  • lol i probably wasn't born when this came out. >_>

  • who is that beautiful man in the video?

  • DESPERATE.

  • A smoker lies about the money that he stole and a dope dealer never tell you how he got his gold. LOL!! Back when our music had meaning to it. I miss the 90's

  • tell me that rapper?

  • @Afanlynness I don't know exactly who she is, but she looks a lot like Monie Love... Don't you think?

  • I still love these girls. Can I get an album ASAP.

  • Summer 1990, baby! I lived for this song. Bought the -- wait for it -- cassette single with my allowance.

  • The "Funky Divas" were at their best in this video.....

  • TLC was a verry good female R&b group as whell. So was salt n peppa

  • I so miss the 90's

  • this was the song that made me go out and get the album... err, rather beg my parents to buy me the cassette. LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Been watchin' this video so much & just now noticing the apple & the snake; or paying attention to it rather

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! THEY HAD NICE SONGS! I MISSED THEM! I WISH THEY ALL STAYED TOGETHER! THEY HAVE WONDERFUL VOICES!! THIS IS MY JAM!! IM STILL A FAN!!

  • Luv the beginning of this song! Luv the entire song. Luv En Vogue PERIOD!

  • they transcend all colours with their music and class and style, they were never cheap trash.

  • THIS IS MY SHIT!!!! FCK EVERY NIGGA THAT DID ME WRONG!!

  • IT's not hard to make another En Vogue group. You have the Formula right here. All you need is 4 lead singers that can hold there own, have very good range. Boys To Men was the same way. I like the way they broke this song up like they did with other songs en vogue did.

  • @BlackPepper B2M Def. had a lead-singer; Wanya.

  • @xGOSSIPGIRL95 Wanya wasn't the lead singer. I don't think..LOL!!!

  • @BlackPepper yeah u cud say he was because he had lots of lead parts, and his voice was so distinctive

  • @wozniacki15 Yeah you right.

  • i love how they let all the voices shine from one song to another.

  • En Vogue, classy, need I say more.

18 people are tell lies and are devils in disguise.

  • En Vogue, classy, need I say more.

  • i love this song the best

    'lie

    ' song ever

  • i was soooo upset that this version wasn't on the album..i found the cassette single some years ago and nearly hurt myself trying to get it!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • @GoogleMobile what will happen? @lifelock 6722

  • classy.quality.

  • omg, i really fancied dawn, i was a boy when this come out....

  • There are no female group out there TODAY, that is as good!!!!!! AS THIS GROUP!!!! THEY DIDNT HAVE TO GO ON american idol OR talent search THIS IS TRUE Talent !!!!!!!

  • This was the 90's when women cared about their image. now they are just accepting anything. maybe because some of the mothers can be their big sisters....

  • Im stuck on this song right now!!

  • One of the members looks just like Hillary Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. And the other looks like Holly Robinson-Peete.

  • this didn't do that well in the UK,not a bad tune, although i aren't sure who is who on the video!

  • @Amandamoo73

If you pause at 1:50 that's Dawn, Max, Terry, and Cindy. I believe Cindy is the tallest so it's always easy to spot her.

  • Who's the rapper

  • cindy look like hilary banks

  • @loanme2dollarz lol yes she looks like she could be karyn parsons sister.

  • Awww . . . How's everybody doing this morning? #Save #AB

  • love dawns vocals thats her hittin that high note throughout the chorus/song

  • @wozniacki15

Actually, that's Terry's vocals throughout the song. She has the 5 range octive and always hit the highest notes

  • @jaccezzy but at :47 u can see that is dawn singing it, if it was terry they would show her singing that note

  • @wozniacki15 ..It's Terry....I've seen them perform at a very small venue right before the song was released, and they sung it in this vid remix style - Terry did the vocalizing throughout the song. Even without seeing her, you can tell it's her vocal. ..........In videos any performer can portray vocals since they are lip syncing, but in this case on the :47 Mark, Dawn is simply vocalizing "Yeah" right before she goes into her line vocals. :-)

  • @daretosayit i think they both do it..

  • haha we lie bout our hair and ya know we got a weave haha tell em debbie T!!! :)

  • Love these girls they and the song was it for me but nobody can touch Christina Aguilera

  • @jdalton2760 what doe Christina Aguilera have to do with this? Did she cover this?

  • @sweetuth99 Her name is Debbie T and she's from Oakland

  • @DadaDoris debbie t is sexy too

  • i love this <3

  • i love this

  • Alicia Keys, Melanie Fiona, & Ledisi are real singers too! Beyonce' is a singer too, but she lacks the soul for me, like you said, she's a performer. I'd probably take her more seriously as a singer if she was able to wear non-revealing clothes

  • @awarren92 Monica is a true singer as well. We still have a few true singers out here putting out music, they're just not getting enough shine in the industry

  • @MrStillStanding Oh yeah, how could I forget my girl Monica?! She's the epitome of real R&B...I don't think she'll ever switch it up for pop & I love her for that.

& I love Letoya Luckett too

  • STILL CANT B TOUCHED VOCALS LOOKS AND SWAGG

  • I needed this song.

