I like the song but I don't like the fact that they trick people into listening to it by affiliating it with Cold Play. Not very honest if you ask me.
@beckiohead The song is rather old (1757) with several variations. I actually think JoC is using an older version in this particular version. Also, since the commonly used tune was added by John Wyeth around the publication of his music repository in 1813, I don't know who exactly to call out for "changing" this worship song.
@iLuvHomeSchool Actually, "Here's my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for thy courts above." Would be how Robert Robinson wrote the hymn. Though I have seen "... take and seal it, Work in me Thy double cure." in the public domain as well. Having been written in 1757 some variation may have crept in.
@apricotpeel ah honestly thats how I usually sing it. I apologize for that mistake, I love the lyrics either way, it's the truth and heart behind them that matters, not the wording, but I thank you for that correction, I'm so terrible with remembering those things!
Edgykayla: I'm not attacking you, but how devout could you be if you can't even spell it right? It's "M-o-r-m-O-n". Not "Mormen". I'm not an LDS member, but I'm sure of that! And it's not Coldplay singing it, it's Jars of Clay.
Whoa, hello unexpected harmony! <3 Beautiful!
Definitely one of my favorite hymns, and a beautiful rendition of it at that.

It kind of gets on my nerves when people feel the need to change the lyrics of worship songs...

Ya I agree with *Chevron704*...
Is it about God that you did upload this video or for Coldplay ???
Authenticiter 2 years ago
If the real Cold Play did this hymn, it would be good.
grainofsandfan 2 years ago 26
i disagree... coldplay would have droned on for three minutes, causing many many people to wonder what was going on

@edgykayla Definitely not... 'tis the dulcet tones of Dan Haseltine of "Jars of Clay".

Why does it say "Coldplay" at 1min in if this has nothing to do with Coldplay? --__--

@Chevron704 I'm assuming it was a mistake made by the video editor and, like many mistakes on the Internet, will never ever ever ever go away.
