  • Very good film! :)

  • No me canso de ver esta escena!

  • the director of the film must been some where in war in his life..cos this situation reminds me many things back home in mogadisho. fpr me this is best film ive ever watched.

  • how is she? annoyed! *death-glare* 7:05

  • 1:34 just because you're a member of a rebellion against an oppressive, brutal orwellian government, doesn't mean you're not a psychotic, evil bastard.

  • It's all powerful and emotional till someone launches an RPG

  • 9:54 -Turkey?

  • You make me cry... bastard. :'(

  • Everyone stopped being animals and became human beings, if only for a few precious minutes.

  • I love how evertime someone sees the baby in this film they say "Jesus Christ" out of disbelief.

  • Fantastic detail, even down to the British Army SA80 rifle being the rifle currently in use with the Army.

  • Amazing film! Incredible sequence!

  • look like battlefield 3 and the frosbite 2 engine

  • look like half life 2

  • 4:06 Blood disappears

  • Lol at the dude at 7:48

  • @mee123104 HAHA LOL

  • @Sashadotterkletch poor bastard indeed, to see the hope he lost his life. love this movie btw, deserved an oscar for those awfully long takes.

  • It's actually 3 different shots and they frame match to stitch it into 1 :)

4:08 is one cut, I'm not sure exactly where the other is, but if I was a betting man I'd put my peso's on 2:32.

    Thumbs up!

  • "its the uprising, and they havent even seen the baby"

gonna write that on a T-shirt

  • It's amazing how they did this in one uncut shot.

  • One of the better films I've ever watched, epic stuff.

  • The British Army at its Best :D

  • I just noticed that the guy with long hair and pistol is singing "Blaydon Races". He's probably Geordie.

Hand held footage is the best ! Makes everything much more dynamic !!!

  • I like how he wears a 2012 London olympics sweatshirt

  • Little things can change the world

  • Oh.. hope it come children of men 2 or something like that

  • que pinche suerte !!!

  • I find it ironic that there are German refugees in the ghetto and yet the first soldier is using a G36C a German assault rifle...

  • @HirachieOfSociety : Russians use american Multicam uniform and Eotechs ;). World is moving forward

  • i like it how at the end they start fucking up the building even though they have their own men in there

  • @lefthandmagee

Well, those jet fighters at the end also blow the shit out of the entire refugee camp despite having their own guys in it.

  • At 4:03 the blood starts fading away! WOW

  • Lol at the guy who gets killed at 7:48 !

  • YES.

  • the silence in the darkness. the long cold silence, broken by a babes forgotten tears. then there was light once more...

  • its hard to believe this is england (where i live) just shows how far the balance between order and chaos can slip

  • ever noticed how everything gone fucked up when u let foreigners into ur country!

  • @ouwetwarrior

And what if that foriegner happened to be the only hope for Humanity to survive, like in the movie, and only your country has the ability to protect the person from the world collapsing around him/her?

  • damn... just dama

  • man i love this film. does the scenery remind anyone else of gears of war? massive nerd moment for me...

  • Story And filming are definatley amongst the best ive ever seen.

Most of this clip from the begginging until hes in the building is all one shot. Now thats brilliant.

Very Inspiring and emotional scene =[

  • Guns going off, a tank rolling along, he dives behind cover onto someone - and apologises. How British. This man is my new hero.

  • my favourite movie of all time

  • It got nominated for 3 oscars but didnt win a single one ...... which just show the blind stupidity of the Hollywood elite and why we keep being fed a diet of CGI driven rubbish.

unlikely to see a film as original as this for a long, long time.... which is a shame as there must be stories as captivating as this out there but the industry just wont 'grow a pair' and put the money behind them....

Still it is a unique, intelligent and fantastically bleak movie - reckon it good on blu ray tho

  • @randombobtoo Whoa there. I like the movie, and personally I believe it should have won best cinematography, but claiming it didn't win because of some Hollywood elitist ideology based upon extraneous use of CGI isn't very well founded. Just considering the fact that the movie did lose to some spectacular none CGI driven films; which were: The Departed (for editing & adapted screenplay) and Pan's Labyrinth (for cinematography). Both of which were pretty spectacular films, in my opinion.

  • @maslue90

    Agreed.

  • The look of shock in that soldier's face at 8:30 was powerful.

  • Looks like a normal london day to me :)

  • i love how everything stops when they hear the baby cry.

