Lowering your MTU will help your latency a bit in games but you may suffer from slow download and web browsing speeds if you lower it too much.

Quick Question. It the video the value for setting the TcpAckFrequency is in Decimal. Mine's Hexadecimal by default. Does it matter which one it uses and does one work better?

This totally fixed my internet. Playing WoW my latency was sometimes 200~300, maybe a little less if I was lucky. But normally it would be at 800~900, and often times it would jump up to thounsands. I saw 11000 once. Since I did this my latency hasn't gone over 200 yet. Thanks so much

Yes, it improves WoW latency. I used to play Wow and I doubt blizzard would ban for something like this. It's kinda unfair to someone who lives far away from the hoster..say server is in cali and you're from NY..you have major latency while people from Cali enjoy their low latency game.

1. Run Regedit

2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Serv­ices\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfac­es\

4. Add a DWORD named TcpAckFrequency This is Case Sensitive. If it is already there, skip to step 5.

5. Set the Value of the DWORD to 1

6. Reboot your PC

the algorithm sticks packets sent to the servers in a bundle. so it means it takes more time to send and receive packets. disabling the alorithm will make your computer send little bundles of packets , which means that information will be sent constantly. what this does it is create a constant flow of sending and receiving. and this lowers lag because there is no waiting for data to be bundled

I believe you mean Sprint? If so, then my guess would be yes. You're accessing the internet from that device so it should be in the registry..Just look for the right values.

I followed this guide the best way i could and i matched everything you did, the only thing that might've been different was our Interfaces. You had several while i only had 3. Even after using your guide and dling a hotfix, nothing changed but i do have a question. All the hotfixes i could find only had "Windows6.0_KB935458_v2_x86" and "Windows6.0_KB935458_v2_x64" i was wondering if the "x32" at the end of the file had anything to do with how many bits you have. I have 32.

The hotfixes are pointless...sorry. Anyways, do you have vista or xp? Also, interfaces are very very important. If you followed my guide and saw no change then try doing the same to your other interface(s). I'm not very experienced with making registry entry files but I can make a simple file that will put TcpAckFrequency with value of 1 in a directory..the tricky part for me is to figure out which interface to put the value in..that you have to figure out on your own.

Yes, you have to restart your computer. This tweak does not fix the smash lag where you try to smash an opponent and you keep teleporting back. ( rubber band ).

You can fix the smash lag by going into the game options and setting reserve attack to not used.

Don't worry, it's very simple to play without reserve attack. Just get used to it and you'll be fine,reserve attack just gets in the way and hurts your ability to n+1 sometimes anyways.