  • My favorite girl group of all time. Cant no one touch 4 females that can all hold it down with singing lead. You hear all their voices on a regular throughout all their hits NOW THATS TALENT!!!!!!!!

  • Is that Maxine at 3:36 singing that powerful note? Wow

  • @slurrrpee no that's dawn.

  • @drtash21 No, it really is Maxine. Check out her face on the clip :)

  • @slurrrpee yes it is Maxine Jones singing that powerful note at 3;36---You can look at the video and see its Maxine.

  • @body2078 sure is maxine......love dis group....everybody can sing...all lead singers

  • all LEAD singers.....beautiful divass

  • growing up we used to say in stead of using lies as alibis "using lies to steal french fries" lol .....kids

  • Lieeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssss

  • @googleresearch priceless. #all

  • we lie about our hair and we know we got a weave

  • i was born in the early 90s n grew up to real music and singing, now its like the definition to singing has changed. its all computer or annoying. compare rhianna to this n see what i'm talking about :( i miss the real stuff

  • high school days i love the 90's

  • Very Nice!

  • I have to say that En Vogue was the absolutely best female r&B group that had came in the music industry. There were no main lead singers for us to focus on, (like beyonce from destiny child) they had class, sex appeal, and extreme vocal talent, that kept them in their clothes.I dont think we will ever see another group like this again, and if they are out there, someone tell me somethin

  • @sdavis197 TLC & En Vogue are both #1!

  • @sdavis197 AGREE :)

    greetings from Indonesia~

  • @sdavis197 En Vogue & TLC.

  • AHHH. I love music from the early 90's. I wish it were still this way.

  • CLASSIC!!!! What happened to music that spoke to the soul?!

This was out when i was in the 8th grade....WOW memories!

  • This wasnt the baseline i remember .. this one is more on the "hold on" side but it still knocks. there is another version... both very good

  • I miss this type of music

  • En Vogue equals perfect harmony and every group after them where cheap imitations and yeah i am talking about you know who

  • En vogue equals perfect harmony every female group after them where cheap imitations and you know who i am talking about.oh expect TLC they where the real deal to.R.I.P Lefteye

  • Terri and Dawn were definitely the hottest out of En Vogue!!!!!

  • @ SydVicious2000: I agree. I LOVE 90's music. Ol' skool period. Music is not music anymore. Every now and then you get a glimmer of hope. lol

  • Wow this takes me back.. I was 3 when this video came out but sadly music has gotten worse instead of better

  • 16 people are liers!

  • Man this is the best music of all time. The now a days music ain't got anything on this.

  • I so love this song En Vogue shut all these half azz fake groups down love them :-)

  • i luv them!

  • they are Ladies, just enough sexy and class without the trash.

  • These girls are top notch in my book. Please check out my video live with them and rate. Thank you much. PS this is my fav envogue song the original version though.

  • These ladies HAD IT! TRUE TALENT!!

  • Yes Sugarstack, they all could blow. Especially on "Part of Me" These Ladies are exactly what the name of the album says "Born to Sing" a classic!!!!

  • I remember this album when it came out a friend of mine had it on cassette I believe. The thing I enjoyed about this group was that all of them shared the lead and you knew they all could blow equally. You can tell which members in some groups are not as vocally strong they tend to put the stronger vocalist on lead in most occassions. That person normally goes solo and most of them have pretty successul careers but not in all cases.

  • Great song! takes me back!

  • How do I come across this version of "Lies"? I can't stand the Album version. The music is different, this ones so much better.

  • @Crystal21ification Maybe check like iTunes or Napster or something for the remix version... This version is also on En Vogue's VHS for their first album, I THINK. But I know that it's on their VHS/DVD for sure. :-) Hope this helps.

  • They whole album was the bomb.... They just don't come like them...

  • That's the truth..devil in disguise..God does not let a liar tarry in his sight...we should be the same....but if you're married to the devil...that one is a little tough!

  • ..... i live my life a different way!!!!!!

  • Man this song was out long before I was born... but my father always played it when I grew up and people thought I was a weird kid cos I didn't listen to Asian music but this never gets old.

  • I Love How Max Hit That Note Towards The End Lol. Ugh I Miss Them!

  • Isn't there another version of this video because I saw this almost a year ago and it was more like Refugee's Ready or Not and or New Edition's Hit Me Off...about people being under surveillance...

    ???

    The lyric's are great though

  • @aaishasmusic1963 Are you sure you're not thinking of En Vogue's "You dont have to worry" video?

  • @ninetiesbaby10 OOOHHH, I think you're right..they say "no fear...you don't have to worry about a thing"

Thanx that's the video I am talking about

  • @aaishasmusic1963 LOL...youre very welcome!!!

  • these girls are so beautiful, music like this makes me so glad i grew up in the 90's..... especially when I hear what's passing for music today.

  • i like this song its for all tha players who keep playin

  • These vocals give me chills...............

  • @naynay73 I AGREE... VOCALS LIKE THIS IS GOOSE BUMP WORTHY!

