  • In my country (i live in Sweden) there's no rules like that. And we don't use schooluniform. Because we want children/teenagers to learn to go their own way and don't learn to be like everyone else.

But, even Swedish schools have problems. Only with other things.

  • Malaysia has the same problem, I do wish we would have the same amount of attention as you did :(

  • Cut my hair i cut ur damn face -_-

  • I would cut a bitch before they try to cut me.

  • and every start of term the school will call barbers and the guys have to pay $5 and get their hair cutt if they do no meet the requirements. but if they cut girl's hair, we have the right to sue them.

  • In my school, they restrict hair for both guys and girls. strictly no dying i. guy's hair basically have to be short and stuff. and girls have to tie neat hairstyles, no letting down of hair, no coloured hair accessories. the punishments are usually detentions, phone call to parents and for more serious cases, students are sent home and monitered etc. i dont get why they make such a big fuss but i'm already used to it. & girls are usually caught because of our fringe every morning._.

  • good. i teach in korea, and the kids, high school boys, are assholes to begin with. and yeah, they need to follow short hair regs. they look like unshaved crotches otherwise

  • to be honest, i think this happens in a lot of asian countries schools too ( i live in asia too), they do the same in my school- except private schools i guess. whats worse is in my country, no phones are allowed T.T

  • who cares, there are more important issues in life.

  • in my school teacher cut student hair too....

and we are not allowed to dyed our hair

  • In my country almost every secondary school (except private and malay schools) student will hv to cut their hair short! My school is that all girls have to cut their not more than 5 cm from their ear lobe and boy will have the crew cut( and maybe other school will be even shorter)! If your hair is too long then they will do something as the video shown or will let you wear a shower cap in the school until your hairstyle acepted by the teachers. Fringes cannot touch the eyebrow.

  • oh hell no if someone did that to my hair... there will be blood O.o and lot's of it!!

I am known for my awesome hair ^_^v my hair is purple :D and every girl in my school tries to copy me but they are all fails XD muahahahahahaha

  • anyone person even trys to cut my hair will get knocked the fuck out

  • เรื่องธรรมดาสำหรับเมืองไทย

  • Here at my school in England we can't die our hair and girls hair nut never be cut university the sholder must always be in a pony tail no bangs are aloud boys hair is prety much colour and no gell

  • its mostly guys mhm

  • Kwak made clear yesterday in an interview with Yonhap News Agency that he will “not just sit idle” as a crackdown on students’ dress codes and hair styles is conducted by some primary and secondary schools.

  • Here in the Philippines. It's really restricted. Haircuts must be 2x3(2by3). But as punishment they just cut the long part, not whole bunch of hair.

  • the wound on the side is unforgivable

  • Give them a break! Maybe they have dandruff or hair problems or something. That's why they keep it longgg-er -.-

  • @Weigurechincha hair problems make it shorter retard

  • also make up and nail restriction for girls too

  • So just get your hair cut as per regulation and there's no problem, so shut up!

  • oh... ugh! i'd be PISSED! and that's an understatement if someone just took a chunk out of my hair just cuz it was getting a little long. oh... i'd have to changes schools all the time or something... good God.

  • asians have beautiful hair dont do that :{{{{{{{

  • North Korea? i guess.

  • @iComeFr0mSaturnus

no in south korea and beside i live in malaysia and we get that too, and in some school girls must have short hair provided they have a cert saying that they take up ballet. private school may be less strict but if your hair gets too long they will give you a warning

  • OMG Are you serious? I want to go to high school in Korea. And quess what I got long dark brown hair and curls!!! What are they going to do to my hair?

  • @VK27SM8IY14love they are gonna rape your hair, thats what will happen, if someone would try to do that to me i'd freakin shave that persons eyebrows, his/her whole head would end up bald and he/she would probably lose some teeth as well, im just saying this cause i actually like my hair, i dont like it if ppl try to destroy my hair :S

  • @tidus1336 yeah, dude, I totally agree with you. These bastards, assholes, and cunts, in the position of "authority" think that they're doing students a favour by imposing all this retarded, restrictive shit, when in fact, all they're just doing is trying to please themselves, by seeing students in hair that they think is "appropriate". By rights they shouldn't be doing this bullshit, they should respect the students and not impose unnecessary restrictions.

