I think I can speak for everyone who actually played through the entire game that.. this was FUCKING EPIC MAN. Sure it has a few kinks / flaws, but the good more than outweighs the badd 100 x over. Im done with this game the first play through now I'm gonan try the other modes.

I wish you could play different modes :/ It wont let you start it over on the hardest one. I am going to make a new profile though and play it again from scratch. Might try getting no upgrades :)
@YourePrettyGoood You dont need to start over to play the hardest modes. Just play each chapter from the beginning. Its still just as fun only 10 X harder.

@jthampan I think its kind of like the lords of shadow. Gabriel transcended to heaven and left all of his evil side behind. That's why the black wings. Maybe.
Because he's empowered by every spirit in Limbo that didn't go to Heaven, has all kinds of Light/Dark powers and equipment, and is hinted to be the human reincarnation of the actual Archangel Garbiel. It's not like he's any normal human.
That and the Devil is only operating at a fraction of his real power when he's fighting on Earth (like it says in his bio). In the confirmed sequel, if the game takes place in Hell, who knows how strong he'll be.

In every Castlevania game I always search for every single item, every single trial, locked area or weapon before going for the final fight. That gives you a LOT of advantage. Been playing it since 1986. To be honest the ending it's not what I was expecting. Compared to "Lament of innocence" and "Curse of darkness" This Castlevania it's way easier.
Not quite. Dawn of sorrow already went to hell first, and by Dawn, it seems that theyve made Dracula into this sort of opposite figure to god. the "dark lord", so technically, its nothing new. Now, fighting Satan himself though, now THAT is quite new for vania.
I love the game... the ending is very very sad you know everyone lied to him and used him.. like zobak... they made him belive he could save marie bring her back... and at the end... he saved the world but couldent bring her back... and became imortel.. imortal without a reason to live it's sad.. but I have 3 questions pleas answer me:

@HellsGladiator I'm in the understanding when God forgave Gabriel it split his persona and after his human self died, Dracul remained. It would be tragic to see him fall from grace so quickly after saving the world. Hopefully the second game will clear some of this up. This was my action GOTY.
@FeuerFremder I see where you are coming from but he died battling Satan and was given his life back. If he were damned he would have been a vampire after Marie's soul left to heaven. When that light enveloped him did you not see those black wings sprout from his back? It is for that reason I think he was split. This is all open to interpretation so I don't see how I'm "wrong".
Vampyrism would not be part of his immortality. It could have been a lot of things - him using devil mask, him getting bitten by laura, him having two lord of shadow dominions under his control and so on.
AS for the light stuff:
1. Its just his "uber archangel powers" leaving him. For entire fight he was invincible and pretty much "empowered" by god.
2. Ascension does not make sense, because Marie talked to him AFTER all that happened and her speech negates this possibility.
Thanks for the ending because this last battle is ridiculiously hard, I can't get past the mid-air fist fight. Game was great until that point, everytime I hit him the first time, but the second time he always kills my ass. Why make this part so hard.
@SktMew I finally beat Satan, I think drinking while playing the game offset my reaction time. I am just starting the paladin setting now and ready to tear some shit up. Love this game

i used to think Dracu represented Gabriel's dark side after his good half had ascended into heaven. But now I am thinking maybe Gabriel never died, he simply evolved into Dracu because he was constantly haunted by his love for Marie and he was disappointed at God's arrangement.

Even through one game, Satan is already more epic than Dracula. Unlike him, he is actually agile, unlike Dracula, who rarely ever even walks. The battle theme is epic. If only he had a second form.

When it comes to Gabriel he was pretty much a puppet. He was trying to find answers and of course his wife. In the seen of him and satan it looks like Gabriel is Good/Evil. HIs powers were evil yet he only wanted to use them for good. His wife says his heart is pure. The question I have is what is the full power of both mask the Holy Mask and the Devil Mask?? I noticed she takes the Holy mask with her!!! and the Devil Mask is left behind Gabriel. Will he wear the Devil Mask?

@DeadlyKings Well we do see Gabriel trun become Dracula at the cut-scene after the credits so that wouldn't reallt be true. Although, we could think that Gabriel's soul went to heaven and his body he left on earth became the dark-side of him witch is Dracula when he weared the Devil mask. Of course That is just my theroy of the story with him after he defeats Satan. I'm not saying thats true, but I'm just saying something happend to Gabriel that made him into Draclua.
@demonicLEMONS Gabriel isn't human any longer at this point. When Marie and the lost souls resurrected him it should have, according to Carmilla, made him into a vampire... hence why he later becomes Dracula. :)

I love the game... the ending is very very sad you know everyone lied to him and used him.. like zobak... they made him belive he could save marie bring her back... and at the end... he saved the world but couldent bring her back... and became imortel.. imortal without a reason to live it's sad.. but I have 3 questions pleas answer me:
who is the final boss wher did he come from?
how did gabriel become a demon?
how did zobak live again?

