discover the true meaning behind it.

  • parkour for me is never a sport it is a way of survival like those ninja moves we know according to history

  • ?????

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!

  • where was the park at about 11 mins?

  • Are there any schools for Parkour in Canada?

  • the schools is the street

  • wth evrywhre i go i get told to move by police or security its anoyin but parkours gd to learn :P

  • Very cool you Julie, now you can upload feature-length HD videos! This looks and sounds great! It's still one of my all-time favorites :)

  • ok wth?? this vid is 28 minutes long but youtube bitches at me for a 12:00 minute vid???..

  • we should be carefull!! sorry but noone's really brought one of those gyms for young people round here so the streets is all i got

  • just wanna point out one thing.....

they said that parkour was all about perfecting your moves and not about risk or adrenilen but i think thats untrue maby for the most part it applys but i think alot of people do it for the adrenalin and satisfaction of learning a new move and doing it for the first time.

  • OMG!!

That'd be sweet if they started teaching

    this in actual school programs

  • omfg....they got taught by urban freeflow?! :O:O awesome, wish i was them hah, yeah i do parkour lol

  • i just started.

  • sweet! are you pretty good.

  • i freerun anyway even though its banned

  • omg lol i just watched it all

  • the town i live in has banned parkour/freerunning they call it vandalism

  • lol, learn in another town, then go back and train in yours....if your ok at it, what they gonna do lol? catch you? hehehheheheh

  • Super nice documentary, I really liked seeing the lillte kid doing Parkour, they were really quick learners, and dosen't had so hard at doing it, as a grown humans, that is beginners

  • i wanna learnnn

  • not easy lol i can do a bit of parkour and free running but not a lot i cant land that well :P

  • Parkour fucks your legs up. If you dont work your legs out and do parkour from time to time than you will fuck your legs up. I havent for 2 months and today they hurt like hell i barely walk... have to wait till the muscle tissue heals.

  • your probably retarded and don't know how to land..

  • You're actually supposed to work though the pain. It's not going to rip your muscles apart unless you jump off rooftops and land straight down. Squats can stop that pretty much. What kind of stuff are you jumping off of? Your legs aren't strong enough for whatever it is if you have problems walking.

  • whats with the no ball games?? i live in estonia i just wana know

  • the council is being cunts banning football and shit in streets, slapping asbos on people who do:/

  • no shit

  • there sayin all of this but when you do practice parkour police stop you andf move you on all the time and it pisses me off

  • I love them.

  • their so lucky to have forrest as a teacher, wish there was clubs in norwich aswell

  • parkour generations should consider coming back to the u.s. and help us kids out.

  • @bade210 heck yeah im 13 and i do parkour but i need some people to parkour with

  • @elijahvandagrift u gotta make friends using parkour i have loads of friends cos of parkour and ive tought a few friends parkour

  • @elijahvandagrift yeh im the same im 15 and i live in spain and here parkour/freerunning hasnt caught on and nobody gets what im doing when im running up walls and vaulting over fences. and none of the kids do it either so i have nobody to do it with :/ sucks

  • @bade210 to get fit coz ure fatties lol

  • One thing I love about this sport, YOU CHOOSE THEY WAY TO GET OVER A OBSTACLE!

I'm gonna learn this! anyone know where theres classes in Luton? I'm willing to pay, and I will be dedicated to it!

  • 25:30 thaa kid must not feel any pain

  • Hey, watching this video, it really shows me just how good tutorials on YouTube are... Like for example, the kid at 7:37, he was like, pretty alright for his age, but he said he was training for half a year, and after about a month of watching and leaning from YouTube can safely say I was much better than him (I'm not trying to point that fact out, just that YouTube is a really good teacher).

    Lol (:

  • youtube taught me the front handspring, the wall flip, parkour, and how to film good videos :P

  • no the kid a 7:37 was crap for his age....half a year and he can jump over a spongy thing bout 3/4 of his hieght? being better than him is not an achievment.

  • I didn't say it was an achievement.

    Lol.

  • this is so inspiring....

  • i know a realy good place to alot of this stuff right on a river in lasal on the dox they go so far out you can pretty muck jump to the other side that is how long the dok is

  • I've been practising in parkour around a year and a half, 2 years now and when I see the younger doing it. It just inspires me :)

  • lol if all the kids are learning this hopefully the cops are as well because whichever ever kids do fall into illegal and un-sociable behavioral are now going to be very good at dogging cops.

  • one of the reasons lots of kids are starting

  • @evelwolfjmdb

Thing is that traceurs/tracesus don't use parkour for illegal activities and/or to run from the cops. People that do that are not a traceurs/tracesus and It's shame if they do.

  • nice doc...i love parkour! but i wish where there was more to do in my city.. lol..

  • They said it all in this video way to go Forrest and Dan u guys inspire more people then u know.. Parkour is a way of life its not a just any other sport and its really amazing to see other little ones taking place in practicing the beauty of the Art of Le Parkour..