  • @hakukashi I think they are just jealous of someone else's hair cause it looks better than their own hair xD

  • @hakukashi

its called discipline, and its what schools in many countries do, exp the shaving hair part but you are still required to have decent hairstyles to school

  • @Selina4061 discipline? dude, that's wrong, there're tonnes of ways to teach discipline without taking away the personal freedom of an individual. Restricting hairstyles do NOT benefit the students in any way, nor will it make them better individuals. All the school authorities have succeeded in doing is just changing their personal appearances, NOT their attitudes. Moreover, restricting hairstyles is NO way to make students respect them, on the contrary, the students will HATE them.

  • @hakukashi

well, it benefits to the school, allowing them to have a neater appearance will give a better impression on others that's why they do it, not because of anything related to attitude. some school wont even allow you to wear any accessories to school even earrings unless it related to the religion then you don't have to follow them. I've been through that, and i know how much we hated it, but we couldn't voice out and that became a normal lifestyle to us when we went to school.

  • @Selina4061 sorry, i still can't agree, because, you see, what's "neater appearance" to the authorities may not be so with the students. The authority has a different viewpoint from the students. In other words, the authority is imposing their views upon the kids, and thus there's the conflict. I feel that as long as the students aren't involved in REAL indisciplinary cases like bullying, ragging, and extortion, they should be allowed to enjoy a youth without unnecessary restrictions.

  • @Selina4061 continuing from my early reply, but don't get me wrong. I agree that kids need some discipline, and that schools need to have rules, but imposing dress codes or hair restrictions is really going too far, it's just too much control. Too much control is like oppression.

  • statements defending this dumbass rule like "it's for discipline" and "so that students don't get distracted by their hair" are really, really stupid. The first two statements are freakingly baseless, absurd, and the only sound like what extremists with third world mentality would use.My God, I'm amazed at how those retards defending that dumb rule can come up with even more dumb theories, and make hair out to be so evil and taboo...hair is beautiful and natural, don't condemn it assholes! D:<

  • This hair rule is probably the stupidest of rules ever. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a hairstyle you want, it's a matter of personal choice.By imposing such retarded, dumbass rules like this, it only serves to make the students feel really constricted and suffocated, and it feels like the authorities enforce this crap only to please themselves.Such rules should be abolished. That way, everyone will be happier.

  • OMG if they try to cut my hair i will give them the peg asus kick right to the face until they fall to the floor like a soccer ball

  • I'm really surprised by the obedient students they have in Asia. If this happened in the US, they would rebel and sue the teachers until they're penniless. But the US system of respect isn't very good either. At my school, the students are always harassing the teachers, and some times they show acts of violence towards their teachers. In a perfect world, everyone would respect each other.. but no corner of this earth is perfect.. so eehhh :|

  • u should complain to nigga kim jong illllllll......he dig funky hair i'm sure!

  • how do i do that with curly hair 0-o

  • @nathanielbrat1

if u have natural curly or brunette hair

they MAKE SURE YOU STRAIGTEN AND DYE UR HAIR COLOR BLACK.

    and then they cut it.

    how nice huh?

  • @missdbsktvxq wow the curls get all the girls but i think i will find a "FREE" school but i will prob not even go there because of my mom :(

  • how horrbile...

  • in my school some of the lads hair are past their sholders and some of them have it in reds and purpels lol but their not alowed to go to shaved off which i thinks wrong but the teachers can only give d.t till it gets sorted. dont have corporal punishment so if they do owt they say bi to their job and then its harder for them to get the same job in a diffrent place .

  • Happens in lots of asian countries.

  • If girls can have long hair, why not guys?! It's stupid and foolish to cut their hair in school anyway. I think it's more of a distraction for the teachers than it is for the students and the teachers are just causing more trouble. Let their hair be the way they want it to!

  • @XxSockmonkeyxX

    nnono

girls cannot have hair longer than 3cm below their ears

girls also earn the same punishment its just this was from an all boy's school.

  • its not just korea, alot of countries do this. good think i moved to canada ^_^.

  • they do this in china still, some schools wont allow nailpolish or anything,

  • ahehehe.. i experienced that wen i was in high school.. hahaha..i remember the days.. our guidance councilor is the one who cuts the hair for those boys who got a long hair..and luckily im one of them..nyahahaha.i got caught about 3 to 4 times already..that was really embarrassing guys specially in front of your crush.(T_T)but that was a long time ago..and my nightmare is over..now? i can do whatever in my hair..

