I spent about 2 hours trying to go past the skeletons and made it past the 3rd sorcerer (i think) in the catacombs before I got fed up with the game. I had no idea there was a path up the mountain. I think I prefer demon souls linear(ish) map system.

You mean the little white circle on the ground?.That indicates another person used a Faith based spell on that spot.If you are also a Miracle caster and you stand in that area your Miracles will be more potent (healing spells heal more hp etc).

If you have a healing spell equipped you actually see a white circle over it in your HUD.

Since you only had like 27 souls you could just have ran for the treasures and accepted the loss of the souls, since 27 is basically nothing. Plus, I know that atleast one of the treasures is a large soul, worth 400. Well worth the trade off

Dealing with Mimics is easy, just always remember to stab any treasure chest you come to, if it is a Mimic, it will take damage and get up so you can fight it like any other monster.

@EnderDragon also look at the chain if it is not curved in a circular shape it is a mimic.

@pressApressB When you are human, you can select the option at a bonfire to kindle it. This will give up one more humanity point and cause that bonfire to give you extra flasks. good luck

Do you have to be Human to level up? or can you do it as hollow?

@WovenPit0 you can lvl up as hallow or human only differences are:

BEING HUMAN:

1-gives you better chance to get better items from monsters

2-Chance to PVP

3-Chance to Summon online help to fight bosses

4-Kindle Fire-which gets you more potions everytime you rest

4-Look less like a zombie

After coming out of the pool go up the next set of steps the big guy talk to him and he will give you a copper coin keep talking to him to join his covenant. Before going up the steps look by were you started and go down the steps the woman in the cell and another soul.Mitchell is always missing places to look, after killing the fire bomber return to the bottom of the steps and walk around the steps to kill one more and get another soul treasure.

if u use hammer u can try to run trough the place where the skeletons are to collect items......spend all ur souls .....and just run pick item and run back to bonfire.......if u are like lvl15 u can manage to kill the skeletons one by one......blunt weapons are a must

@MagicAccent You have to walk on the edge of the bridge directing the character to the inside of the bridge. Basically you have to walk diagonally

Mimics are chests that come to life when you try to open them, and they usually eat you, and kill you, they were in castlevania if you've ever played that game, but anyways yea, im not sure how the mimics are in this game, never played (yet), but im sure they're just as hard to kill like in castlevania, cuz they.....like to jump everywhere and chomp! chomp! chomp! lol

OMG THANK YOU!! ive been going down the cemetery killing the skeletons for a while. The big skeleton givs 500 souls! =D I have an easy way to kill them. First let the skeles follow u. on 2.37 of this vid, go to the top right corner of that wall outside in front of you. wait for the big skeles to come at u and theyll eventually attack at u and then fall. keep up ur shield just in case though. I made a lot of exp this way. doesnt work 100% though.

a circle there safe but if the chain if straight its a mimic
