  • The Palmetto stopped running didn't it??

  • wow thats fast..

  • i would KILL for that job!

  • like the Grade Crossing signal.

  • Freights Do Pretty Much Slow Most Amtrak Service Down. But If You're On It You Would'nt Think Too Much Of It Because You're Probably Having "Too Much Fun" On Board. LOL! I Just Miss Those Heritage Coach Cars With "Real Reclining Seats" That Almost Converted To A Bed Position.

  • フォア─────────────!!!!!

    (警笛)

    アムフリート1と2の混合編成みたいですね。

    130キロぐらい出してるのでわかりにくいですが。

  • was that a train or a low flying plane?

  • Great video. Amtrak is usually late on that run, so that is why it is flying

  • Just rode that train today. Had an awesome K5LA.

  • I rode the palmetto once from Philadelphia to Charlston, SC

  • damn dat thing can fly

  • As noted : This video's my favorite among all of the Amtrak videos i've seen on YouTube.

  • Amtrak rules....... when ur outside and watch their trains.....

  • I read an article in Trains about the AMTRAK auto train. It said that the AMTRAK's get pushed to the bottom of the totem pole. That's why they speed so much.

  • huh? speed so much?

  • When I went to work for the SPRR back in 1972 passenger train were first class trains in the time table and if you wanted to get fired all you had to do was delay the passenger train. #'s1&2 in Houston.

  • This line is the busiest in SC. It goes from Jacksonville to New York. The Abbeville Sub is also busy (Atlanta to Hamlet, NC). The Norfolk Southern line between Atlanta and Charlotte, NC is also busy.

  • dang that thing is flying!! i live here in spartanburg and the amtrak doesnt normally come until 12am or 5am. its sad. but other than that nice video!! keep em comin

  • Yeah, they do that right before a station to speed up the baggage.

  • Check out the second (aft) sliding door on the baggage car. It appears to be open. Imagine what a rush it would be to be hanging near that door.

  • Been there, done that. It's awesome. I used to ride 89/90...and 97/98 from OCA to JAX and back with a few of the conductors, also had a trip from OCA to WTH and back. Wasn't too thrilled about it on cold nights. lol

  • wow! that was fast lol... great video keep'em coming i'm a huge train fanatic

  • he must be doing at LEAST 80!

  • MAS is 79, unless further restricted by the csx timetable.

  • why does the train run 3 hours late? is that normal? i enjoy those train videos, those siren sounds.

  • Thanks. It all depends on the railroad traffic. Usually the Palmetto gets held up in Rocky Mount, and that really messes up the schedule.

  • The majority of the rail from Rocky Mount north to Petersburg is single track main. So in other words, Amtraks must wait their turn to proceed through the bottleneck. Another bottleneck is DC to Richmond, hence CSX's proposed 4 track mainline in that corridor.

  • Yes, and that is why it is usually late.

  • I wish I could see the amtrak fly by.

  • great location and video!
