So what happens is a reduction in jobs, and the increased minimum wage that the worker recieves means nothing. And Unions have been a main cause in the lack of available jobs. Sure they will hook up their own workers, but good luck getting an available union job when their inflated wages have reduced the amount of employees.

There is only one reason and one reason only that Wal-mart does not want unions. And that would be that they would then have to pay their workers a decent living wage. Something that is completely foreign to their way of thinking: Giving employee's their fair share of profits. They only want the profits to go to the company hierachy. My wife works at a unionized grocery store, and the union is a thorn in the side of its employees. First of all, labor gets poor wages to begin with; the union dues get taken out of already low wages. If you take out the union dues, you end up with similar pay that would have been earned at a non-unionized store.

Unions are partially responsible for the downfall of the big 3, dock workers, and the steel industry. I'm sure the companies love them bc they can just throw the responsibility of caring for the employees (i.e. providing healthcare) to the unions and watch the money grow. The unions were useful back in the early industrialization era bc ppl were beaten and worked 15 hour shifts in 105+ degree weather but that's all over and so should be the unions.

@SanguineBullet667 Minimum wages do not benefit anyone. When the minimum wage gets increased in the US, the cost of living goes up in order to cover the labor costs. So what happens is a reduction in jobs, and the increased minimum wage that the worker recieves means nothing. And Unions have been a main cause in the lack of available jobs. Sure they will hook up their own workers, but good luck getting an available union job when their inflated wages have reduced the amount of employees.

They provide medical necessities to families of children who can't afford the costly health coverage for a cancerous children (most don't). There is only one reason and one reason only that Wal-mart does not want unions. And that would be that they would then have to pay their workers a decent living wage. Something that is completely foreign to their way of thinking: Giving employee's their fair share of profits. They only want the profits to go to the company hierachy. Workers are nothing but disposable assests that are to be repleted when necessary.

I believe that the unions themselves are corporations who pay themselves, who pay their executives instead of the workers. So unions are not going to give all of us universal health care. Quite the opposite. The unions will try to prevent it. Walmart is much more honest in their approach. This country needed Hillary, but the mafia managed to get rid of her. she would have given you universal health care.

You have to look at WHY unions came into being in the first place. Companies want to bring us back to the pre-union days where they can abuse their workers at will with no repercussions. I got universtal health care here in Cannuck land and it's not all it's cranked up to be. My wife works at a unionized grocery store, and the union is a thorn in the side of its employees. First of all, labor gets poor wages to begin with; the union dues get taken out of already low wages. If you take out the union dues, you end up with similar pay that would have been earned at a non-unionized store.

No politican dares to speak out against them, which I understand. I like the Walmart strategy, it works, the merchandise comes from the same sources as the merchandise at Rite Aid, Safeway, Kmart, etc, so it's not more unethical than any other store's merchandise.
