Just ordered the Chevy S10 Blazer Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly for my 4wd...Great price I must say. Hopefully everything goes smoothly when I tackle this to install.
@1aauto Item arrived 2 days after I purchased it. Finally have a day to install it but running into some problems. Seems the hub is rusted on and cant seem to pry it off. Used plenty of PB Blaster and still nothing. Tried your method in the video as well. Hopefully it comes loose soon. Maybe I should purchase a gear puller? Unfortunately my options are limited.I dont want to keep whacking it and possibly damage something.
@thebubbaking17 The basics should be similar, you may have to do a few different things to remove it from your truck. We currently do not have a repair video for that particular application. Thank you for checking out our auto repair channel. Have a great day!
Thank you so much for this post. I watched it several times before doing the install. I followed your instructions to the letter and it worked flawless. I just finished it about an hour and a half give or take. Took a few soda breaks. I did buy a 18mm with a swivel connected to it from NAPA prior to starting. It helped a lot getting to those hard to reach bearing bolts. Anyway thanks so much, real professional.
@Spennyman10 You're welcome, thank you for watching our auto repair video. We offer a great selection on parts for your Chevy S10 on our website 1aauto.com
I bought a 2001 GMC Jimmy 3 years ago and had to replace the front left wheel bearing when i got it. last year i replaced the front right, and now the left is going out again? My mechanic says it's normal? Replacing the wheel bearings every three years? is he right???????
@mastermequon It depends on the type of driving you do, and also how many mile you put on the vehicle. We offer some great prices on the wheel bearing assemblies that fit your 2001 GMC S-15 Jimmy. Here's a link to them on our website.

This video was very helpful. I installed the hub, but, it is not flush. any suggestions on what may be wrong? will it cause a problem? it's about a quarter inch away from being flush.
@Bassman8519 It sounds as though there could be a piece of rust or something causing the hub not to sit flush. This would need to be cleaned and removed so that when you bolt the hub to the knuckle it sits flush.
@charlie3290 thats a good question ,1chevy s10/blazer model with 1000 front end issues X 1 sealed bearing=wear and tear the moment you leave the driveway
i have a 99 blazer and the wheel bearings on the front have been replaced about 4 times now within two years, what could be causing the bearings or hub assemblies to go bad over and over?
if everything is stuck (rotor, bearings on spline)bust out the heavy hammer.remove center nut, then tire.before removing anything else .spray some lube then grab a hammer and wooden block in case ur a bad shot and give the spline a few shots driving it into the bearing.if it goes in easy ur lucky and can just proceed with the rest of disassembly.if not u gotta hit it a little harder till it starts to travel into bearing.a little rust will bind them up good.
@CanadianGM Use a rubber mallet, or a peice of wood and hit it with a hammer. Do not hit the rotor directly with a metal hammer unless you want to replace it.
@russelln114 the hub can get seized on to the axle, then you will need a puller. I personally have not expreienced this. So chances are, on this type of hub, you can get it apart without the puller.
easier to get hub bearing out when the wheel is straight cause when its turned like you had it it puts the axle spline in a bind against the bearing just my opinion and thats how i do it ive just learned it comes off easier that way
@Blackops353 When hubs go bad they generally cause a humming noise that will change pitch as you turn your steering wheel for curves. A whooping sound while accelerating sounds more like a problem with your airbox or intake hose in to the engine, or maybe your rear differential, could be a few different things.

@robuss76 If you use the method shown in the video it should come loose for you. Some of them can be a little more stubborn than others.

Would this be any different from doing a hub assembly on a 1998 gmc k 1500?

some people say you need a puller to get the hub loose. I don't have a puller. Is it as easy to seprate the hub like you did with a screwdriver?

Would this be close to a 2000 chevy silverado 4X4 hub replacement? Thanks....

@Sneaky151 Yes, similar

Would you consider it safe to apply anti seize around the surface of the bearing to prevent it being stuck?
BOBKB3NZX 1 year ago
@BOBKB3NZX If you mean where the hub flange bolts to the steering knuckle, yes you could use anti sieze there.
1aauto 1 year ago
@1aauto yes, and the surface where the assembly meets the carrier hub.

do these cause a whooping sound while you are accelerating? or what else could possibly be causing a whooping sound
