  • thats some awesome tone..what are you tone settings in the tonelab st.i got one..wondering wat is your settings like..

  • what are the settings! it sounds amazing!

  • You are really good. Wow.

  • wat do you mean on micpre? so there is still something between the tonelab and soundcard?.. ill be gettin my TLST in mid april so just wanna know recording stuff for tlst.. and goodbye bossME50 u have serve me well.. can u post videos using TLST's wah?

  • niiiice/ whered you take minus track?

  • Cool, What settings did you use in the tonelab?

  • Seriously, you're phrasing is amazing. How did you start incorporating that into your playing? I've been playing for years and can't seem to develop good improv phrases

  • @frishdawgs Thank you very much bro! The technical part can be learned by anybody, but the key to good improvisation is to have a "musical fantasy". So if you know what you want to pay and can sing the melody in your head, you are almost there. It is great to listen to other musicians that guitar players, horn players singers and such and try to learn some lines from them , they phrase a really different way than guitar players do. I listened to a lot of groovy RnB and pop when i did this vid.

  • Cool man...

  • Wow , great playing!

  • where is the tab for this? hehe

  • @simplemelodia unfortunately this track is too long for an improv solo so i couldnt avoid repeating a lot of licks a lot of times when i ran out of ideas so you can get them by ear pretty easily :)

  • Andy, you got the Greg Howe Vibrato. Killer! Great chops bro, very smooth

  • reminds me of Andy Timmons =)

  • thanks for the lesson... Sir ;-))

I try to find your set up on this tonelab into all the answers.

    Thanks again from France.

  • yep,all pentatonic indeed!passin'passin'passin' haha! loved it man.... keep posting.

  • Hey man. I loved the mods that u did o your guitar. Are u playing a Rx 20? What pickups are u using? I really like that look H/S. Great playing by the way.

  • @ggperes thanks man! they are a Duncan JB in the bridge and a Dimarzio Cruiser dp187 (bridge version) at the neck position

  • @AndyVerok I love the Cruiser. I´m actually aquiering a similar gear. A friend of mine just bought a Tonelab ST for me. And I pick it up an RX-20 because of Andy Timmons, my favorite player. Any regards about the Tonelab? The computer interface works well?

  • hey man, what is better? tonelab st o pod xt ?? to play live?

  • @simplemelodia i have never tried the po xt but i think is has more functions in it, but the tonelab is more compact. Maybe the ST sounds a bit less plastic because of the tube. You decide, i suggest trying boht if you have the chance

  • what are the chords being played?

and what scale/mode were u using?

  • @drakester115 i dont actually know the chords, i just playd in the B pentatonic scale and filled in the gaps between notes with some passing tones :) I know it is not much information, but thats how i was thinking while playing. the pentatonic scale give a great bules-funk feel woth the slide vibrato techinque which gives a great basis for the whole thing. You got to feel the groove thats the most important thing in my opinion! If you get in the zone nothing can stop you:)

  • pretty dang good man!!

  • great playing man im having a problem with my st the notes dont ring for long and have no sustain specially pinched harmonics you know what the problem is the sound kinda dissapears

  • You might have the Noise Reduction on too high. You have to push the little button above the amp model selector long this way you can access the secondary functions of the tone knobs. Try adjusting the "middle" knob because it controls the NR (there is an "NR" sign below the knob) function now that you are n the secondary menu. set it quite low and only use it if you have very much distortion going on.

I personally dont use noise reduction, i rather turn down my guitars volume if i dont play

  • i tried the noise reduction on my tonelab st same problem and i have an ibanez rg 350 dx any other things that you think might be causing this?

  • i have no other idea unfortunately. i suggest contacting with the shop you bought it from or any maybe the vox customer support

  • I love your playing!!!!

    Just so groovy and funky.

  • hello..Megint énvagyok...a pisti tanitványa

  • I like how you laugh at the end. I laugh after a jam session too. great playing!

  • so wait you don't use usb for audio? Please let me know your setup cause i get crap audio through the usb.

  • nope! i also have bad experiences with the USB method.

I just used the main output with the little switch on "line", tweaked a usable sound with the cabinet simulator, then going into my focusrite penta preamp and into the EMU1212 soundcard. Very little post processing is used with iZotope Ozone 4 mastering plugin, just to make the whole thing blend together, instead of sounding like a guitar solo played over a backing track

  • Very nice Andy

  • I'm driving home from work and on the radio is "Heaven" from LosLonelyBoys sounds Great and I think , AndyVerok can play this....

  • hey, i have never heard of this band, but they are great, i like this song very much, at first it was like a hidden track on a John Mayer album:) thanks for the tip bro!

  • run over his lead with your own

  • Nice playing men!!!

  • I love the way it ends :D

  • i liked your andy timmons era better...

  • i still love that vibe, but trying to absorb everything i can and discover some other musical landscapes other than Andy's playing, it is really a challenge to keep up with a tight groove like this and i think it is a good think to be able to do. I think the only style i can not use any Andy kind of vibe is this kind of funk, it just doesn't suit this kind of music. If you watch my Hall & Oates jam video you'll hear plenty of AT inspired playing for sure:)
