  • @davidbenjeshua amen to that!

  • Wow!!! Anna ur amazing! All my births I was in so much pain I thought I'd drop dead I had epidurals/spinals for all of them lol. Couldn't do it the way Anna did!

  • Lying on her back is really the worst possible position for a woman to give birth... I'm surprised they aren't more enlightened about that. Having said that, well done and congratulations to Anna and Josh.

  • What episode is this from?

  • I think this is educational. I don't see how it's distasteful, bizarre, or inappropriate. I rather find MTV, or BET, or "Friends", or "Dr Phil", or most of TV and magazines to be distasteful, bizarre and inappropriate. Cosmopolitan is disgusting and amazingly retarded, like most other media.

    I don't even have a TV.

  • @rubyflipper

Childbirth is natural and it's just another part of our lives as human beings.

  • @wizardlover1 True. Still think it was inappropriate to air this on television. Most women do not wish to give birth to an audience. And this would be an audience of thousands and thousands of people. I thought it was distasteful, bizarre and entirely inappropriate. Period.

  • @wizardlover1 Sex is natural so is shitting and pissing... you don't need to put it on TV. It's about as rude as watching someone whip their dick out and piss on camera without even turning.

  • Did anyone see the recent birthing show where they actually blur out her legs. I understand if her crotch was showing but the way the camera was positiioned away from her, there was no way you could've seen her crotch or her ass. I don't understand why they blurred out her legs.

  • Alright. I do think she is a fine person. I just don't agree with showing private matters to the entire world. JMO. That's all.

  • You know what I find gross, that was the duggers first grandchild, but they are still having kids, one day one of the grandchildren will be old enough to babysit one of their own aunts or uncles.

  • @GlenHelenGHOfeeder I home not, I've noticed that there hasn't been anymore announcements of Michelle being pregnant so perhaps she's no longer fertile. But i wonder why some of the other Duggar children who are already at least 18-21 years of age haven't married yet. In their family, they aren't allowed to date, they pretty much arrange marriages in that family from what I've seen.

  • shes knocked up again with no 2!!!!! wonder when we can expect number 3 lol

  • I wonder how much they got paid for this episode...

  • Wow she did amazing and Josh was so supportive btw did yall know she's pregnant again? She's like 3 or 4 months now!! Can't wait till the next Duggar baby arrives!

  • @Mel29577

it's not suprise she and Josh probably go at it like rabbits, 2 months after they got married Anna was upset she wasn't knocked up

  • Birth of Josh's brothers and sisters is one thing. The birth of his own daughter is extremely special. Anna had a very good coach by her side, and experienced coach in child birthing. It wasnt jim bob and michelle expecting, it was josh and anna expecting baby #2. Sad to say she miscarried. She appeares ok, but like any other mother that miscarries a child, it sticks like glue, and you never forget.

  • My husband coached my labour and delivery as well and I thanked him as well as my midwives. I don't know what the big deal is...

  • Wow. All these people are talking smack about Anna thanking Josh for the baby. Did it ever occor to you that maybe she was thinking about something OTHER than just herself? MAYBE it's that she was thinking about the beautiful baby that she had just brought into the world & how she didn't create this beautiful life all by herself? Why do people have to take such a wonderful thing & immediately find something to criticize? Yeesh!

  • @RatPackFan88 Exactly! I was confused about the same thing, as you can see from my comment lol. I'm glad someone else agrees!

  • I'm confused as to why you all are so against Joshua. I don't mean to step on any toes, but I think they seem like a good, sweet and happy couple. Josh seems to seriously love and adore Anna, and vice versa. I'm pretty sure that she thanked him for helping her "make" Mackynzie & because she loves him. And Anna did not show any skin during her birth and as for the question of modesty, many women would have chosen to film their births and would be proud to show the world their newborn child.

  • LOL anyone else think it's HILARIOUS how once Mackynzie's born, Anna thanks Josh??? he caught the baby, but she pushed it out after carrying her for 9 months!!! :-P

  • @sprinklefriend Doesn't surprise me. She is the FIRST woman I've ever heard of who labours for hours with pain and agony, then turns and thanks the husband. Lucky Josh, given his personality, nowhere on this earth would he likely find another woman who is so timid, so afraid of her own shadow, so willing to do his every bidding. Poor Anna.

  • @rubyflipper

You are disgusting. This is a wonderful family. You people will find anything to harp about. Why is it so hard for people to have loving Christian families that they adore?

  • @langleymelissak Being a loving Christian is one thing but this family I believe is certifiably nuts.

  • @rubyflipper That's how they were raised. Joh nor Anna could really handle anybody else who wasn't raised in a similar fashion as they were.

  • @sprinklefriend yep!!!..But it figures...having watched alot of their shows now ,it does appear that the men have the final say in how many kids and when??

(And i DO like the Duggars and respect them for their values)..

I just hope Anna won`t be expected to give birth one after another ,like her MIL...

Who it`s been anounced is having #20??!! COme on!!! LArge familes ,yes ,but 20 KIDS?!!!

