One possible message is that: transgendered people are not "authentic," they are "fake," and thus it's okay to make fun of them. Or that wise people will sense that they are not "real." This makes transgendered people's lives(which might already be anguished) EVEN harsher. I just don't see a need to discriminate agaist minorities to get attention.
