  • i like very much the tradisional music and you play very good

  • OMG this is amazing!!! Well done!!!! Please perform more Irish songs! Its amazing how you could put that all together in so the 32 keys!!!!

  • Glad the Beatles squashed this nonsense.

  • Really good rhythm. Must be essential for Irish folk. Kickin' ass bro! Respect!

  • Really nice! I've tried to post my attempt of Irish music on melodica but its completely inferior to this! Amazing.

  • This is absolutely amazing!!! You play so beautifully. It took me to another place listening to you! Thank you for sharing your awesome talent. Do you play piano too? I'm a pianist who just bought this exact Melodica(LOVE it!). your fingers move so fast over the keys....how did you get that speed?! :)

  • More Melodica please?

  • this music is in dorio, im right ?

  • that's what i wanted to do, playing Irish music with a melodica!! but mine doesn't have enough keys...I am gonna have to buy a new, better one :)

  • T up from Badenia

  • hey, i was looking at getting the hohner student melodica, and was wondering whether you would recommend it as a good melodica? or would you say there are better ones to get?

    cheers

  • to kcnola06 if tin whistles are made of tin then what are fog horns made of

  • that work in a session?

  • It can work in a session, except that the model I got is tuned really sharp so I don't bring it out. I could retune it by filing the reeds down, but that's a pain.

People say it sounds like a concertina, except louder. It's great for cutting through a big noisy session.

  • Now, that's what I call playing the melodica!

  • It's almost like an accordion.

  • Wow. I'm impressed. I didn't even know it was possible to make such a music on a medolica. Very good.

  • Absolutely impressive melodica playing!

  • Muy bueno!! very good!!, saludos from Argentina

  • Where do you get a tin whistle? That's the best for Irish Music? Only $15??? Where? Musician's Friend or someplace? Thanks for the response. I found the sheet music.

  • I should also add that if anyone out there wants to learn how to play Irish music, melodica isn't really the instrument to do it on. Buy a tin whistle for $15 instead.

  • @daev3000 Maybe so, but my melodica is warmly welcomed at the session that I bring it to each week. Thanks for posting this vid.

  • Dude- AMAZING! I just bought the Student 32 Melodica by Hohner. What key is that played in? I love Irish music and am part Irish and would like to learn it. Where could I find out the key/notes for that jig?

  • The mode is D Dorian, which is similar to D minor. If you want to learn it, the best way to do it is to listen carefully and watch my fingers. If you want written notes, you could go to a site like JC's abc tune finder and then search for "Jenny's Welcome to Charlie".

  • find a website called The Session. they have a lot of irish music on there that you can learn easily

  • Great music! I play this reel on the fiddle and I was skeptical but you nail it. And that damn thing has a great single reed sound like a concertina. You may have cornered the market on something my friend. "King of the Irish Melodica"!!

  • Haha, TO ARMS MEN! 5 STARS ALL AROUND!

  • That's a pretty low rating for a pretty legit video. 5 stars says I!

  • Thanks Zebra. Some loser gave me a 1. I recommend other people counteract this by also rating me five stars!