Her poor body can`t possibly recover from one baby..the 9 mnths and birth ,then recovery be4 the next

  • My mum had to have me and my sister at hospital because she has got type 1 diabetes. It was a good idea actually because my mum had a few complications while she was giving birth to me.I was quite small so the contractions wasn't pushing me out so the doctors had to use forceps.

  • Congrats.Anna made it look so easy!

I definately don't want kids when i'm older.

  • i believe the duggers love the attention more than the children its just disgusting

  • @grocjoe If they didnt love kids then why would they have them?obviously they do and ur just to clueless. If u dont like the show do us a favor and dont watch or comment on this thanks

  • Ugh!! too many kids

  • josh's mom still looks so young! she's really pretty

  • But cute Kids^^!

  • Oh my GOD She was 171 Month pregnant!! No other Hobbys??? oO

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL!!! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!!

  • She made it look easy! lol Blessed for sure.

  • Anna did a great job! Makenzie is so cute!

  • MarciaSmart, I know that you are mitsy1212. So you are only agreeing with yourself. Once again leave the duggars the hell alone!!! Jim Bob and Michelle have more integrity than you could ever hope to have.

  • MarciaSmart, Leave the duggars alone!!!!!

  • Wow that is just so incredible. I didn't realize they did a home birth wow! Especially that he delivered his own baby I think she is about 21 or so

  • freakin' creepy family - such fame whores...yuck.. so much for being 'christian'...

  • Yep, pretty much. And poor baby Mackynzie is an afterthought for grandparents Michelle & Jim Bob because they won't quit screwing & spewing out babies themselves. The limelight HAS to be on Michelle. I'm sure Anna has some opinions about her mother-in-law but won't voice them aloud. Michelle's pregnancy addiction is beyond bizarre.

  • Mitsy1212, Nice try MarciaSmart. You couldn't be more obvious. I see what you're doing. You've created a bunch of different screen names under which you post nasty comments about the duggars in order to make it look like other people have the same opinion when, in fact, those other people are actually you. You're so pathetic.

  • does anyone know how old she was when she gave birth?

  • God bless the Duggers! They are what this nation should have been like...love, family, respect for themselves and others. They are beautiful people.

  • What a beautiful birth. My latest baby was not how I expected it to be. The nurse delivered her, they couldnt get the iv in had to call a special team to insert it. It was not much fun. A quick delivery. I didnt even get to have her placed on my tummy. She went straight to the warmer. It was at least 20min before I got to see her. She is our eight baby. Dont know if God will bless us with anymore or not.

  • umm, sorry about that kind of disgusting comment, or for anyone who had to see it, i removed it right away.

  • she was lucky to have a safe delivery

    goodluck to her

  • I completely agree with AlbertaRose94. :)

  • The Kellers live in FL by the ocean, the Duggars live in North West Arkansas.

  • Josh's voice is so soothing, and his face and the way he breathes when the baby is born was just priceless. It's beautiful to see a man who wants to be so involved in his family.

  • It just seems their whole lives revolve around pregnancy and childbirth.

  • Very true thats all there life is babys and more babys

  • I understand what you're saying Manda. But if a baby is born with complications, the results could be disastrous.

I like the Duggards. But I think they have really become the TOO MUCH information family. Why do they assume everyone wants to see Josh's wife give birth? Isn't that a very private thing? Their so modest and yet she is giving birth on You Tube!

  • This is SO dangerous; hopefully no one will get ideas.

  • What do you think people did before doctors and hospitals? With my first two, I had a lot of the usual intervention- pitocin, epidurals- and those were my worst births. After the birth of my third- unmedicated, no intervention, my baby was more alert, and I felt GREAT. Five minutes after giving birth, I was ready to get up and get on with life. Hospital births aren't all they're cracked up to be- granted, it's nice to be there in case something *does* go wrong, but they interfere too much.

  • I think that medical intervention is a blessing from God. I mean...sure people survived without it, but the medicine made it easier and less painful.

  • ooo i no what u meen now

  • ooo so she delived in the hospital

  • still, no :P

she had the baby in her home, but she has a doula in the home with her, not a mid wife

  • she she deliever in her house with no mid wife ??

  • no, she had a doula, the woman who was teaching the birthing classes.

  • ever think that the reason you dont see the kellers around is because the kellers live in florida and the duggars (Whole family) live in arkansas not everybody is made of money and can visit all the time....you must think about these things people

  • So what. They talk about how they are going to train their children. You train dogs, not kids.

  • You DO train kids. Train is just another way of saying teach, really. You train your kids every day. You train them not to run out in front of car, to treat people respectfully, not to lie. . .if that's not training, then what is it?

  • That is just disgusting.

  • I think having a baby is a beautiful and wonderful thing. But it SHOULD be something PRIVATE. She won't wear makeup, won't wear pants. I do admire modesty; it really is refreshing. But she WILL give birth to an audience? I mean, she's not a cow!! It seems this poor young woman has no say, no voice. She always struck me as extremely SHY. I DOUBT it was her idea to birth and labour in public!

  • no, i dont think so at ALL. they're show does not exploit them. if they don't want something on t.v, it doesn't go on t.v. it WAS Anna's choice to have a baby, and have it filmed. if she didn't want it to be a public thing, then it wouldn't have. she just as easily could have told them to simply make the annoucment and be dont with it if she wanted to.

