Hmmm...I suppose you must have perfect pitch and must also be a world class singer because to criticize something of this caliber would take incredible expertise.

It's been proven. I think it's an amazing performance, don't get me wrong, it's just a little off, that's all. Unless they sing it in a different key.
A different key as compared to what ? the version you sing in church ?
more than likely they pitched it to suit their voices and the range of the tenor ...and the 18 second post at full voice by the tenor is enough for me to say...GREAT !
odd, same arrangement we sang only they switched parts around... that was the lead line that Tim was singing with the post... incredible none the less!!!!
How about keepsake how deep is the ocean if you're going to say something that's supposed to be cooler. That's tony inbetween a Bb and B because they sharped. Or cruella is a better display from Tim. Or most of the Four Voices songs with Lestor. Anything Kipp Buckner. And no need to consistently VS bash because you have a crush on Tony D
I'm not bashing VS at all. I think Tim is by far the best person in the quartet period. And if you sing baritone like me, any bari would some day want to be Tony.
Much bigger fan of Gary Lewis or Patrick Claypool. Obviously Tony was and still is extremely good. Just not my favorite. Plus I figured I would ellaborate on other cool things to watch
Wow... that was a SERIOUSLY long note that he held out at the end there! Good gracious! That was so amazing :-) I'm so glad that I found this group... I love their repertoire.

I'm used to Key of F. This is is transposed a half step down to what I'm used to. (E) Nothing bad abt this performance at all
PakezSystematicWrath 2 years ago
My church's hymnal has this song in Eb. I suppose that's wrong too?
nmoore1978 2 years ago
No such thing as a wrong key. I was just inconsiderate to transposing. My most sincere apologies
PakezSystematicWrath 2 years ago
the range of the tenor?
theres no such thing as the range of tim waurick. "the range" of noise you might hear throughout your life was modelled on tim waurick =)
sephiroth3782 1 year ago 9
@tigerman4 You talk about the "range of the tenor." You do realize that this band's tenor can hit any note humans can possibly hear, right?
DoGeeseSeeGod24 1 year ago
@tigerman4 It might have actually been arranged to suit the Gas House Gang's voices.

These guys rank up there with The Suntones, Bluegrass Student Union, and Interstate Rivals for those old enough to remember those great quartets.

You really should! You need one of two things:
1. Three other like-minded guys, OR
2. Software and equipment such as that used by bhsnerd, FineyLeee, nrbo085, and several others here on YouTube. Check out their MultiTracks!

I think one of the guys in the original "Riptide" quartet arranged it. Eric King? Rich Lewellyn?

I believe it's Joe Liles. correct me if I'm wrong.

Truly heavenly, I agree, that final chord is so tight you can feel it resonate. Amazing!!
kubbshopbass 4 years ago
It did, actually, at least with my speakers. That note hit the resonant frequency of them. That's always bizarre.
But this group is amazing.
