Yeah, I like Unstoppable better! It makes more sense actually having an unmanned runaway train rather than two lazy ass crew members aboard a runaway train that they're in control of!
To make this movie more realistic, they could have had it take place in winter with the air hoses being frozen instead of breaking apart. That would prevent air pressure from flowing throughout the cars. And they keep saying the train was heading downhill into Denver. That doesn't make sense because of the Continental Divide. If it were going to Salt Lake City, then it would have been described as downhill.
Wonderful film - one of my favorite TV movies of the 90's. Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis looked brilliant. I wish they made more films together. I miss the 90's

Also, air leaking from the brakes would (I assume, due to brakes being fail-safe) cause the train to go slower and slower...
