@JOSEARGUINARENA Ahhh automatic alarms suck, 95% of the time they turn out to be nothing, and if it happens in the same building enough it causes you to get complacent, so when there actually is an emergency it catches you off guard lol.

What was going on? I noticed the orange cones set up and then at the end the two tower trucks with their sticks up and the large hanging between the two. What were they doing?

@DJDanniFantom that's part of the Light Force, they add 200 to the normal Engine Number, it always rolls with the Ladder, so that the Ladder has more capability. Read up on the Light Force or two-car for more info.

Wait, so I read the comments and some are complaining about the time it took them to get out the door. The entire video is 2 minutes long... E27's crew or at least the engine has it's lights on, likely ready to pull out at the 1 minute mark. E227 about the same time, T27 pulls out at 1:14, as it is customary for LAFD that the ladder goes first.... And, they were taking part in some type of ceremony nextdoor at the museum. Wow, you guys have some unrealistic expectations.

i have never seen bay doors open like that ya know from side to side the only ones i have seen gos up and down is that new

Thanks for your comments. This particulary kind of bay doors are not new, several FD's have them, for example WDCFD. I'm not quite sure, maybe someone from the 27th. can tell us, but is my best guess that as this station has a traditional look with a lot of history, the wanted to keep the same old style doors so they make them automatic.

@JOSEARGUINARENA Check then and now the story of lafd. Its a four part series about station 4 and other stations in the city that being replace for new houses. In the story about four house the capt talks about those types of doors in one of the segments.

@pitbullbitedog The doors that open to the side instead of vertically actually allow for faster apparatus deployment. It takes longer for one door to clear the top of an apparatus than it does for two separate doors folding to the sides.

@pitbullbitedog The doors open like that, so that if there's a power outage or an Earthquake causes the doors to not open, they can manually open the doors by hand, just as easy.

hey im a FF out on the east coast. Whats a task force or light force? are they used for calls that don't require a full alarm?

@notobeanassbut A task force is a very flexible combination of units. A task force consists of a truck, engine, and 200 series engine aka the pump. A TF can be broken up into a light force which consists of the truck and pump. The truck and pump always respond together on calls. The only exception would be E209 which is the only fully staffed 200 series engine in the department and responds on its own. This is due to the call volume at that station. The staffing on a TF is 5 on the truck...

@mso3355 , 4 on the engine and 1 on the pump. Staffing on a LF is 4 on the truck and 2 on the pump. The fifth ff from the truck rides on the pump. Also the truck always leads the TF or the LF because the captain of the truck is the highest ranking member in the TF or LF and must assess the situation and if need be request more resources from OCD. TFs respond to just about everything other than medical calls. Medical calls generally go to the engine or the LF with a rescue ambulance.

Those hoses are for the exhaust extraction system used to keep the engine fumes out of the bay.

Task force 27 is the way that the group of vehicles is called when all of them, toghether, attend a call. I'm not pretty sure but for example this would be truck 27, engine 27, engine 227 and the battalion chief.

let me give you the correct information of what a task force is it consists of a Truck Engine And a 200 series engine also known as the pump JOSE below you said also a battalion chief is part of a task force well that is FALSE. it only is what i told you you. a task force is not what he says they go together to attend a call that clearly does not make sense they do depending on the incident.