  • Why? For what?

  • their poor,in my school here in philippines our teacher says they will cut the boys hair if their hair is already long, but its only a joke so they will get scared,so when the next day comes all our male classmates have short hairs..

  • stupid school wont allow such hair cut,,

korean had the best hair cut of the world

  • Kids in singapore has this too. they hire barber to come to our school each term and guys who were targeted has to pay 10 bucks for thier haircut which i think is nonsense?? cutting the hair is still fine but paying 10 bucks for it??? they not even professional .

  • This is so stupid. Let they be hot xD

  • Wth. I know you have to respect your elders and your teachers, but if someone tends to put a scissor on me to cut my hair I totally would protest and even go to the police for that..

  • not cool

if a teacher did that to me i would punch them in the face

  • i would so rebel against that and make sure they never lay a finger on me.

  • this is why my mom came to the U.S before i was born caue in her days it was way worse! but im a girl! but i think they also have a limit for girl :P though

  • what about the girls? do they have a certain hair limit?

  • x.X Oh my i would die if I was a korean boy xD I would want to keep my hair long! =| It's a shame that they do this...

  • I thinks thats NORTH KOREA!

FUCKED UP PLACE in the world. lmao

  • I'm from Indonesia.

Most of schools here also have rules for long haired boys. Some of the teacher cut their hair if they insist or being stubborn, but not that much.

Though, in this video is worse. >__>

  • so...the males can't have long hair but the females are required to wear those skimpy, teasing little school uniforms? what the hell sense does that make?

  • shoot if somebody did that to my hair all hell would break loose. if that happened in my school there would be a riot.

  • damn those teachers and their rules.. but anyway if you're a high school student i highly suggest just follow the rules coz maybe when you get in college you can look for a university who allows hairstyle ^^ (it also happen to me during my high school days LOL)

  • I think my country is the best not that other countries suck but... coz the teachers doesn't cut their freakn students hair! hooray go Mongolian non strict school!!! But if u get bad grades the teachers will beat u up lol!!! lucky that I'm in USA:)

  • Id Like To See Someone Try Cut My Hair Off ^^

  • how about for girls?do they do the same thing with them?

  • Leave d korean schools alone.Hey,i live in Malaysia & we have worse rules than these. All girls(in public schools) have to tie up their hair,no long fringes allowed & some boys even get their head shaved by teachers.Asian ppl r strict, wat can u say or do?Rules r dere for a reason....deal wit it...

  • wah biang...

  • do guys in korean school cannot keep a long hair??

  • only old generation teachers does this, its begining to change with the new generation teachers

  • not really last time i went back my cousin told me that it's still the same now

  • if you want long hair, you need to keep it clean and neat. if you let it look bad, you don't have the right to complain if they want to cut it. you should maybe get a flattop crewcut, then they will leave you alone

  • damn...we asians have the coolest hair too...fucking old retarded 'authority' figues lmao

  • they are stupid that they just stay and let the techers cut theyr hair they should fight back or at least run ...

  • i live in england and im so glad i have the right to blue hair ^^

  • woo ouch! american kids might hav beaten those teachers up a long time ago

  • damn=O

    this sucks!!

    theyre so conservative..T_T

i would freak out if someone cut off my hair like that...0_o

  • PWNED

    Lol , Just Move >___>

    If its Possible

  • I'm from Malaysia and this is what they do in my school too! urgH! It's so stupid.

  • LOLx frm what I know, some ppl get scared whn d teacher said if u dun cut ur hair we will,, so most of 'em cut it in d barber shop instd of lettin teacher....y'knw they s'pose to b teachin nt cutting ppl's hair..=|

  • macam banggang kan ? aku ingatkan korea x de mende2 bengap gini ..

  • Is this still going on? This looks awful. In the USA, it totally depends on what your school decides to do. There was no dress code for guys at my high school, but for girls the dress code could be pretty strict. It depended on which teachers you had if you got in trouble or not.

  • it's on 2007?

    lol,now their change...

  • That sucks....lamee.

  • duh...so whats wrong with it.........

  • keep it clean!