@fonixi imaginyou fiting and facing everything for a reason.. and at the end you descover you were used.. you descover that the one you love can't come back to you.. and you can't get to her cuz you're imortal... living without a reason to live...not able to die... condened to live, wanting to die... it's a beautifull sad story

@fonixi To answer in order of your asking.
1.Satan is Lucifier after he's cast out of heaven. He was created by God himself.
2. He used the ritual the other lords of shadow used, his good half asended to heaven, while his dark side AKA Dracula remained here.
3.Zobak didn't die, he was possesed by satan and used as a shell. It seems he was living among the human population when he found Gabe.
These are theroies based on the ending of the game and gameplay.

@HellsGladiator I'm in the understanding when God forgave Gabriel it split his persona and after his human self died, Dracul remained. It would be tragic to see him fall from grace so quickly after saving the world. Hopefully the second game will clear some of this up. This was my action GOTY.

God did "not " forgive him yet.
He was basically brought back to life to repent. HIS CURSE OF IMMORTALITY is a way of repenting for the sins he commuted.
Marie pretty much spells it out in this cutscene , geez.
Gabriel is not partial or lord of shadow. He, as a whole, is bound to earth, unable to die(unlike lords of shadow).

@FeuerFremder I see where you are coming from but he died battling Satan and was given his life back. If he were damned he would have been a vampire after Marie's soul left to heaven. When that light enveloped him did you not see those black wings sprout from his back? It is for that reason I think he was split. This is all open to interpretation so I don't see how I'm "wrong".

Vampyrism would not be part of his immortality. It could have been a lot of things - him using devil mask, him getting bitten by laura, him having two lord of shadow dominions under his control and so on.
AS for the light stuff:
1. Its just his "uber archangel powers" leaving him. For entire fight he was invincible and pretty much "empowered" by god.
2. Ascension does not make sense, because Marie talked to him AFTER all that happened and her speech negates this possibility.

Thanks for the ending because this last battle is ridiculiously hard, I can't get past the mid-air fist fight. Game was great until that point, everytime I hit him the first time, but the second time he always kills my ass. Why make this part so hard.

@SktMew I finally beat Satan, I think drinking while playing the game offset my reaction time. I am just starting the paladin setting now and ready to tear some shit up. Love this game

Trust me i seen the Ending part 2....... Great game....great story...... I just wonder what the deal is with Gabriel..........I agree...Gabriel isnt human....HE A BEAST ... lol.. Killing everyone in his path.....................Remember Carmilla said she could sense the living ....... She couldnt since Gabriel.. so i take it ..he has been dead...I need to watch that part over again..

i used to think Dracu represented Gabriel's dark side after his good half had ascended into heaven. But now I am thinking maybe Gabriel never died, he simply evolved into Dracu because he was constantly haunted by his love for Marie and he was disappointed at God's arrangement.

@DeadlyKings You just need to read the Story letter before the game. I think what i read was he could sense the living but cant sense Death and that Gabriel is more than a match against Carmila.

Even through one game, Satan is already more epic than Dracula. Unlike him, he is actually agile, unlike Dracula, who rarely ever even walks. The battle theme is epic. If only he had a second form.

Hey everyone,
When it comes to Gabriel he was pretty much a puppet. He was trying to find answers and of course his wife. In the seen of him and satan it looks like Gabriel is Good/Evil. HIs powers were evil yet he only wanted to use them for good. His wife says his heart is pure. The question I have is what is the full power of both mask the Holy Mask and the Devil Mask?? I noticed she takes the Holy mask with her!!! and the Devil Mask is left behind Gabriel. Will he wear the Devil Mask?

@DeadlyKings Well we do see Gabriel trun become Dracula at the cut-scene after the credits so that wouldn't reallt be true. Although, we could think that Gabriel's soul went to heaven and his body he left on earth became the dark-side of him witch is Dracula when he weared the Devil mask. Of course That is just my theroy of the story with him after he defeats Satan. I'm not saying thats true, but I'm just saying something happend to Gabriel that made him into Draclua.

@demonicLEMONS Gabriel isn't human any longer at this point. When Marie and the lost souls resurrected him it should have, according to Carmilla, made him into a vampire... hence why he later becomes Dracula. :)
