  • THE WELDER IS WORTH A THUMBS UP :)

  • Those rods look pretty big, you should maybe try some 2.6mm or even 2mm rods, I reckon you would get better results, and it would be easier for the young fella to learn with. He'll probably be over stick welders by xmas and be begging you to buy him a tig..

  • @MrFuriousG trust me that is the rod thickness u wanna use i tried 1/16 and it burns to hot/ just acts as a cutter instead of welding it

  • hola si lees mi mensaje te pido que me ayudes hice uno pero no me responde como el que muestras en el video espero em digas en que me equivoque porfavor te lo agradecere mucho ok

  • You do realize you can an electrode holder and ground clamp for $20.

  • @Txbassmaster96 yeh i know but i was trying to keep my total cost low

  • @warnematt haha 0 likes so far!!!!! guess what they are there for your help

  • After spending days researching this setup on YouTube i have come yo realize that the amps and volts entering the machine is most dangerous, after passing first mot volts drop approx to 40vac and amps go up to 40 or so,not so dangerous, then after passing second mot vac drop to 20 and amps go up to 80 or so,even safe to touch electrode end and ground end with both hands, the way i see it,if everything is boxed in safe and made good, casings of mots earthed to power outlet then good job! well done!

  • I dont know why should experiment with it hes Brother should know it is dangerous big i never had transformers like that i would like to have 1or2 now

  • @shortyjk95 how do you PM on here?

  • @Eskimo1399 you privite message by going to there channel and hitting "send message" wow sry but thats a dumb question

  • @shortyjk95 how did you come to learn such thing? This to me looks complicated, i was thinking about doing it but since you said the insulation is a problem, im a bit iffy, what if you just insulated it a bit more with some electric tape? Would that shut down the magnetic field, a no no, or would this help keep peace of mind?

  • @Eskimo1399 ok im gonna pm you cuz my exlaination is to long for comments

  • ok, so the secondaries attach to one another? Secondaries are the 10 gauge. Why couldnt anyone make there own home made scratch transformer, is there insolation that needs to be considered, like the microwave transformers have to offer?

  • @Eskimo1399 the secondaries do have insulators on them, the wire is called magnet wire and has a very very thin coat but for what your using it for you need a lot of insulation cuz they can get hot, no you cant make your own transformer cuz there is a specific magnet field that is generated by the primaries and the secondaries pick that up and transform that into the voltage and amps you need (depends on how many wraps you put on the secondaries

  • why let kids near any type of welding equipment never mind home made un tested equipment

  • @scottishmale1970 first i bet i knew more than you when i was 12 so i wouldnt be talking, i prob couldve wired a house when i was that age so yeh STFU

  • @scottishmale1970 fuck you.

  • im a professional electrician. i wasnt "trying" to be smart i know what the hell im talking about and have the degrees in electrical science to prove it. just because you put them on two different circuits doesnt mean you wont still burn your house down.

electricity is nothing to mess with

  • @hellrose1228 ok i can get a paper that says i have a phd in how to make noodles. my separate circuits are big enough to handle the amps so no my house isnt gonna burn down. also if your telling me to not mess with electricity, then how come your a "professional" at it?

  • @hellrose1228

I am sure the inurance company will deny any claims after seeing this video.

  • @Harmonlisa haha i know right

  • props for being creative but wow are you guys trying to kill yourselves? you accidently strip one wire while wiring the transformer and you could cause serious injury to your self or someone else. Let alone blow a circuit in your house or burn the house down. i'd rather spend the little extra money and get a 110v harbor freight welder for $90.

  • @hellrose1228 nice try at trying to be smart, first if we did strip a wire on accident there is no way possible that it could shock us, the transformers are grounded so they can short out but cant shock us in anyway unless we obviously touch the 2 ends of the welder which would be stupid. also we put it on 2 separate circuits so we dont blow a breaker.

  • @hellrose1228 its not about the 90 $ for a welder....

  • @TheOffPowerZero no its not, but how much is your and your family's safety worth

  • too many annotations, annoying as hell.

  • @staticincanmore they are there to help you because people like you would ask. what the hell is the primary. do i need this orange wire, whats this etc

  • @shortyjk95

    Really?

Asking me to subscribe/comment/talking about your cam quality/apology for mower/etc... Are all things I would ask about if they weren't plastered all over the screen? I dunno about that.....

