The short passage from 5:37 to 5:39 sounds from something from another game to the C=64.. I just cant remember that game.. But I can remember some of the music, and I really wanna listen to it again! Anyone knows what game I might be thinking of??
I fired the game up often just for he music. I actually taped it and had it on my WALKMAN... LOL!
Let's see, how was it? oh yea i had my C64 connected to my TV, and the TV's Headphones Output connected to my old ass Stereo's Mic Input. (Old Walkman cables tied flimsy together).
Those were the times! I have had EVERY Computer i owned connected to a Stereo (i never liked PC Speakers, although there are good ones now), even though i listen nowadays mostly via Headphones.
To all you people saying I wanna do a remix or I should do a mix of this song, it won't and can't get any better and if you try you are destroying an already awesome tune.
Might be the best C64 tune ever. It sounds so fresh. so full, that it's hard to believe it plays on a cheap-ass 3 channel sound chip from 30 years ago.
one of my all time favs from the c64 was thinking of uploading my modified version in stereo but i'll think i'll leave it this sounds great thanks for uploading.
@aseglkj: Uh... this WAS recorded from a real C64 and it isn't emulated at all. Oh, and I had this game on the C64 when I was a kid and it sounded exactly like this recording. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.
@inphanta oh yeah? cause I have a REAL c64 running here right next to me, running cybernoid ii and the music sounds completely different. so what kind of C64 do you have? sid model? board revision?
@aseglkj: The original C64, which obviously has the 6581 SID model. Mine was R2. Anyway, the rips for this SID are on 6851 to 8580 dot com, which contains real recordings from every SID model. Strangely enough, the R2 rip sounds identical to this.
@inphanta so did you record it from your c64 or did you use the mp3 from the site (I think you mean sid dot oth4 dot com), because they use the HardSID which has completely different filters than a real C64, and the music in your video sounds exactly like the the recording from the mentioned site. The 6581R2 and R3 sound identical since the only change was to the INPUT pins.
@aseglkj: No, I meant 6851 to 8550, which is why I said that. And they record from real C64s there, which you'd know if you'd even bothered to click the link or knew anything about the C64 scene. Either way, my recording was from an actual C64, which again, sounds like the the mp3 at the site I mentioned. Ultimately, your fallacious claim that this sounds nothing like the original is nonsense to anybody familiar with this tune. Please stop pretending you know what you're talking about.
@inphanta LMAO, you don't even know the SID's number ... it's 6581, not 6851. Anyway, no such site as "6581 to 8580 dot com" exists. Google search returns nothing. Maybe you just hallucinated this in your alcoholic stupor? In any case your "recording" sounds nothing like a real C64. A real SID doesn't produce so many high frequencies.
@aseglkj: You really are an annoying prick, aren't you? First of all, 6851 was a typo. Secondly, try 6581 hyphen 8580 dot com (I meant to say 'dash' and not 'to', my bad). Again, you'll find it's identical. Thirdly, like I said before and you completely ignored, my recording was from a real C64, and ANYBODY familiar with the tune will know it sounds the same. And the C64 IS capable of high frequencies. You know nothing and you're embarrassing yourself. Please stop.
@inphanta alright, douchenozzle, I found the site. Their 6581R4 recording sounds exactly like my C64, their 6581R2 recording sounds like yours. Something is up here. The difference should not be that huge. How did you record it? Using what sound card?
@aseglkj: "Something is up here.". Yes, you're completely wrong. That's what's up. And if my recording sounds like the one you heard on the site, then it obviously can't be a soundcard issue at my end as both were sourced differently, yet still sound the same. Anyway, now we've established that, troll, you are dismissed.
man.. this music inspires me beyond belief. all those days spent as a kid on the c64 in my bedroom programming and playing what i thought at the time were mind-blowing games only to realise down the track that they WERE mindblowing and the soundtracks of this miracle little SID chip was a lot of the reason behind their success.
Could You upload title SID tune for After the War?

It's got to be the R5 version - my C64 didn't sound so tinny on the melodies!

If there was ever a tune that proved what the SID could do in the hands of a competent programmer, it'd be this.

@inphanta I'lll repeat that cause I wrote that piece of music on C64 when I was 16 years of age. :-)

Great craftmanship, Jeroen Tel.

@arthur42: There was nothing "cheap ass" about the SID chip, mate. It was ahead of its time. No other 8-bit sound chip came close.
inphanta 8 months ago 17
@inphanta cheap ass as in cheap ass judging from todays standards.
arthur42 7 months ago
@inphanta Not cheap ass in when it was around, new and kicking but compared to todays' standards.
Nowadays, my $40 microwave possibly has more electrical brains in it than an entire c64, but still it sounds not merely as good. :D