  • Oh wow, this is like David Cameron's fantasy Britain.

  • @hhwha1

lets wait and see ay ;)

  • @zaczes999

yeah i know! it can't be best scene ever! I mean it ONLY has awesome vfx, sfx, music, sound, timing, acting, directing, cinematography, action, thrill, suspense, philosophical/moral value, set design and etc and etc.

  • Follow Freeman!

    No wait, I got wrong.

  • @TheKingofnoob

Haha, same thoughts, even the costumes are similar.

  • @TheKingofnoob Epic comment is epic ;)

  • Breathtaking

  • Incredible scene.

  • idk why this scene brings me to tears

  • @boing18 because its magical, something you have never seen before in cinema

  • at 9:48 whoever shot that rocket launcher is the biggest cunt ever, haha

  • @IvanMusic18 Allah told him too!

  • @IvanMusic18: Whoever fired that at 9:48 was killed straight afterwards lol.

  • okay can somebody please explain WHY this Scene is sooo incredible or epic?? Please!

  • @StolzerSelxer This was all shot in one take.

  • @StolzerSelxer

This film, Children of Men, is set into a dystopian near future where no babies were born for 18 years. Not one on the whole planet. Society is falling apart, life no longer has much point or goal since everybody knows that mankind is doomed to extinction.

Imagine that for 18 years you live a life without point or hope. Well.... hope just returned with the birth of that baby.

  • Amazing scene. Just astonishing seeing the mise en scene and cinematography throughout this sequence. But I did find one mistake, at 7:50 on the right a man just randomly falls lol.

  • @prodrive1000 maybe he faintedxD

  • should have been at least nominated for best picture, waaay better than michael clayton for example.

  • what kind if a sick person can dislike this video?!

  • did you notice how people just die in the background from random gunfire... life is so fragile...

  • When the battle stops for those few minutes my arms always get goosebumps. You can understand the power of hearing that baby cry, and what it means to everyone in the area at that moment...even with all the blood shed that goes on.

  • They cut or paused filming the scene long enough to wipe the "blood" off the camera lens..

  • @LJD25 That was all done post-pro, if you watch the directors commentary on the DVD.

  • @MattWensley1992

Thank you for the information. I had the DVD but did not listen to the director's commentary. I should have.

    GREAT movie and very prophetic.

  • @LJD25 No problem. I thought it was a great effect, but apparently the producers thought it would get distracting, so edited out somewhat.

It is great! I want to watch this film again! Now! Even though I'm at work!

  • After 18 years... things have a point again. Very powerful scene.

  • 6:51 we wont be seeing him again! great film, and a really well design and executed cut!

  • this scene is so powerful. when i first watched me mouth was hanging open on how much emotion in symbolism was thrown in such an insane and chaotic part of a frankly outstanding movie

  • This actually made me want to cry

  • 1 of the best war scenes ever

  • Is this one continuous scene..

    G*D D*MN that's good directing/acting.

  • That would suck if Clive owen had sneezed half way through the scene,

  • thats how the british army should be today, not killing civilians...

    equipment and that, camo, vehicals.

  • i love how in this scene, basicly 3quarters of the recurring characters with medium to smaller roles die in a matter of minutes. imagine that, one minute you fighting for your life, the next your killed by a bombshell

  • awsome scene!

  • Haven't you notice throughout the whole movie. Clive Owen's character never picked up a gun. Guns were literally everywhere but he didn't pick one up.

If you ask me that's a good hero. Great character.

  • @warnation101 true story..

ever watch band of brothers? well.. Winters DID shoot a few guys, he told his leader he didn't fire a shot.

  • Superb scene! Love this movie. My favorite movie of all time.

P.S. the first cut of this scene is at 6:04

  • @warnation101 i know! incredible eh!!

  • Yes! that has to be the best scene! Es increible!

  • This whole movie is so fucking epic. Everyone should see it.

  • Wasn't there a Russian film called "Russian Ark" where the whole film was in one long shot??

  • Fully grown man here not ashamed to admit i cried during that scene.

  • I just watched this film, and you can't help but compare the mother to the Virgin Mary, the baby to Jesus, and Clive Owen to Joseph.

The fact that the baby had the power to stop the fighting showed something divine about the child.