  • @staticincanmore yes really they are there for your help. since your watching it that means you wanted to know how to make a welder and most peolple dont know what the primaries secondaries this wire that wire and how to wire it etc

  • @shortyjk95 explane it step by step in the vid girl... no need to haste

  • cut the weld on the laminations and pull the secondary off whole the add you secondary and re-install the laminations

  • Try to keep your arc stedy

  • @MAGGIFUCKER is bad then now im weld like a pro with it =D

  • good welds for a beginner with a home made welding rig.Btw you should try 1/16 inch welding rods, they work verry well with low amperage welders.

  • @windoes98se already did... that was the first size we trying and its too hot for the metal, it acts like a plasma cutter lol

  • the voice of this young teen is absolutely crap.

  • @CocktaiLMolotovX how so?? and how is it crap i dont get it

  • Serious, serious willpower right there... Cant get more jealous by now.

  • Wire them up in parallel, you will get more current.

  • @Electrodudeify sorry to say but your wrong, you wont have the voltage and amps you need having it in series gives you the amps and voltage you need

  • how much did it costed you?

  • @haveyouseenhim89 about $30

  • who the fuck film this video, a dog????

  • @julianthrash2 yeh she did, she was a puppy then thats why its so bad...

  • i wouldnt do this to save money but anyone learning to weld could use this as a great learning tool. one thing though for practice the hardest thing to weld with is coat hanger. if you can master welding with coat hanger you can weld with anything. good job fellas i wish i started welding as young as you guys.

  • @smileynirvana2 it actually works a lot better than A LOT of people thing!!! Also I have never tried welding with a coat hanger so now im gonna go try it!!!!

  • @cameramonkey2 lol sorry about so many. at the time my editor didnt allow me to do anything but now i have great editor as you can see in my newest videos suck as airsoft fails, and silencer best on youtube

  • I can't seem to trust your instructions, mainly because your voice sounds like your 10 years old.

  • @MPRdrummer i was 12 when i made it and im now 15m, i still have the welder and i still luv it!!! it works great! =D do you want me to do an update video on this welder so you know it still works

  • HOLY FUCK! ENOUGH TEXT BLUBBS????lol anyway, sweet im hoping to make one of these

  • @ismokewead420 ikr sorry about that but i had to bcuz otherwise people wouldnt understand it and get pissed bcuz they dont know what parts are what on the transformer

  • from where did you get the transformer

  • @Mr71seventyone1 it should say in the description but anyways i got them from 2 microwaves, just go on craigslist and search microwaves and should should be able to get them for really cheap

  • CAn YOU MAKE AN IED TOO?

  • @xrggn maayyyybe... (yes)

  • is it a normal two transformers or a microwave tramsformers?

  • @mrFadiabbas1 i used 2 microwave transformers that i got for $10 a peice

  • aw jeez dude, you drilled that shit on carpet! never get all the slivers out ....

  • @TheSuperFungus the reason we did it on that piece of carpet was because we didnt want to scrap the primary wires and risk a short curcuit :)

  • @shortyjk95 Fair enough, getting shocked can hurt a lot. Been there, don't want to do it again..

  • @shortyjk95 Fair enough, getting shocked can hurt a lot. Been there, don't want to do it again..

  • How Thick Copper .. how many mm ??

do not speak English I am Brazilian,......... hug

  • @brunonock u type englsh pretty good

about 2-3mm its 12gauge wire so u might need to do a little research to see how many mm it is

  • there is no positive. wall power is oscillating

  • @JD8853 alternating hence AC

  • you guys are playing with death XD.

and it seems like he has let you take one of his pawns.

  • As long as your secondary windings do not feed into any rectifier component(s), you get alternating current out from your alternating current in. There is no continuous "positive" or "negative", as in a battery-powered circuit. You mention this direct current feature, but don't offer any explanation as to how you arranged for it or how you determined the polarity in your secondary circuit windings.

  • hey shorty can you draw the wiring diagram of your micro welding machine coz i want to make one i dont know the wiring can you specified the wiring . and men you have a nice video .keep up the good work

  • @boholhunter29 if you stay posted i will make a video this week for you on how to wire it and then put a link in the description :)

  • Xclen't vid.Thanx for posting.I guess by now you are getting pretty good at ur beads. They prolly look like a stack of nickles.

  • @rocknrolldaddio yeh depends on what im welding, if i care about it or not lol

  • he sounds like a damn kid he might wana wait 20 years to be a welder.

