@11xzxzxz The point of protest songs is to remind, not only to entertain. Maybe what you feel is a desire for the reminder to stop, and I wouldn't blame you. Certainly there is still plenty to protest about.
@11xzxzxz Not true. It was an act of outright defiance to the system for Phil to keep singing this song. The federal government did all it could(for example, the Federal Communications Commission forced "Small Circle Of Friends" off of the radio because of its verse about smoking pot-never mind that it was an ANTI-DRUG verse-and thereby denied Phil his best chance of getting a hit single)and he was barred from appearing on network television in the U.S.
