Sorry Nixon was a evil President and that is why is dead and got kicked out of office, President Bush is the greatest man and a wise world leader so dont you dare compare him to traitors like Nixon.
They were both great presidents, the only reason Nixon gets a bad rap is for the Watergate cover up. I would bet 99% of people would only be able to say that as the chief reason Nixon was a bad president. As for Bush, the unfair media coverage he recieved was just a sham. The media should be ashamed of itself for its malpractice during his presidency.
Nixon authorized the "secret war" in Cambodia. Of course it was only secret from the American public. It was no secret to the Cambodians, as about a million of them were killed directly by carpet bombing and indirectly by the destruction of their irrigation systems. And it helped the Khmer Rouge take over Cambodia (a simplification, but basically true).
@OscarLewis He did not care about the country? Look you little shit he may have made some mistakes as presisent as do all presidents but the one thing he always had was that he cared for our country and after 9/11 he took the steps to protect our country.
I read a lot of idiots saying crap but that has to be the most bullshit liberal crap i have ever heard. I don't care for Obama but I believe he cares for our country and wants the best. I wish i could give you an ear full asshole
Hail to the chief was actually written by an Englishman James Sanderson in 1810 as music for Sir Walter Scotts's verses on "The Lady of the Lake. Oh and by the way the tune for the Star Spangled banner was written in the 18th century by another Englishman John Stafford. Smith.
Much better than that commie Bill Clinton who should have been executed for his crimes of treason which was giving or selling away military secrets to China and N. Korea, which is a death penalty offense by the government of the USA, even for a former president.
Response to URhnsi34: you are actually really close on this one, but a slight correction. The President this was written for was James K. Polk and it was because he was so short that when he entered the room no one noticed him. so his wife asked that some sort of music or song be played when ever he entered a room.
'Hail to the chief' was first composed because an American President, can't remember which one, looked so common that whenever he was in a room, people didn't notice him. So, they had a marching band follow behind him and every time the president entereed a room, they played the tune, and it stuck.
Actually, if you look on Wikipedia, the contributor states it was used in 1954. the guy may be wrong, but the president at the time was Dwight D Eisenhower, not Kennedy. I could be wrong though, but you could check on Wickipedia or other better resources.
As a Republican myself, republicangamer, I have to 100% disagree with your comment. Last time I checked, the CONSTITUTION states very clearly that war must be approved by the CONGRESS, not the united nations. It disappoints me that we have people like you who think W. does no wrong.
What?!? I think you need to go to some research pal. The Congress of the United States did not approve to go to war. That's why people call it Preisdent Bush's war...stupid.
techniqly, the United States of America has not declared an official war since WWII. So by your definition, we would have to indict (Truman = Korea), (Kennedy, Johnson, Nixion = Vietnam), ( Carter = Iranian Operation), (Reagan for Grenada), (Bush for gulf), (Clinton for Bosnia). I don't one President in the last 50 years has gone without a mojar military action. Just remeber that when you want to indict Bush!
Why would I need to call out all of the other President's when I'm talking about the current "war" right now.I'm not going to refer to Harry Truman and Korea when I'm talking about George Bush and Iraq. Think about it smart ass.
well you did say you were going to indict Bush for this war, but in reality the same thing has been going on for half a century, I think you are being a tad hypocritical sir
Check your facts there pal, im no bush lover but people call it Bush's war only because he was the one who presented the "skewed" information to congress, and from there CONGRESS voted for the war.
Sorry friend, but the US turned down Bush's bill to wage war, that is when Bush went to the UN and got permission from THEM to get funding, that's why UN peacekeeping forces are in Iraq, as well as soldiers from other countries, because the point was to "reduce" terrorism.
Your response made no sense. I am a Republica, yes, and stand for Republican values, doesn't I have to support someone who calls himself a "Republican"
TeamGOP: Agreed. There are Republicans who did not support the Iraq war. Unfortunately, the resident in the White House, who was always in favor of attacking Iraq, is a staunch Republican, and the war in Iraq was sold to the American public by Republicans.
I agree as well. It is sad though, that the Republican party has come to warmongers. Maybe another party will rise up with fresh new ideas, itsead of two parties that equally have problems.
with Woodward in the news again I can see Bush channeling Nixon saying "That GD Son of a bitch Woodward" Kinda funny how history almost repeats so perfectly.
But pulling off the war in Iraq under the guise of fighting terrorism really took the cake. Dance, Monkey Boy, dance. And he has gotten away with it. Dick Nixon couldn't get away with a thing. I would have loved to have heard what he might think of the current crap. Might have given him a chuckle.
I agree that this is unfair to Nixon. At the time, Watergate looked very bad and Nixon was arrogant. But dude did not hold a candle to Bush Baby. I was also in complete wonderment when Reagan got away with Iran/Contra which I thought was much worse than Watergate.
Nixon was a prick but he ended up doing some good things like ending the draft for one. Bush is just a stupid sub moron led around the nose by evil Satan worshippers.