  • @kc5cxu Practice makes perfect. I'm sure it took you years to gain that amount of douchbagerdness

  • Hello, I'm sorry but I'm not sure how to hook I'm in in series! Could you please help me out? An would it make the welder any stronger if you hooked 3 transformers in series? Please email me and help me figure out how to wire them in serious email me at brandon21984@gmail.com thank you and am lookin forward to hearing from you. Thank you

  • @BrandonJ21984 Series is positive to negative and positive to negative so what u do is get the negative from one transformer and connect it to the postive of the other. Then use the remaining positive as a ground clamp and remaining negative as your electrode holder. Adding a third transformer creates too much current which i very dangerous so dont do it

  • how do you know that your primary can take that current? and also won't the transformer heating up reduce its lifespan due to insulation melting? thanks

  • @yesschembri no not really, we used wire that has good insulation and that is also why we have the fans that push in cool air and push out the warm air

  • god you dont know much about electronics but um ya it dose matter what way you wire the transformers and you should have used a thicker wire but it looks like you got lucky with the wiring of the transformers and put the hot in the welding rod and the nutril in whatever your welding that's pretty important

  • @MrStemkilla u cant use thicker wire because you need 20 raps per transformer or it wont work also duh it matters what way you wire them what i was saying in the vid is it doesnt matter how you wire them because you can use a multimeter and find out what is + and what is -

  • @shortyjk95 eh i broke a good multi meeter with thos and it was no fun.... step dad bought me a new one...way better... and it dose matte rif they arnt need and wrap around eachother it alters magnetic feanld and you losse qwite abit of power... you have 2 transformers.. you dont need 20 wraps each and hears a little help the thicker the wire and the less wraps and more wraps on the non modified part = higher amps ... and you use more amps than voltage in welding like that

  • i think like 8 gauge should work for that and not get hot.. you should put in a 15 amp breaker in the box so if it trips you just reset from there not your house with a 20 amp breaker.... in AC there is no + or - its hot and neutral sorta the same but its more of a safe thing because neutral is safe to work on and hot is not... its easier to get shocked with AC ... just so you look like you know more about what your talking about in the future

  • @MrStemkilla ok for the second part but you want a certain amount of amps and volts so the less amount of wraps means more amps and you dont want to many cuz itll make it not powerful enough, just saying but when i made my welder we were researching it for about 2 months

  • @shortyjk95 see all you really need the volts for is for keeping a contact but amps are what melts the metal meaning you can have a tun of amps and like .5v and weld like crazy ive seen it done but that welding a clan serface to weld rust and durt filled places you need only like 15 v and a tun of amps idk how mutch that would be i dont want to do the math and to get more amps you literally use a ticker wire and wrap it less times i mean you can make a welder out of 1 but 2 is better

  • Whats with all these 12 year olds making welders?

  • @GnarlsGhashington first of all i was 13 and now im 15

  • i dont get y everyone fails at getting the secondaries out

i got it out in two pieces, u jsut hack saw one end off clean, then u pull out the thick wire that goes around abt 4 turns( this gives u wiggle room) and u wiggle the rest of the secondary out with some rod

  • @hobomnky Thats what i thought. Little Children doing these things= Little Logic

  • @lordaboveall dude i have more knowledge on stuff like this than you think, i have been building things since i was in second grade, and i recently fixed to jetski's and i have rewired these small transformers for cameras

  • @shortyjk95 I bet u i have more knowledge than u and i am ur age, ive rewired houses, built cars, built a workshop, i do professional welding, im taking a course on mastering woodworking, i have built computers, ive been driving since ten, i own atleast $1000 to $1500 of tools not like the cheap shit u were holding and best of all, for the car audio jobs i do, i get anything up to $600 in a day. SO LICK MY SEAM. Ur not special

  • @lordaboveall oh no im not saying i know more than you what im saying is some people think im a complete dumbass but i actually know a lot of stuff about engines cars guns manufacturing engineering etc.

but i would love to be able to work on cars!!!

  • @shortyjk95 I Get U. Just Keep doin what ur doin and u will get recognised

  • @lordaboveall ok thank you

  • @lordaboveall congradulations you are a professional mexican

  • @madmen2347 Shut the fuck up u cant talk and fucking spell, maybe i should weld ur mouth shut

  • @lordaboveall yea but at least im not a professional mexican you better shut up before i call border patrol by the way i looked at your videos and you sound like you might have down syndrome you might want to go to a doctor

  • @TheWorks26 I aint mexican and u must be fuckin dum to think that. Ur so fuckin dum that u dont even know what Down Syndrome is. I love the way u spelt everything correctly cos u have google chrome u fucktard and i would hassle u on it. BTW Down syndrome isnt when you always look down

  • @lordaboveall you must feel like a fucking idiot because i dont even have google chrome and i said you sound like you have down syndrome not you look like you have so go fuck your worthless queen and get your disgusting teeth fixed

  • @TheWorks26 U talk so much bullshit it is so funny. I can imagine it now, ur mum givin birth to u in a strip club and squeezin so hard that the first time a lump of shit came out and then u and she couldnt tell the difference. Also u see where u pay to go to the Doctor or Dentist, I get it for FREE and bcos of that my teeth are perfect. Ur jus one of those pricks who make a U Tube acc just to talk shit as i c u havent got any vids but seem to talk shit a lot

  • @lordaboveall Yo mama so ugly when she joined an ugly contest, they said "Sorry, no professionals."

