I don't remember if I finished the game but I rememeber I had this green nylon "PITFALL!" bookbag/napsack when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I felt like a geek wearing that thing.

Funny thing, I was always disappointed I never got to the end. After seeing this, all these years later, I guess I was disappointed over nothing. At least in the sequel he did that little jig at the end.

You were supposed to get a poloroid of your score and send it to ActiVision. In retur the would send you a sew on patch for your accoplishment. I still have on for Kaboom :D

Thanks for sharing this! Never saw the ending until now, and I am shocked to see the ending is similar as to when one runs off of time! Not even a congratulations!

I forgot -- did they give a badge out for this? (I know they used to this for getting a certain score for many of the games)

Yes, you took a photo of your TV screen then sent it to Activision and recieved a T-shirt and patch. Most all Activision games had some type of reward if you could aquire enough points or do games in a certain time limit.

Actually, you only had to get a score of 20,000 to get the badge for it. One of the middle of the line difficult ones to get.

My best friend and I sent in our photos of the end of the game. A few weeks later we were officially members of the Pitfall Harry club and got some cool patches and stuff. I still have all of it somewhere...
