I saw one drive by me in a small town I lived in as a kid once. Me and my buddy were riding our bikes. It was the loudest car I've ever heard (and my neighbor had a stock car he used to race all the time). We heard this thing long before we could see it and we stopped like what the hell is that!? once we saw it we just stared at it. I guess he saw us because he just stomped on the gas when he drove by. It was like being at a metal show, you could feel it in your chest haha. Awesome car man!

Old man had a Hertz franchise when I was 13. Whenever someone would check in a Shelby he'd disconnect the speedo and take it home for the weekend. Great memories of that car. One of his mechanics "Red" got nailed for taking one to Englishtown track and racing it.

bigger engine i believe, and they stopped 350s in 66 and 67 was 500s, but im not so sure, i normally stick to the base model stangs and the fastbacks... so dont quote me on that bro

They made '67 and '68 GT350's along with the GT500's. They arent as beautiful as the early ones but ok i guess.

I forget to mention...them 2 models are black with gold, pretty like yours is! And other is red with gold. Love them Hertz cars. Oh and i got brand new Magnums 500's on my Mustang too, looks way sweet i think. Them cars sure can eat up the money in your wallet tho, cant they? My '66 is from southern Calif. The seat backs are "burned" from all that sunshine you guys get down south. Kinda hate to reupholster them, like that "original look" I do agree with jammer, thats one bad Stang you got there

glad to see you got that bad Hertz car back on the net. Id die to own one. A person used to, even in the 90's, be able to afford one, but not now. They are most over $100,000 and up to a smooth quarter Million bucks in Hemmings anyways. Guess ill have to settle for my '66 Coupe. But i do have 2 die cast metal '66 GT350 Shelbys...from the Franklin Mint. They both are in covered model display boxs too! Got a black one and a red one. Just wish they were real! Guess i can dream tho huh? Keep It!

@bigredcan I got me a signed 2008 Shelby Special Edition 427 GT500 Super Snake...got #51 of 427 made. Its a bit bigger than the rest of the die-cast Mustangs and GT350H's i got. Its 1:18. Nice red with black stripes. He signed it and also wrote the 51/427 on it,

Is that the orig cam? Sounds deadly. The hipo 289's have a lively tone. Have a replica of one of these things, (in a zillion pieces) so good to find footage of a Hertz.

It is a 3/4 race Sig Erricison cam with Spintech dual mufflers running through 3" dia exhaust pipes coming of Hedman Headers. engine dynoed at 371 HP. Matching # engine by the way so we don't want to blow it up!

This is an original Shelby GT350H with the original matching # 289 engine. The cam is a 3/4 race Sig Erson cam. Edelbrock intake manifold with Holley 750 cfm 4 bbl carb. Hedman headeers with 3" dia pipes and dual Spintech exhausts. Dynoed at 371 HP. All original Shelby engine parts in storage.

Thanks for the info, got a nice combination there. Good thinking with the orig Shelby bits. 371 horses would make a nice little St rocket in that light body. Have a # 289 A code 2+2. Plan is to get a 5 spd behind it, for those open roads. As the plan goes.

i'm a mechanic at hertz here in hawaii and now we got the new shelby gt-h mustangs...they are pretty bad ass i mean for a rental car and all....i'm a honda guy but i wouldn't mind owning one of these things! nice cars and nice sounding

I would reeeeeeealy like to know how's the exhaust st up of this car. it has the best v8 sound i've ever heard!!! has it any muffler? or is it a direct pipe?