Yo mama so stupid she thinks taco bell is a mexican phone company

Yo mama so stupid she put paper on the television and called it paper view

so suck on that and you cant weld for shit only if you knew who you were talking too

  • @TheWorks26 I love the way u look online for cusses u fuckin bell end. Ive heard em many times and seriously their bull shit.

  • @lordaboveall ok nice teath

  • @TheWorks26 I cant stop laughing at the fact people hate u. They like my comments and flag urs as spamm. SNM and if u do, ur just tryin to recover from the verbal beat down i just gave u

  • @lordaboveall dont make me weld your mouth shut

  • @TheWorks26 ur 1 to talk you should fix your teeth and learn how to weld you amateur

  • @madmen2347 I respect u cos u know what a Triumph Stag is.

  • Woh... 1000 wraps around the primary? that doesn't seem right... The primary is for the incoming power (120v) so it actually should have around 120+- wraps of wire on the primary side. My transformer is a 4000 volt transformer. so on the seconday side it has about 4000+- wraps of very very thin wire. Oh and I forgot to mention, there is actually nothing wrong with my welder (welder"s" now haha) I found out. It turns out that the sockets I had it hooked to were only capable of 10amps b/c breaker.

  • Yeah i had my research wrong... taken from instructables...

If the secondary has more turns than the input, its output voltage is higher.

OUTPUT VOLTAGE = INPUT VOLTAGE * (# OF 2NDARY TURNS) / (# OF PRIMARY TURNS)

Our primary has 100 turns and gets connected to 100 volts AC. We're winding 20 turns on the secondary, so we'll get about 20 volts out.

The available POWER STAYS THE SAME regardless of what the output VOLTAGE is.

POWER (WATTS) = AMPS * VOLTS

  • hey how much welds can u get before the mots get hot ??

  • @KRAYSLiCK999 quite a bit if you dont stick but that is why i have the fans to cool both transformers

  • how big input Amp and how big breaker in your home ?

  • @alfareifaldy its on 2 different curcuits cuz i don't have a 220volt 40 amp breaker in my house

  • you mean REMOVE the PRIMARY NOT SECONDARY !

  • @LUCKY4908 no you REMOVE THE SECONDARIES

  • where are the diods for the plus and minus pole?

  • Please can you send me a diagram of the circuit with the amounts of turns and diameter of wire shown on jason.14m@gmail.com

thanks a lot looking froward to build one

  • @djjason9993 hey sorry i havent sent you an email yet i hope to send it to you hear in a week or so cuz right now i am really busy!!

  • Did you use the plug-ins from the microwaves to power the transformers

  • @1BorderPatrol1 yeh i did but put each transformer on a different curcuit unless you have a 220volt curcuit

  • @shortyjk95 how do you check to see whatb one is + and which one is -

  • @ford2high u use a multimeter

  • I didnt get the part about drilling thru the core, why not just use the output of the first transformer into the input of the next one?

  • @benmatheny151 because not all have outputs plus if you used it as is, it wouldn't weld because of the power. You need a curtain amount of volts and amps to weld, the original wiring has to many volts and hardly and amps, so that is why you need to rewire both the connect the wires. (ps wiring them separately is easy then both at once) anymore questions feel free to ask

  • I can get your idea about what to connect. In two words..the are such things as pull and thrust if you ar speaking about coils. By cheking voltage you can see if coils are connected right. Just read about pull/thrust.

Anyway it's cool that you are interesting in such things.

  • @TheSliekaStyle well thanks but i somewhat already know about that...

  • Em..dude..AC don't have constant postive and negative

  • @TheSliekaStyle OMG EVERYONE READ THIS, YES I KNOW, ac doesn't have constant power cuz it is an alternating current (ac) but yes it does have a positive and negative the big is negative and little is postive (outlet on wall)

  • @shortyjk95

So you are telling that AC doesn't have constant positive and negative, BUT it have. That's interesting.

Dude..that you have one bigger hole in wall socket isn't new law of physic of electric.