Living in a world where there were no children and no possibility of having one- mankind would tear itself apart

  • @bsim2010 I think most people interpret this scene the same way. I got the idea that it was the returning of Christ. The women crying/singing and the marine on his knees praying etc...

I'm glad the movie did this. Having spirtual symbolism at the end was a good twist. It was the idea of a miracle in the midst of insanity.

  • I either get goosebumps or I cry when Kee goes down the stairs with the baby and the soldiers cease fire. Such an emotional moment

  • @czajka18 Got the same thing when the soldier got down on his knees and makes the sign of the cross,

  • Holy shit, the whole time up to 6:04 is just one shot! That is just unbelivable and I think that those who also understand and love the art of film know how hard it is to attain such a perfect, one-shot-scene like that. Quaron's direction is just beyond words.

  • @guitarcenter999 No sorry, it has been prepared for 14 days and shot in about 5 hours.

  • 1:08

  • unbelievable unbelievable unbelievable!

  • this scene affected me alot. if you want to go ahead and kill someone you dont know then go ahead, but ill never respect you for it.

  • Interesting how one baby can just stop fighting like that.Altrough it resumed some time latter.

  • This scene reminded me of the cleansing of the ghetto from "Schindler's List"

I was really impressed with this movie.

  • man i like this urban warfare, really good scene of course 5/5

  • This movie changed my life

  • @patrikasLTL

    Yes, but it is necessary.

Economic collapse, machines destroying the working class, political and religous extremism worldwide.

  • Cant belive this film didnt win a single major award at the oscars. Fucking unbeliveable.

Sure "The Departed" was a good movie but come on, hollywood circlejerk at its finest.

  • couldn't agree more! this should've been best picture

  • THANK YOU DUE!!

  • brilliant film.

  • One of the great scenes in the history of cinema.

  • G36

  • @alansmithz

During such a intense emotional scene, i was shocked that you actually paid attention to a weapon used by a fucking terrorist........

  • I dare anyone to find a better scene in the history of filmmaking.

  • @makerwidow

    looks disgusting

  • His london 2012 fleece was inspiring

  • That has to be the best scene from any film EVER... Absolutely incredible!

  • @jayrave4 thats a very ignorant statement

  • requiem4neverland

    Totally agree with you.

  • awesome direction, greatest camera work and very good piece of fiction, love the point of ceasefire at 8:30.

one of greatest scene in film history.

  • hehe surrree the USA will invade the whole world, they be the most powerful, but they wouldent win against the whole world, im a hater, i have common sense...

  • this is such a wired funny fealing that really brings a smile...

i hope the world won't become like this

  • this single 10 minutes are magical. Quaron really made a masterpiece for the ages.

  • this is the first time I ever cry for watching a movie!

  • altho i aint much of an emotional person ..,but this scene makes me cry....,,,,fucking brilliant direction ,and acting........

  • the final 2 minutes one of the best film scene that i ever seen..oi its so amazing.. tearful..

  • Where IS this filmed ?

  • britain, its all based on britain, the troops everything

  • In Britain.some scenes were filmed in Woolwich,south-east London.This concentration camp,was the former-Bexhill seaside holiday town,in south-coast of England.

  • IMO the best movie scene in movie history. It moves me in so many ways.

  • Fucking brilliant movie.

  • think i dropt a tear during that scene..

  • This is my favorite movie!

  • this movie is so beautiful... one of my favorites no question...

  • this reminds me of half life 2 :D

    And wikipedia, probably.

  • i cried heh =/

  • Im cried the first time I saw it... and now... I cried again... its beautiful to know that the smallest thigs, can stop battles, Im just conmoved... Snif!

  • I cried so much that I lost all the fluids in my body and had to be hooked up to a bag of yazoo banana flavour intravenously.

  • I wouldnt consider the 1st born child in 18 years to be a "small thing"...

  • Best scene and most moving scene in any movie to date.

  • It just struck me. They have never heard or seen a baby crying. As annoying as a baby might be, not that I want to be mean, but I cannot imagine a world without them. Outstanding scene.

  • I'm glad that guy with the dreads died. He was a dick.

  • Those last minutes are phenomenal...

  • the screm of the baby is...the best part of the escene!!!

  • Gaza city

  • your city

  • this scene gives you a feeling its filmed with a home camera, its 10 minutes long and the blood spatters stay on the lens!

  • They digitally removed it frame for frame as he goes upstairs.

  • 5/5 !!!war!!!