  • @ashleyandalicefan Respectfully, ashley, I don't think anna has a say over anything. Josh strikes me as very immature, and VERY domineering. As I'd mentioned, Anna is super modest, and I do admire that. I'm not as modest as she is and I would just die before I laboured and birthed a baby on television, legs up in the air! It was very distasteful. Having a baby is a PRIVATE matter, not something to be aired all round the world. Never mind ratings; it was distasteful.

  • @rubyflipper

exactly, it's one thing having your husband filming the birth,t hen you can pick and choose who sees it, but national TV is a different story

  • @rubyflipper Well I'm sure you know that no television would air this if they had no one willing to watch it.

  • @rubyflipper There were no strangers present at that birth. Everyone in the room she knew and trusted, which is exactly why she decided to birth at home. At the hospital she would have had an unfamiliar OB, unfamiliar nurses and little choice for how the birth went. She was in complete control, which is why many women choose to homebirth over hospital birth.

  • @AlbertaRose, with respect, I understand what you are saying. But a similar environment CAN be replicated even in a hospital setting. Especially with good communication with ones partner/family, and of course, physician.

I had a medically disastrous first delivery. Had we not been in a hospital, I and my child could have certainly died. Even in the hospital, the delivery was extremely complicated.

Also, at home if there is a crisis for the newborn, there are no neonatal units at home.

  • @rubyflipper My 2 nieces were born at home, cord around the neck. I had a posterior baby, 37 weeks, at home. 1 of the women in my prenatal class birthed twins at home. My friend's "Failure to proceed" in the hospital resulted in forceps/vacuum extraction. To avoid a cesearean, she birthed at home the 2nd time. The midwife's response to "FTP" was to say "reposition, don't do anything for 30 minutes". OB offices have signs "No Birth Plans or Bradley Birthing". So much for Freedom of Choice.

  • @rubyflipper not a single bit of skin was shown. didn't see so much as a bare belly shot. i'm sure she was completely covered... and it sure does make great tv! :-P

  • @rubyflipper She does wear makeup! And you cant see anything! GOSH!

  • @rubyflipper Oh, yeah, where's the modesty in giving birth to Michael on the toilet while Josh takes a nap? It also upsets me when you see Josh talk to the cameras while a very pregnant Anna carts around luggage by herself.

  • Maybe the Keller's prefer to stay out of the spotlight. Maybe they are off camera.

  • Has anyone else noticed how Anna's family has more or less ceased to exist since their marriage? It's like once Anna became a Duggar, that was it for the Keller side of the family. During her pregnancy, Anna kept talking about how she has an amazing role model in Michelle (What about her own mother?) and as you can see, none of the Kellers were at the birth - just the Duggars. I don't know, just something I noticed.

  • I was wondering about that myself. It is like the Keller side of Anna's family has ceased to exist. They seem to have disappeared.

  • Yes Anna's family was at the birth (there's quite a bit about them in the full episode)...and perhaps the Kellers do not want much media attention. After all, the show is about the Duggars. =]

  • Anna's Family was as the baby shower, they were not at the birth itself. Michelle and Janna (or is it Jessa) flew in and the taxi dropped them off at the house with about 30 min to spare.

  • @Cynthealee It's Jill

  • aww i bet he is going to be alot of help since he is the oldest of almost 19

  • Here in Australia we just had josh and anna's birthday last week. so a full episode would be good whether its from your flip cam watching tv or high quality

  • We would love to see the full episode, please :)

  • like i said, i'll try, but two things. one, it's like, an hour long, and two, it would be off me t.v, but i might be able to get a good quality one up soon!

  • The Full episode is up and it's called "18 Kids and Counting: First GrandDuggar"

  • Wow! Its so wonderful to hear the baby's cry............Congrats to Josh & Anna...

  • Not a drop of blood. amazing

  • @NCRebecca actually, when they cut the cord, you can see blood coming out of part of it... not sure if it's in this video clip or not, but it's in the episode.

    i'm just sayin'... :-P ;-)

  • @NCRebecca They edited out the placenta and the blood. But there is always blood.

  • @blueworldly No there is not always blood, sorry you're wrong.

  • Beautiful. I can no longer have children. I have 4. While it is beautiful it still hurts to know I will never feel a baby kick again.

  • full episode please

  • i can try?

  • okay its just that i live in uk and we are still on 17 kids and counting lol

  • ohh lol, that sucks, (N)

  • the same goes for Hong Kong. i don't even know anna and joshua got married.

  • lol yeah over here in the uk michelle just gave birth to jordan lol

i always wanted to visit china and im a big fan of the culture and the food

  • so are we (in australia) we just got the wedding a week ago.

  • yeah it sucks getting year old episodes over here thats why i just go on youtube

  • Me too, but the thing that really annoys me is they repeat the same episodes that we've had for the last six months over and over again. We are only just starting to get "new" episodes

  • same here they have repeating jordyns birth for the last 2 months and 17 kids and counting is still on the air
