@ftlptba nope i mean long ball anyone can put in a good cross im talking about when its a tight game not much oppotunity being created you pass the ball around looking for holes in defence you get your head up and as soon as there is the chance you send a long one over the other side of the feild hopefully catching the opposition doubling up defencively. It spreads the play and can create massive gaps.Gerrad does do it but huddlestone dosnt. Try paul scholes he could be compared.

Dude, have you seen him play?? other than his real madrid days, he was one of the few right midfielders who made alot of impact, without stepovers and crazy runs, hell most of his crosses were 20,30 yards away from the box.

He might not have been a good goal scorer but his passing were accurate and he had good sportsmanship.

And, also well known in europe, one of the very rare englishmen to come runner up for world player of the year.

English football compared to Italian/Spanish is almost an entirely different sport, the mentality in England is to pass the ball rather than dribble. In Spain/Italy, you dribble then pass..

By show ponies, i mean they're there for the glamor and glitz of being a popular footballer in England and rarely deliver anything solid and impressive on the field, which is why English football is so bloody boring.
