In my experience, if you don't forgive, you hurt yourself moreso than the invested party. Forgive that person and forgive yourself. Of course, learn from that experience. Also, in order for the truth to surface from "a friend", there has to be an occurrence which challenges that friendship. The way to know the strength and truth of a friendship, something HAS to go dowwwwwn. Its easy to be "friends" when life is balanced.
