@Evilevilrabbit One day i might post a tutorial, if everyone hasn't already figured out how to do it. I haven't been into cards lately, but when i get back into it i'll deffinately put some good thought into posting one. Thank your for your great comment
@rokoloui hahaha i see that. :) Thanks for your interest in my video. Did you see the 'reset' video and the paintbrush style change i was talking about? If so, do you think it suits your style?
@Cards882 TheMagicmanZev says that he's seen this done in an article in Antinomy Magazine. So I'm sure if you go to penguin magic and buy that magazine you will be able to learn it. Apparently its in issue #7... And here i thought i was being original lol.
i sent you my spring insight as a video response... idk how else to send it... cuz i dont necessarily want it private... aha... let me know what you think :D
now that i think about it... theres nothing wrong with this trick.... i watched it without audio the first time... so i thought the raising of the arms was pointless... but now i see the misdirection you used... great trick :D
it is invisible... dont get me wrong... i just feel like the raising the cards up to your chest looks a little unnatural... thats all... urs is probably better than mine though... im not gna judge... you can take a look at it if you want... it's in my vids.
very nice trick... im not trying to be a jackass, but ur pass looked a little unnatural to me... otherwise the spring turnover was awesome. reat performance. :D
As far as the pass goes- I can appreciate your point of view, and I will admit it wasn't perfect, but as far as being 'unnatural'.... well, in my opinion I thought it seemed natural enough with the misdirection used.... but I might just be fooling myself.
Thanks for taking the time out to comment on my video, and I'm glad you liked the revelation. :-)
no you are not fooling yourself,it was a well excecuted pass i thought.Remember..youtube magicians will always see the moves, but the layman will have no idea.great revelation by the way
not exactly new but quite interesting. I havent seen this exact handling or anything but there are some similar bits and pieces.
Dan and Dave have a production which is also from a spring. I forgot the name... sorry. I think it has Molecule in it or something. Molecule spring revelation? something like that.
I know which dan and dave trick you are talking about- the spring is done done in tenkai grip. I didn't figure this would be a new reveal, cause the concept is so simple, but I haven't ever seen it before so I wasn't sure.
Thank you very much for your input on this video! Means alot when you put comments on my videos. Thanks man! :-)
1. Pass was fine, patter was great to cover the motion.
2. WOW!
3. I'd recomend a thumb count not a pinky count.
4. There is no number 4.
5. WOW!
6. Why do I always leave comments as a list?
7. Don't you dare think you are done, whether or not you did invent it. Do more with it. Throw in some cuts or flourishes or something. Take it to the edge of creation.
3. Actually, there was no count. It was a fumbled strike double lift. Actually, it turned into a triple lift, that's why it looked so funny.... had a little struggle with it.
4. This ones easy.
5. Thank you
6. Maybe cause its more fun, and easier than trying to form sentences.. lol
7. I won't stop now, but be warned, I am no flourisher!!
I've been trying to learn how to snap my fingers forever now but still can't do it. Once I figure out how to snap, I'm gonna fit this into my ambitious routine! Can you out a tutorial on how to snap fingers?
You are right, the hardest thing about this move is the snapping of the fingers. I better explain how to do that before I explain the actual reveal. Man, this could take several hours to put it all together... but I'm up for the task. lol
thanks for the smart alec comment. I expect nothing less from you Steve. :-) lol
no problem. i always have like magic. u and eddiecaryl are the ones that really made me want to do it. i havent had alot of time to make videos cus of school, but this coming weekend ill try to post a video or two on my other channel DanRwoods.
Wow, thanks for the great compliment! Mine and eddies heads are swelling now lol.
My advice on posting magic tricks on here is this: make sure you don't flash any of the 'secret moves' during your presentation. That's one of my bigest pet peeves. Make sure its smooth so that people who don't know the moves can't figure it out.
Looking forward to seeing some of your stuff, good luck, and keep practicing. :-)
i used to have a cool friend with the same name as you do, WWM. he used to check out my vids and leave cool comments. ohwell, you did a very nice job here, i like the reveal 5 stars.
shuffle it up a bit before you show the top and bottom card. Otherwise, there's no reason for you to show them. Also, i have seen this revelation before, but you do it very smoothly.
Wow, thanks for the comment glump!! And that's some good advice, never thought of shuffling it to give showing the top and bottom some purpose. Now I feel dumb lol.
Do you remember where you've seen this before? Who created it?
Here's an idea. Do the revelation on the offbeat. For example, when they look like they're not paying attention, just do it and it will be more of a surprise. Now you'll have their attention for the remainder of the performance because the spectators will be reluctant to lose interest as they might miss something.
On to execution: The pass motivation was good, but get it so you won't have to depend raising your arms.
Lastly, the key to a good double lift is simplicity and lack of effort. Work on a good pinky count so you can have an automatic break at any time, thus terminating the fumbling movements. Check out Darwin Ortiz's pinky count. That's the one I use. Good luck.
that's some really good advice Austyn, thanks man! A surprise like that would deffinatley add more BANG to a performance. I basically just made this video to show off the move (as you well know :-) )
I have trouble with the pass, and so far that's the only way i am able to pull it off halfway decently. I'll keep practicing, but i don't know if i'll ever be able to do it as smoothly as you do man.
Thanks for the advice Austyn, really appreciate it.
ahhh yeah, i know the feeling. I used to film videos with my on my knees on the floor and a close up mat on a chair as my table... kinda sucked, but it worked.
Whenever you have to contort your elbows like that you can't perform tricks as easily, comfortably, or smoothly either. I suggest making a magic table. Just takes one sheet of plywood, some saws, screws, and paint basically. That way you could make something more to your height.. (I suggest it, but i still haven't made my own) lol
Please post a tutorial, otherwise slick, very slick

This has been done before. In one of my old issues of Antinomy Magazine, this was used as a production by a man named Brendan or Brandon...

Thank you so much for that information! I figured it had to already have been in print at some point or another- its such an easy concept.
I'm glad you told me this.
Any idea where i might be able to find a copy of that article?
WorldsWorstMagician 2 years ago
I just looked, it is issue #7 (available from Penguin Magic or their site) in Antinomy Magazine. The author of this stunt is Brandon Burton.

berniebay 2 years ago
I tkae it you don'y have a tripod then?
Looking forward to seeing some stuff from ya!
WorldsWorstMagician 2 years ago
I do have a tripod but i still can never find good angles or good places to do the tricks.
All the flat surfaces in my house are too low if i stand up or too high when i sit down.
So i have to contort my elbows up and over so the camera will get the shot
berniebay 2 years ago
ahhh yeah, i know the feeling.
