ouch. i actually like the movie a lot. the story may have been a bit weak but i enjoyed the way the story wasnt this super big story it was just this realistic story of the brothers lives on the bayou. i would buy it. but i respect ur opinion. also this movie really made me want to visit the bayou.
Hello i'm from louisiana and lived here all my life i'm 42 years old and was a shrimper for 15 years started at age 13 years old . i think that they should let the real cajun people act in the movies that they film in louisiana because no matter how hard they try to act and talk like us , they cant ! and i feel the movies would be alot better. because we know the true stoys we lived it .
Just a note: The film wrapped principal photography a week before Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Rita hit 3 weeks later and destroyed all the locations where filming took place. Heart breaking because the people there were amazing as was the beauty of the bayou.
I just watched this the other day and was impressed. I agree the story had its weak points, but the characters were great, and I was entertained throughout the film. If nothing else I thought it showed a way of life that most moviegoers aren't as familiar with. It's worth watching for sure.
hey i t hink this it is a great movie, i am i cajun and im from the area that got hit, it also shows how we live our lives, and what our culture is like, some pople think we are some just stupid coonass and rednecks but we are alot smater then wat people think we know how to live off the land, like grow out own crops, fish, hunt and rise animals, we also know how to make and and whisky and wine
Oh come on Brian, I thought it was a great movie and Im not even Cajun lol Pemon and T boy were perfect swampbusters, and that scene with the brothers talking about fornicating was hysterical. the ending was wild too he was almost ready to blow his brothers brains out! wow! but don't worry you'll get the next movie right . lol
Its funny that u mention Evanescence.. Me and A Mac busted out their old album tonight and listened to it.. lol.. But, 2 stars?! WTF meng?! lol.. People.. If u have seen the movie "Of Mice And Men" and u liked it.. Believe me, u will love this film..
I loved the movie...Filmography was excellent...4th of July scene was over the top....Told the stroy of a different way of life...4.5 stars...
