Sorry LiveInLight10, but this is by far and away the most common CRAP that dribbles into the ER & yes, most of these people have Medicaid... an ER visit is free to them so.... might as well! It is the vast MINORITY of Medicaid patients that DONT abuse the system. Walk a mile in our shoes.
this is so wrong...My Husband and I both work and still use medicaid. There may be some people who abuse it, but not most. This is a waste of time and resourses. This is an abomination to the medical community and makes doctors and nurses look bad or makes patients seem scared to be seen by them if God forbid they should have medicaid because we don't make enough money to pay for your light bulb!
@lazymandude Thank you, it's no fun....some of us out there have real CHRONIC conditions that have serious ACUTE ermgency situations and like me, before I was aproved for Medicare had medicaid. I paid a premium for it but it was a huge blessing to have. My family would have suffered in a major way had we not had the Medicaid. As for Medicare I have heard the reimbursment is not that much better, but I am paying more so I think it evens out some how.
@LiveInLight10 i know how it is to deal with chronic condition and expence it is with out medicare and these sadly are people who make er trips alot more difficult for ppl like us with chronic health problems when we finaly give in and adimit and go to er
