the afros were idiots for letting Jon leave......and for now mouthing off to the press so it's impossible for him to come back.... they got egotistical and didnt realise he made them sound far better than their talent  level actually is. now they got a characterless rudimental clone drummer and i fall asleep :( i dont listen to new mars volta.

@BigWill2k ok, u DO realize the following FACTS right? : 1) omar and cedric don't consider themselves musicians, have absolutely no ego, and critisize themselves all the time. 2) omar writes ALL the music, so it doesn't matter what drummer they have, even live they don't improvise as much as it seems, as long as the drummer can play the material he's good enough, it all depends on omar's writing not the drummer's skills. 3) each of their drummers have been well-syncopated monsters. now stfu.

@BigWill2k worse in your opinion. omar kicked him out and changed his tastes in music, then got another drummer. thats not because the next drummer was worse, omar just made different music, and he changes drummers when his tastes change. its just a different feel for him when some1 else is doing it, and he likes to change things up. these are facts, from interviews and things of that nature, don't blame drummers for just playing what he tells them to, they don't even get to see the other parts

@BigWill2k Tom Pridgen? Anyone? You should try looking up the band "Kudu" and the song "Sugar" - that's the new Mars Volta drummer there... AMAZING!!! Dave Elitch is great too. Jon Theodore is an awesome drummer, but they are ALL awesome.

@BigWill2k This guy obviously spends most of his time with the radio. everyone who knows omar and cedric also knows that the other band members should feel blessed such great artists even wanted to work with them.. the only reason they need them is for live shows..