  • @TheSliekaStyle i know that the bigger slit thing in the wall isn't new

but ac has positive and negative put the current of electricity isn't constant because it is ac (alternating current)

which means it isn't a constant flow of electricity like dc is (direct current)

  • what kind of rods do you guys use .......cause i just made one

  • @808sexified we use 1/8 inch rods (DONT USE ANY OTHER THINKNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) 1/16 inch burns through it and 3/32 doesnt even work

  • sorry i commented before but i dont think it worked....anywho.... you are amazing. i cannot believe how smart you are for fifteen. can you tell me how and what materials i would need to make such a thing. i love to make things myself but i am not afraid to ask for help in how to do it

  • @willkilthau hey thanks

I private messaged you the stuff you need

  • dude.....you are unbelievable. when i saw how young you were it blew my top!! anyway you could send me the instructions and materials needed to make this thing?

  • dude make anuther vid with more detailes on how you wired the darn thing

  • @butterfly91188 ok ill do that for all of you once all the snow is gone=D

  • @shortyjk95 thx m8

  • you gusy are luck you are free with freedom

  • and the ground is usually the negative (minus, cathode, -)

and Vcc is Positive (plus, anode, +)

and why is a kiddy like you playing with 220Volts

Thats VERY VERY VERY DANGEROUS DUDE

  • @web1bastler you don't relise how smart i am- i am 15 now and i can build pretty much build anything if i can get my hands on the materials

  • but you have no rectivier and so you would have ac and not dc with + and - you have only ~ and~

  • Ok I built one but mine is pulling 20amps 220v (immediately took out the 16amp breaker) how many amps is yours pulling?

  • @toxicproductions100 sry for late response but it is because your breaker can only handle 16 amps so like i said in the vid i put mine on 2 curcuits so it doesn't blow it

any other questions ffell free to ask plz dont forget to sub =D thx

  • @toxicproductions100 I worked on it with him. We are running on 2 DIFFERENT CIRCUITS because of the amperage problem. We were running on a 10A and a 15A curcuit. It should be fine right there, because the 10A was also powering lights inside the house. The welder outputs around 36V and ~100A. Our amperage gauge on the multimeter wasn't working, so I have no idea how many amps the welder draws.

  • can i use any other transformer or only microwave transformers can be use.

please can you make a better diagram, or show the one you made with shorter wires so i can see the hook up bro.

  • Yo shorty, the vidoe is great ,but how do you wire the thing.

  • @SuperYoukhan you take the positive end of the one transformer and connect it to the negative end of the other transformer that is it if you want i can make another vid of how to do that just

  • cool i want to build one,ive already got one mot (800W) does the other mot also need to be 800W ? anyway how many wats are your mots? Please reply!

  • @toxicproductions100 no it does not because you are going to change the wattage in it since your are changing the secondaries =D anymore questions feel free to ask

  • @shortyjk95 do they both have to be exaktaly 20 volts because mine is 16 volts

  • @toxicproductions100 you should have a little more wraps for more volts, but it may stick a little more than mine if you don't add more wraps

  • my outlet is 220-240v AC and only dc power has + - AC power reverses direction so its ~ ~

read on wiki searth on google for AC ( alternating current)

  • @sprogdiklis well ill tell you this some ac stuff has + and - but NOT ALL and yes there are 220- 240 volts outlets for welders

  • Comment removed

  • AC power doesn't have + -

  • @sprogdiklis tell that to commercial welder builders cuz they do plus if you didn't know your outlet on your wall is 110- 120volts ac and one is + and other -

  • U r awesome man

  • I think it should still work. Now instead of about 1 volt per winding ill have about 1.2 volts across each winding. Does this sound right?

  • okay so i was making one but i have a problem. when i tried to drill out the secondary winding the drill bit slipped and tor up some of the outside primary windings. so i removed the damaged primary windings... but now i only have about 100 primary windings. Will 100 primary windings still work? i should have around 120 windings because the 120 volts but will this still work? thanks.

  • @ebaum1000 i am not sure exactly but if it isn't short curcuiting then it will work

  • @shortyjk95 So far so good lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @thecactustree what u said makes no sense... the number of tursn on the primary has nothing to do with how many watts i can give

  • hey guys! if you turn 1 coil into secondary it gives you a volt?

  • @rjpatapat yes about one volt so 20-21 raps = 20 volts -1 +1

  • thanks from this video to me

now im working my homemade kart soon i upload it in youtube. thanks alot.

  • where can you buy thats transformer?

  • @rjpatapat you get them in microwaves

  • the wire has naked or no? plss.. answer.

  • @rjpatapat The wire you wrapped should be insulated 10gauge with preferably the highest heat toleration you can find.