  • if someone tried to buzz my head i'd kick their ass

  • OMG o.O (shocked)...im a malaysian, but my school teacher never did that to their student...oh my lord o.O..some of my friend coloured their hair too, but the teacher just told them to remove it, and if the student didn't remove it, the teacher didn't do anything...

srry if my english very bad '=]...

  • im filipino and back in my school the teachers also do this..not everyone though. when its time for sudden haircut inspection...and shoes inspection(should be black not rubber shoes)... the guys hide in the girls bathroom... LOL

  • That is such bullshit. they are going to have to cut their hair in a few years anyways when they join the army.. they should let them grow it long while they can.

  • 厳しいんだね

  • I'm korean. and, i also do not want to cut my hair! It's so ugly!!!

  • its ok to have long hair in college school but in High School its not...but if they cut it just like that its better to be kicked out of the school than cutting my hair...

  • if anyone tried to touch my hair i'd punch him in the mouth.

  • Samson had long hair. More importantly, Jesus had long hair since it was normal for Nazarenes to not cut their hair. Check the whole Bible before quoting it please...

  • For ladies, hair is not much of a problem. So long it is neatly tied up, and fringe not covering your eyes/eyebrows (depends on school, different school have different school regulations).

  • Hair length is restricted in Singapore's schools too. But definitely not cut by teachers nor teaching staffs. The school will call in barbers (malay uncles) or what you call it, hairdresser to school. And you shall have your hair cut one by one. And pay $10 after the haircut. And this is for guys only. But thank god, it wasn't as detailed as what it is shown in this video. Eg. Not more than 7cm and etc. (I find it totally ridiculous!)

  • Thats soo mean D:

  • this is also happened in Indonesia...

  • wtf?! that's so bad!!! its abuse!!

in our school, boy with long hair is stricted then teachers will cut it.. but not definitely cut just trim!

  • so something soooo incredibly simple as hair can lead to a punishment?? its ridiculous.

  • why not jsut rebel and beat he shit out of the teachers... i would've done that, sure i would get into big shit but at least im standing up for what i believe?

  • its so EVIL!i am a student in the Philippines but when my classmates (boys) is long, the teachers cut it but only a small cut...not like in this video!

i think this is ABUSE...for us students.:(..

    so sad.

i hope it isn't going on anymore..

    i'm lucky cause i'm a girl.

  • omona~!

    i feel pity for those

    students been punished~

    but they really should

have followed the rules to prevent

    those things from happening

and @ 2:46 i think the teacher have gotten

too far cutting the student's hair~

look at that it's sooo... ummm weird~

  • They did (and still do) this in a lot of places to varying degrees.

    It must suck. :\

  • here in philippines the private schools..do this act too.

but the TEACHERS never cut the boys hair like that....for me its so irratating and embarass.....the teachers here will tell the boys student..that they will hve a cut..if they dont the clearance will not be sign by them.....that the way here....not like that...

  • almost all schools in the philippines do this act. mostly, even i am a victim. my teacher shaved my pubes omg! anyways im lucky cuz my scholl allows long hair bwahahahahaha!!!!

  • yah yayh....so what school r u???in phil..??

  • is this still going on?

  • lol my school in philippines still do this. Private or Public...students must have short hair (for guys) and no color whatsoever hahah

  • @Putas101 now its not allowed right?

  • my school also like this

australia... although they dont cut it for us

  • LOL My private school is worse

The ok chart isn't ok it shouldnt touch the ears or be spiky

  • it's funny^^

    it's a good video...

    but,,,not true,,,,

because many korean students have wild hair style,,,including my son^^

also, in korean, teachers can't punish physically anymore ( about 15 years ago,,it was banned)

but they do in korean dramas for more fun^^

  • thats true i just came to America from Korea a yr ago and i am a high school student

teacher isn't that stict about hair styles anymore

  • oh so they dont physically hurt students anymore? thats a relief bcause i watch alot of korean movies i was wondering if thats how it is in korea..

  • you can't ,,

it is just drama^^ make more dramatical^^

but long time ago, yes! teacher could do it

anyways,,don't get info from you tube,,^^

  • this is not true^^

    i am korean

it may be ,,,30 years ago,,,

    if you don't believe me..

    go to korea^^

  • haha! same in my school! Im singaporean btw.

