  • lol it's sorta like dumplings except the inside is potato and the pastry/dough thing part is different

  • Great Video! thank you for the tips

  • is the potato filling the Polish way of making them? I want to try throwing some meat in there too. Yumm...

  • thanks for the great vid!

  • brilliant video

  • yum! but HOLY SHIT the effort into making that...

    challenge accepted.

  • Thank you for sharing such an amazing recipe. Your father has amazing technique as well as tools. I am truly inspired, looking forward to trying out my own experiment with making perogies :)

  • i always thought store bought perogies were delicious. but this looks damn scrumptious.

  • Thanks for the video. I will try with my son - who looooves perogies.

  • I learned to make these for my ex-husband who was from Saskatoon. I still make them when I have lots of leftover mashed potatoes. I live in Salem,OR. My family goes nuts for these.

  • good job, thank you for not dragging it out with the painful details

  • I want some now!!

  • spaced out, man! :)

  • he needs velvetta cheese, also I dont know how he made the dough but its better if you make sour cream dough and sit in fridge over night, makes the softest perogis ever

  • i used some sheep cheese mixed with some other mild white cheese and it was great. I did not know this recipe was big enough to feed about 15 people. I used some fried bacon then mixed it with the sour cream. It was delicious. thanks for the recipe!

  • yummy. I am going to make them tonight. I am going to use sheep cheese instead of sour cream though.

  • thanks for sharing.yummy. i will try them

  • wow.. I can not wait to suprise my mom and make them .. thanks

  • nice one! from western australia.

  • im making potato and onion ones now :)

  • It's nearly 2AM and I'm seriously craving some perogies. Going to try this next time!

  • i live in shelton, wa. now i am hungry for perogies!!

  • the best way to serve these is with lots of kefir.Or even with sauerkraut.

  • Wow, this is a great video. I'm watching this from manhattan.

  • From my bumhole, love your perogies.

  • Thank you. I plan to use this technique when I make my next batch.

  • ive just learnt recently boil whole potatoes first then the peels come off real easy

  • mmmmmmmmm perogies

  • Is that water or oil you are adding to the flour and egg?

  • it is water

    :D

  • Alberta, I love perogies.

  • all wrong from start to finish!

  • @hussarus shut up arab

  • My Baba used to make them with cottage cheese. Pretty good but I preferred the cheddar. My mom taught me how to make them. Do them about once a month.

  • Great video guys! I'm from the prairies of Canada and my family is Ukrainian so we had lots of pierogies back in the day. I'm going to start making them, i can't wait. Fresh pierogies, with plenty of melted butter and cheese, fried onions and ukrainian sausage, and ranch dressing with a salad. That's practically one of the best meals I can think of.

  • that looks awesome, FORM TORONTO, CANADA!

  • i need the recipe for the dough

  • Hello from Tokyo.

I'm from Pennsylvania and miss my Mrs. T's from football games and the county fair. No... no homemade pierogis in my family. My mom and Nana were too busy making lasagna, gnocchi, and tollhouse cookies! :-)

Oh, and the cottage/cheddar cheese debate? Just potato filling for me, thank you very much.

  • ahhh why do all Americans use cheddar cheese for making pierogi? :P this is really NOT the right way to go, you should use cottage cheese. and the way you shaped them is for making ravioli, not pierogi. ;)

  • BLEH, seriously? Cottage cheese? I haven't heard that before....I can't even imagine what that tastes like.

Me personally, I don't mind any cheese as long as there is a cheese in them.

  • the movie was a little blur ... a pity for I would have loved to see a clearer view of your father. I liked the way he did it the dumpling way - saves so much time really.

    thanks

  • i make pierogies at my church all the time for fish fries and we make them the exact same way with almost the same equipment to as well

  • That's awesome. Pretty enjoyable, isn't it?

  • Green Hornets Theme

  • bless him :) he lookes like he enjoyed making them so it dosnt matter how long it might have taken. Im from Scotland btw :)

  • nice video but it shouldn't take 3 hours to make these! they can be made in under an hour and a half. the trick is to get the dough done while boiling the potatoes and it helps to have some water boiling already as soon as the perogies are folded.

  • dang!how much ingredients do you think i have?!?!?!?!

  • that why I make them every couple years

  • oh ok

  • god dam pixles