  • wait, I'm confused, is terry the one that is singing "USING LIES" after Cindy says her last line? Or is that Maxine, I ALWAYS get them mixed up. 3:36

    Also, who is the rapper?

  • @trippyboi91 yep thats her

  • @trippyboi91 The one that belts "using lies" after Cindy's last part is Maxine then Terry comes in 3:56 with "Na na na na"...the rapper is Debbie T...cant think of anything else she's done.

  • Wow, you mean there was actually a girl group out there in which each girl was given equal opportunity to showcase her talents. And here I was thinking that what makes a good girl group is when the manager of the group makes absolutely sure that his daughter gets all the shine while the other girls are stuck being her backup singers. Go figure.

  • @ccbs82 I agree with and love your comment!

  • MAYBE THAT'S Y I LIKE CINDY...CUZ SHE FAVORS WHITNEY(MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SINGER)!!!! LOVE EN VOGUE

  • @jonippy24 Thats what i said she look just like whitney with that wig and whitneys my all time fav..

  • The part on 2:45, Dawn's hair is shakin crazy!

  • The best female group of my time and i'm 44. They combined everything beauty sound fashion, they were the best and a great look.

  • @DUANESKEE Say it again!

  • why do i know this song? I'm too young to know this song. lol

  • @svelvetnoose Good music is timeless. Most 90s music is like that, as is with the 80s. I'm nowhere near old enough to remember, but I love music from ABBA, KC & The Sunshine Band, Parliament, etc - All of which are from various decades I know little about other than their great, timeless music and lyrics. En Vogue is in my list for 90s :)

  • l luv 1:53 - 1:56

  • Cindy always looked like Whitney Houston to me.

  • @buttaluv10 yeah i was like is hat whitney lol

  • @buttaluv10 OMG i thought it was just me.. lol I said if whitney and the girl that played hilary on the fresh prince had a baby it would be Cindy lol

  • @buttaluv10 LOL, Whitney's extra fine twin! Whitney used to look good too, but Cindy was a 17 out of 10!

  • @dawb86 lol Many guys agree with you considering that although Whitney was pretty many guys I know never considered her as a sex symbol.

  • @dawb86 sound like 3lw is in this song lol.

  • is it me or do man at 138 look lik babyface when he was on cover album tender lover just look babyface album

  • classy beautiful ladies and i looove that rap.

  • This is the remix, not the album version.

    But still cool.

  • Cindy's vocals were everything on this song.

  • @PlanetJMar amen to that!

  • What I loved about EN VOGUE was...all my GIRLS have VOCAL TALENT!!!!!!!

  • Still know every word! ; )

  • Grandes tempos. Curti muito!

  • U sho right! The real singers are gone -wait except for Jennifer Hudson. She has a REAL voice (with soul). She is a TRUE singer. People like Beyonce are PERFORMERS. There is a HUGE difference.

  • @Khud82able True to that .....nothing like the real thing.

  • @Khud82able yeah, jasmine sullivan is a TRUE singer also

  • @Khud82able I agree completely. I have been having that same argument about the same 2 people with one particular producer for a while now.

  • Nice video so classy the black and the white so 90's.

  • yeah///rapinterlude@the bedroomscene yeeeeeeeeeahyeah <3 thattt

  • Absolutely love EnVogue!!! Miss seeing them perform. I know they can still blow.

  • DAMN! I miss them.

  • I love their sexy Tits.

  • See the video for "My Lovin'(You're Never Gonna Get It)" in HQ on En Vogue's Legacy's channel!

  • best female r&b group from the 90's!

  • omg, ok is the rapper in this video the same girl who asked cuba gooding jr if he "could drive stick" in boys in the hood? the girl he lost his virginity to in his make believe story told to his dad?? I believe so!

  • LOVE THE PART ON 1:53!

  • Sorry for the multiple posts...

  • @mkmytzlplyk1 Debbie T

  • Comment removed

  • Debbie T

  • I love Maxine's powerful voice on the last part.

  • That is my favourite part of the song too.

  • the 90's... when we had real r n b music and everyone was on the top of their game..now the legends have lost their souls and their voices this is the decline of good music in general....hoes rule the industry now who cant sing have 0 talent....i wish we could go back to the 90's..so fkn sad...

  • @littlemissinnocen100 know days, daddy have a record company I'm become Beyonce and put the ring. So tasteless

  • @littlemissinnocen100 MY WORDS!!! THANK YOU!!! THAT IS WHAT I'VE ALWAYS BEEN TELLIN BUT THEY ALL DIDNT BELIEVE ME!!! THANKS FOR THINKING THE SAME WAY :)

  • This song is so true

  • I love this song.... I remeber when it first came out my sister called the radio station and dedicated it to her boyfriend!! Classic!!!!

  • @TjRenai lol

  • The first time I heard this, it was on their greatest hits cd. That cd has their first hits all the way to the time where it was just three of them.

  • my fave! i love dawn's soprano ad-libs!!! so good to my ears... hurry up and come out with a new album!!! more success is in store for you ladies!
