best childhood memory would definitely be going to the Swartkops air show near Pretoria with my dad every year.

Was awesome to go around the museum checking out all the jets, watching all the stunts and getting to fly in the junker transport plane.

The highlight of the day was defiantly the Mirage jet they had there. It would do low flybys over the crowed ,the shear power would shake your bones, good times!

@19subnoize91: ich gab neulich einen Kumpel wiedergetroffen der mit 14 Jahre mit seiner mutter in die Staaten gegangen ist. Er ist jetzt 30 und spricht besser englisch als deutsch. Die Melodie und Betonung aber auch viele Wörter oder Zeitabgaben (früher an diesem Tag :-) ) haben sich so verändert das man garnicht merkt das er eigentlich mal deutscher war.

i grew up in Chino back when there was just a corner store and a few homes. Nothing big, just a 2 bedroom home with one street here and there. We used to terrorize the people coming in and out. Sneaking candy and ice cream. Chino hills were always great for playing hide and seek, and collecting snakes and bugs. Now its all nice homes, shopping malls, and Starbucks. It started happpening to me too..instead of thinking in german first I think in english first and then translate everything word by word which makes it sound funny. The downside of it is tho that I am not fluent in english...now I suck at german my native language and english xD