  • What a lot of baloney the stupid dialogue that the reader craps on about.

    .

if she is in favor of abolishing property law then she should go chat to her MP or some such crap and just go away; try Outer Mongolia, that would be good.

    .

They have private property there but at that location the silly thing will have some other thing to moan on about.

    favorited

  • superb))

  • Yay!

    Qk Quintin Kynaston My school.

    Woot!

    x

  • I'm truly inspired again, Thank you every much for this video..

I'm thinking of creating a campaign on Parkour for my final major project in Graphic Design New Media so I'll be contact very soon. Thanks again

  • parkour generations have really inspired me, i hoe there will be a jump south wales

  • huh.. is there away to get video's longer than 10 minutes ??... u need to pay then or what...

  • partener with utube

  • if anyone knows the song at 14:14 please message me or reply here.

  • Dear ychaz.,

the song is a musical interlude from the Rogers and Hammerstein "Lonley Goatherder" in the sound of music.

    cheers.

  • One of our young people prodcued that song especially for the documentary. credits are given at the end of the film. its called land of broken promises. Eugene

  • Absolute quality!

i just wish there were somthing like this in our area, ive tried to get it at my school but its not happning.

i live in the country so theres really no where to practise. dam!!

  • well i mimiced it the dangerous way and im better than those kids...i think

  • very good documentary! like it a lot!

  • Tahnk you for doing this!

  • 0:53 is my house lol i remember them filming

  • sorry but what exactly is the difference between parkour and free running

  • wikipedia it lol

  • originally there was no difference, now parkour is getting from A to B (not literally) in the most efficient way possible. Freerunning is getting from A to B with style and lots of unnecesarry movement

  • parkour your geting to point a to point b as fast as posible and in free runing you just run were ever u want and be free

  • nice nice nice

  • nic3 stuffs

  • Ahh, this is such a great film. Definitely one of the best to send to someone who has never heard of parkour before, and you want to show them what it's really about.

  • these videos have been of the most help to me! they give plenty of information, and are very unstructional. They have really helped me on my way with it. Thanks for the upload, and nice camera work :)

  • Yeah Nice Docu, very nice! It wil help people to understand what parkour reaky is and i think parkour realy will help against crime and kids on the streets. They have new goals, movement and fun! Great work guys!

  • This is being favorited to show the family, help them understand what it is I do.

  • I would think that if they trained the kids in gymnastics it would be good conditioning and would mix well? Just my opinion.

  • where is this

  • london

  • this is great stuff

  • Ha didnt realise this was fully uploaded to youtube. Great things being done by pkgen, long may it continue.

  • Very nice, and very true, parkour should not be interrupt by authorities because it's not a sport that we use to do bad things, it's a sport that gives you freedom and helps you very much

  • I would love for this to be aired on tv in australia this would change the view of it by so many people right now after recent "incident" that the media are trying to pin on parkour. but after a lot of effort the people part of pkaus managed to fix up the lies that were told.

  • what incident happened?

  • Good work! :)

Keep going! :) We will keep involve youngsters in parkour! In almost 2 years we have involwed about 120-180 youngsters here without any help from authorities. ;(

  • in the US traceurs is pronounced like tracers,

    like trace a path,

    Right?

I duno, it just sounds accurate,

  • is a good job for society,

that good to have those opportunities

  • you can,

I have taught lots of people,

look up tutorials and use them to teach

  • i love the fact that parkour is for everyone

  • look at all of those soft surfaces... i wish i had that stuff to learn on haha.

when i messed up learning something, say hello BLOOD haha

  • Same here.. Hehe.

  • lol me too

  • lol me 3

  • amen to that! same here

  • Very pretty! :)

  • most people i know who practice here in the states say traceur like the french pronounce it. never let yourself be limited, i do agree. parkour is my anti-drug, ftw.

  • very good

  • Pretty cool ;)

  • I wish it was a thing like that in norway .. or i wish that i was there then that happend .

  • Parkour is future

  • All of you, your state of mind is your freedom.

Don't let yourself be imprisoned by anything.

  • this is actaully brilliant, because its about PARKOUR not free running, the flow from a to b in expression movements not flips and tricks. its about emotion and freedom. not how good a trick looks. a brilliant documentary cheers, :)

  • The United States promises freedom. But its a controlled freedom. You get Rights at the cost of your natural, instinctive freedom of movement and expression.

  • There is no such thing as controlled freedom. We are not granted rights, they are inherent in every human and here they are recognized. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In concept that is a complete freedom.

In practice however, that's a whole different story. How these rights and freedoms are progressively corrupted and trespassed on by people who don't understand them. That's a modern issue.

  • People don't understand them because of the growing denial of liberty, life, and the pursuit of happiness.

The only way one could come close to achieving that is by not letting any negativity control them.

  • inspirational...i love parkour.
