Yes there is a mistake here! the recipe should call for 3 cups of sugar! I make these all the time using a lolipop stick from AC More or Walmart the long Wilton brand 6 inch is best (15.2) cm 35 pack! You won't have mold at all and you have to cover! I use a snack bag zip lock and punch a hole in it! if you have an ant problem you need to call an exterminator! Be serious! You can make fine rock candy using this method good luck and mesg me if you have any questions I have pics too :-)
