Let's just put politics aside. "Rescue Me" is one of the finest written and best acted pieces of work on television since "The Wire" on HBO. The post 9/11 heartbreak, sheathed in huge comedic bursts, caught a NYC firehouse in the midst of its own insanity and psychic-numbing. And on top of that great work, look what Denis Leary did with a lot of the show's profits -- put money where mouth was: over a million bucks for new FD gear. Emmy, Shmemmy. Go Leary for all peop[le. Go Irish!

My top two Emmy snubs are John Noble and Nelsan Ellis.

Both of them do an incredible job with the roles they have and make characters that could be forgettable and silly compelling.

But Aaron Paul did get a nomination so I was one for three with the longshots.

rescue me best show ever, 5th seasson is not even the best, but sure better than any others on this vid...dennis is one of the best comedy drama actor, he deserves to win something...however i'm pretty sure rescue me 6th gonna win lots of awards since it gonna be series closer seasson, and wil and on 10th anniversary of 911...

Although I am a huge fan of the books and the first season of TruBlood, they do NOT deserve an Emmy nod. The acting is melodramatic and cheesey. The only 2 people who deserve recognition is guy who plays Lafayette and the guy who plays Jason. Especially Lafayette He's flamboyant but not over the top. I love his lines when he is speaking to Eric and says "he's a survivor first" and that he "damn near glamours people already" -perfect.

I was amused by the fact that people seem to think True Blood deserved anything but then when you consider that the Emmy's voters seem to think that Everyone Loves Raymond is funny and that Kelsey Grammer can act I suppose anything is possible.
