  • do angelfish and discus get along together

  • not wie to keep angelfish and discus together for sickness reasons

  • Wow beautiful!

  • i thought we were gonna discuss kissing and bullying each other lol

  • Hi, I am starting 2 discus in a planted 60 gallon tank. How often do you change the water? Do you vacuum the bottom after the discus take their meal? I tried to do that but it's getting cumbersome

  • @kaujong once a week, and yes i vacuum. planted discus tanks require a lot of work. and if you are just starting you should really go with a bare bottom tank

  • nice work, but water is to dirty

  • @romandelis it's the algae on the front of the glass, i didn't scrape it. the water is clean though

  • Beautiful, i have a question for you, do you aspire you acuarium where the plants are planted?

  • beatiful tank!! congratulations, i have a question for you, doy you aspire you tank wher your plants are planted?

  • Hey is it possible that one of your angelfish a is wild scalare species? The 1st one w/ the faded stripes looks like my scalare kinda... only he has longer fins than mine... but I've seen wild angels with relatively long fins like yours...

What's the range for angelfish in your area? Here it's $4.99 (just out of town) - $50 -- mine was a big $50 wild caught Scalare... Usually they go for around 10-15 bucks though...

  • @SpitRhyma no they are all local, at the LFS they are 3.99 plus 15% tax !!! but if you buy from a private breeder nearby it's usually $2 each

  • can you mix angelfish with the discus?

also what are the small blue fish called?

  • @reptilerob57 cardinal tetra

  • are these discus dead now... they are gasping for air......

  • nope, they are doing great

  • They look pretty normal to me

  • hi may i know how u planted your Bacopa ? mine keep comming out from the soil...

  • Yikes. High nitrates!? Yes. If you want to kill the fish.

  • Awesome, I read that these fish need hight nitrates, Is that true?

  • now low nitrate, you read the total opposite :P

  • Nitrate levels are often regarded as the most important factors to watch, high is definetally the way to keep your fish healthy and suceptible to disease, ofcourse as long your ph level is in the lower level

  • I ment Nitrites, I had the two confused at the time. Cause I am sure that Nitrates are the bad ones and Nitrites are the good, That why I thought they need high nitrites in the water.

  • No fish need high nitrates. They prefer all pollutants at 0. Unfortunately, factories do not agree with them .

  • Right. Best to have no ammonia or nitrite but fish can handle low levels of nitrate. Plants will absorb nitrate and good aeration will help to oxidise pollutants.

  • angel fish with discus ? are you insane? theyre carrying a disease theyre immune to that will kill your discus to the last one.

  • no, they have lived together for 2 years plus and are doing great.

  • LOL i have had 8 wild caught altum angels with 13 wild caught heckels in a 215 for over 6 years.....no problems. Soooo that little theory dose not always apply

  • your discus is struggling to breathe..need water change..

  • How are your angels doing with the cardinals? I want that combination but know that there may be hardships. By the way NICE TANK!

  • i thought angels spread harmful diseases to discus? how did you avoid that?

  • by qurantine, i had bought those angels when they were babies and had them for about 4 month in a seperate tank and made sure they were healthy.

  • They're so Pre-TAY!!!

  • It's not about being healthy. Angels carry parasites that can be transferred to discus and they can die.

  • Eh....I didn't say anything about them being healthy o_0

  • yes that can happen, and if my discuses were $200 each exquisite rare types from germany or wild ones from the amazon then I would defintiely keep them alone, but these are hardy discuses.

  • <<<<<<<<<<< ON a planted tank like that, do you clean the gravel at all? or just change the water....Thanks any help would be much appreciated.

  • not really, but you can if you want to, because my fish population is low and I make sure the food do not get wasted and get stuck in the gravel.

  • Awsome tank, can you give me any advice on how to care for them, i want to get a 75-90 gal tank with either a wet/dry filter, or a canister, i would like 4-5 discus with a couple of catfish and some cardinials in there too, i know they like an acidic ph, and a hgher temp than other tropicals, and no amonia or nitrite/nitrate, you have to change there water at least weekly, and feed them a varied diet 2-3 times a day, is that basically it? Also how do you clean and do the water changes>>>>>>>>>>

  • very good set up..gotta love them!!

  • At the 26 second mark, I found it to be pretty funny when your black anglefish swam up to the discus...

  • Awesome assorted fish & planted tank!
