Uhh, ok, BUT there are many modern places in Turkey as well, HOW COME every time someone shows Turkey on television OR Internet, THEY ONLY show mosks and covered women, BUT NOT any of the modern-dressed people (*vast majority*) or any modern parts of the cities that even match such cities as San-Francisco etc.. (BTW..been there recently-cool city! )

I agree with you. Istanbul is a very cool and modern city more vibrant and interesting (to me) than NYC or any USA city for that matter. Sure it has traditional dress and you can see the entire spectrum of fashions there but it is secular so that means a woman has freedom to dress any way she wants to (but in mosques a lady should show respect and cover her knees, take off shoes and cover her head if she wants to). Reporters from the USA don't seem to know a lot about Istanbul.