  • aww man this just blow.. like at least give me a guy who can cut!

  • so if your hair isnt cut the right way the teachers pulls you out of class and puts a big ass bald spot on the back of your head?

lol thats what it looks like

  • lol pretty funny actually. i used to go to middle school in korea and at the time they had strict hair codes. i've heard a lot schools dont do that anymore. its funny that people make such a big deal out of this like its suppose to be shocking but it really isn't in korea. yeah, i've had my share of punishments, sometimes harsh. but i bet you ask any korean who graduated highschool and they'll laugh looking back at it. its just different culture.

  • Yeah .. it's freaking annoying to watch this kind of stuff. Like is having longer hair going to make you do badly in school ? (Plus long hair IS the fashion now big time in Korea). I really like Korean culture .. except High-school life. It's torture. Not only this but studying until 2am, being publicly humiliated if you do badly on an exam or are late for school. Teachers are basically God in Korea.

  • the logic is that you don't have to worry about your looks when you go to school. i actually kind of miss the uniforms there because when you go to school you never have to worry about what to wear haha. in other words, its just less distraction from school work, and it teaches conformity and discipline which are important values in Confucianism. i agree they go a little overboard with enforcing, but i think its also wrong to completely ignore the benefits altogether. and yes, HS there is hell!

  • Well, I never said anything about the Uniforms, I see nothing wrong with school Uniforms, my problem is with the hair because it's taking it way overboard. If you ask most Koreans they say the same thing. My boyfriend is Korean and I've heard more than enough horror stories about high-school life there. The least they can give them is the freedom to do their hair the way they want. You need SOME form of self expression. Hair is really personal = it's not clothing, it's a part of YOU. ---

  • i totally disagreed about cutting hair in school or anywhere~

when CAT official comes to cut my hair!~

geez there are lucky i'm not Explode!~

when i explode geez don't care about there face anymore.

    i'll break there face!~

(Just let them what they want to be!~

maybe some korean like to have long hair or what so ever they want.)(to make their selves

comfortable and makes them have there self confidence)

  • i dont want to study in korea....hahahah

  • non asian ppol will never understand... thats discipline for us asians~ they cut it weird so that we'll remember...for sure they remind ppol to get haircut b4 they cut it... only in asia...hahaha

  • the funny thing is it looks neat at first, then teachers make them look like street brats or just retarded hair and is worse even more. Nice brains there... *sarcastic clap*. (Even if it does force them all to be skinheads, stupid)

  • i duno what action has been taken so far, but since it seems to have affected so many ppl i suspect not much has been taken. If this were done here in aus(unlikely to that extreme)ppl would have cried out instantly and it would have been attended to, and IF NOT, students would have taken matters into their own hands,i kno 100% those teachers would of got knocked the fuck out and told to grow brains. We're people, not sheep who should just be sheered and look the same ina flock, we're individuals

  • what the fucking teacher that is................you son of the bitch

  • WHAT threaten to take legal action if they cut your hair! dont the student parents complain to the teachers? call the school boards! report if on the newspapers and shame your school~!!!

  • Didn't you read? 75% of the schools have official hair restrictions. This is standard school policy.

  • what teachers dont carry electric shavers with them.... well if they do.. only in korea~

  • It makes sense. This is a very Confucian thing to do. School and education isn't just about textbooks and exams, it is about acculturating people into society. You need to make people walk the line before they know how to walk it themselves.

You could ask "who gets to decide what line people need to walk?" but the fact that 75% of the schools have the same type of hair restriction means that they are all on the same page.

  • i agree. the culture is so different that many people do not understand korean schools, and i understand that its difficult to understand. sometimes I wish the US schools would teach some discipline into some of those idiots. anyway, traditionally in korea, when you send your kids to school, it means that the teachers become the parents until they get sent back. its the teachers duty to punish students when they deserve it. personally, i'm against this whole cultural pussification. spoiled brats

  • THIS REMINDS ME OF 'ONCE UPON A TIME IN HIGHSCHOOL;(Korean Drama)

"FUCK ALL THE SCHOOLS IN KOREA!"

