  • what is the color of the walls in the backround?

  • @MrChineseskater We recommend you order a sample of the paint: Spiced Vinegar - A link to the paint is located within the description of this video.

Thank you for watching the Lowe’s YouTube Channel. –Lowe’s

  • I am a contractor too. I use a product called EzHang. It comes with 7 brackets to install interior prehungs. I can install doors in under 5 minutes each. I can even trust some of the guys without much experience to hang doors now. Give them try, you'll be surprised.

  • That looks like a lot of rooting about. Surely you could just undo the door from the hinge and screw a new one back on. They are almost all the same standard size.

  • This video is so 1980's :)

  • Great presenter, great camera work, great editing, and great graphic work. We are really impressed by this video.

  • well if i didnt punch holes in my door i would not have to do this XD

  • what a lot of pish i take dors off daily and dont need 2 go threw that.

  • I'm a carpenter and was looking around for some little tips that might help me save some time on site. I can tell you something. You don't hang doors like that. Never trace around the old door! How do you know its edges are square. In fact before power planers became so popular, most carpenters planed leading edges into doors.

  • Nico

  • wrong put ur new door into the frame mark it off the frame not off old door

  • All that because of a split second of rage.

  • @KidGloves2112

    ahh same here. -_-

  • what if you don't have the old door for marking the hinges? could i just measure from the top of the old frame to the existing frame top mortise, then measure between the other two and apply to the new door?

If I do that, how do i know how far from the edge to mark for the new hinges? Dont wanna do it wrong and end up with a lopsided alignment or bind once installed =/

  • LOL!!! All those tools!! Yea right, just did this job a few hours ago with nothing but hammers, screw driver bits, 12volt cheapo cordless drill, utility knife, angles, squares and tape measure. Sounds like a lot, but most people have these things laying around the house. It came out beautifully by the way lol

  • @ProphetOdeth Did you not notice the "Uploaded by Lowes" ??? The more tools they suggest the more money they make from this video... They didn't make this video just to be nice... :/

  • If you cut or plane the non-hinge, do not use the old door as a template for marking the lockset. It will not be the correct distance from the edge.

  • Why would you make square corners or use rounded hinges. That looks like a 1/4" Router bit would have made a perfect corner. that is a sloppy looking job.

  • The video says to take measurements to find the cut line for the bottom, why not just draw a line using the old door for the bottom?

  • Is it really that much to do? How am I supposed to buy all that crap?

  • The bottom clearance on that door must of let some draft in terrible job

  • @gibbo1973Toxteth It's an interior door. Couldnt you see that?

  • @omnipotentbeing And what you don't get drafts blowing under interior doors coming from exterior doors

  • @gibbo1973Toxteth You need to have a gap, otherwise it will drag on floor. Any gap will allown whatever draft there is in the hopuse under. All drafts should be completely stopped at the exterior doors.

  • @omnipotentbeing totaly agree with you mate all drafts must stop at exterior doors but that is not always he case and i agree their must be some gap under interior door but not a massive gap

  • @gibbo1973Toxteth True, it should be about 5 mm, their gap was a bit big.

  • my door won't close by a tiny tiny tiny bit should i just use a sand paper?

  • @napartak Just take off door and plain it gentle don't apply so much pressure

  • @napartak you probably need a new door if its just a tiny tiny tiny bit. those are the worst. if the door was only half as big as the opening, you could at least keep adding shims infinitely to it until it fit. sandpaper is just going to make a mess. i wouldn't recomend using it unless you're trying to polish something.

  • you dont need all this shit! thats just being lazy. i just use a tenon saw, chisel glue drill and thats it

  • KM GROUP - interior doors - ntriorni-vrati.eu

  • Typical doityourself video. Notice at 4:11 he's installing a 5/8"radius hinge in a square cut mortise. You'd get fired for that where I work not to mention laughed off the job. but if you live in a double wide I guess it's OK. They mak it look easy don't they??

  • @marcellinasfigaro yeah, i just commented on that. i was thinking 1/2" But whatever works. i am just about to install some interior doors in existing jambs... i bought square hinges because that was what was there. that would look real sloppy to do it this way. Novice even.

    Maybe hes mexican?

  • interiorni-vrati.eu - Интериорни врати, Блиндирани врати, Гаражни врати

  • theres a tool for that. a metal stamp that u put wherethe hinge goes and hit it with a hammer. it gives the perfect outlin and rigt depth. nd just chisel out whats left

  • How can i get a rounded edge on the hinge inset instead of a right angle? i'm thing either with a router or maybe i will do it square and then carefullt put some wood filler in the corners and round it off with sand paper to make it look professional? is this an ok way to do it? i know the pros prob do it different but im just a home diy'er

  • Nice one.

  • this has got to be the worst how to job iv seen..am i right in thinking that LOWES is a D.I.Y store ? and there allowing advertising like this man should be working on the meat counter..

  • @thebluenico You have the worst grammar and spelling I've seen. A man like you should be enrolling back in elementary school.

  • @hnp222 well thankyou i will take that info and bin it... pepole like me are better with there hands not grammer or do you have problems with people with learning difficults...dyslexic have more nuf

  • It means have a factory your self :D we use prepared doors with locks, hinges and etc. I thought USA is advanced country, but we are more advanced this way ! Now i understand why your houses crumble if anything happens :D

  • @gediminas1987 they come both ways in most places, including the US

  • You only need a truck full of tools and some brains :D

  • he chisels a square for the door hinge but uses curved corner hinges. I did this before and it looks bad. i don't think you can chisel a curved corner so you probably need a router.

  • @kevincw01 You can use curved/curved tipped chisels they work just right :P

  • @kevincw01 you can use an auger drill of the right diameter to do the corners then chisel or rout out the rest.

  • can u come over a put my door in? cuz i dont even have a door to begin with

  • fantastic,just fantastic thank you.
