I think Peter loved Columbo as much as the rest of us. I was privileged to attend a black-tie celebrity event for The Humane Society of the United States and when I looked around at the attendees in the audience, I locked eyes unexpectedly with Peter Falk. My thrill must have shown in my face because he immediately postured a Columbo classic and gave me a Columbo expression. I laughed, I clapped, and then I mouthed, "Thank you" to him. He smiled and gave me back a wink. I shall never forget.