  • this is only for like those engineering schools where nonsmart koreans go

  • styling ur hair has nothing to do with ur performance in school

so fuck all those schools who restrict students to do their hair the way they wanted

    i support u guys

  • ........AKA "LIVING THE LIFE YOU WANT" means to join a gang and use drugs, tat could cause a prob.BUT YEAH>>>> i will support this korean student rebelion.샘님들~ ! 쫌 봐주새요~!!^-^ㅋㅋㅋ

  • damn, thats fucked up...why does is matter if ur hair is long or not ur there to fucken learn its not a fashion show....they want everyone to be the same theres no individuality.......n america isnt boring its how you make it....i dont get it u rather get beat in korea because ur hair is too long than be free to have ur hair anyway u want in america n live the life u want....well its alll cool if u wanna be a follower...good luck.....

  • it does kind of matter because i shows respect of yourself and your elderly surroundings. i also disagree to the hair cut rule in korea and the harsh punishments but you shouldnt say that america is better then korea ,ok individuality is great but(in my opinion) stayin close to the surounding society can decrease the level of chrime rates and other bad physical and mental habbits.also if a person's individuality AKA .........

  • yeah im from philippines too ,

but the teacher use only scissor not razor

its fuck if we did it with razor

  • I`m in the philippines and this also happen in our coutry.... were very lucky though cause they only cut the side parts....

  • evne tho its strict, korean schools are fun, i wanna go back so much, i miss korea so much. america is too boring, not just school but just everything.

  • But it's changed now. Boys can have long hair.

  • Yeah, my boyfriend is South Korean and he said he had to do that when he was a high school student. But he said the kids in the video were lucky, he had to keep his hair even shorter then they did. He didn't like it, but he had to do it. He said the administration thought short hair made them look like better students. Plus, all boys have 2 years of military service to look forward to before they're 30. You have to have your hair suuuuper short for that.

  • i hate that we have t keep our hair short. >:[ some ppl wnt 2 grow out their hair, but at least we can bend the rules at our last year at school. :|

  • thats friggen gay

im goin to korea this summer and helping at a school and if i see that happen im going to rebel like crazy

  • ...some of those guys' hair isn't even that long.

  • wow korean teachers are fag, lucky im living in a free country.

  • OMG for teenagers at that age there clothes, hair looks is really important. For like dates and everything wow my KOREA HATING POINTS whent from 91.86 to 102.03

  • ok the cutting the hair was bad because they purposely mess it up but to physically punish a person for their hair is inhuman and ridiculous. I can't believe this happens.

This is unbelievable. That in this day and age we are "punishing kids" for their hair. If they are good students what does it matter? ugh makes me sick.

  • It amuses me greatly how Asia is like the oldest civilization known, but they can still preform such barbaric acts.

    Kinda like massive contradictions.

  • What seems "barbaric" to us, may not be "barbaric" to them. We might see it as a cruel punishment, but to them, they couldn't give a crap and I bet half of the students also couldn't give a crap. What they do is to teach discipline and order in the schools.

  • Uh considering there's about a butt load of videos where Asian KIDS in these schools posts these and are extremely upset by these acts proves it's inhumane and abusive to them too. Uh there are obviously SEVERAL people who care believe me, but turn a blind eye it's fine. Beating a kid, punching them and kicking them and worse is not the way to teach discipline and order it really teaches them to rebel against school and you can't trust those in power.

  • How is it inhumane? It's part of the culture, it's a competitive country that wants only the best. And they just happen to find it suitable to beat kids, it's not just Asian countries there are schools around the world that has this kind of punishment. Just because U.S. schools does not beat their kids for misbehaving does not mean all those other schools are primitive and inhumane. It's their culture.

  • Dear Aznland: IT'S HAIR. GET THE FUCK OVER IT.

Someone's hair cut/syle doesn't have anything to do with how they learn or behave in school.

It's so creepy when people in Asia all look like clones in school.

  • Thats one way to get them to cut there hair.

Jack it up for them, then they will have to get it cut.

Some of them were pretty JACKED UP...lol.

  • yep. my parent's had their hair cut also when they were students. It's to keep orderliness and etiquette in the classroom.

  • At a few schools I went to (here in America), we were restricted from wearing certain color combinations and accessories. Part of this was because of gang-related issues; however, it also interfered with the students' freedoms.

I don't agree with it... But I also don't consider a big deal either. Of course, this is merely my own attitude on the situation. I can relate to both sides of the issue.
