just interesting to compare his different view of himself as a musician in 76 compared to 66 (or maybe very late 65) when it was recorded in a baroque style like Pet Sounds and Today, here he reinvents it into a 'rock' song as brian actively tried to get a deeper voice, so it is slightly intended by him to be off-key and rought, he didnt give a darn!
love his voice and this song. Thanks for posting this interview and these songs from an amazing man and his multi-talents. He has had alot of pain in his life and hopefully he is better now.
yeah, let's have him sing a song originally recorded with like 6 different vocal parts and one of the better backing bands ever solo, on piano, with a backing band that couldn't be bothered to learn anything past the basic chords. i'm sure he'll be very comfortable and sound great.
1:36 he was about to break into the falsetto and thought "nope, not gonna happen" and dropped down on the fly. nice!

Tragic really: All that musical genius constrained by an unbound mind. He looks so tightly wrapped here you just feel for him,

"Ok thank you". Only Brian can get away with leaving whenever he wants. So cool.

@madahpesojnothgual he actually did that because the stupid band of the show didn't stop when they should've.

I would assume it was Brian's choice what he played. It would be a daunting choice for sure, but he did quite well.
