I see no reason why polygamy should be illegal, humans have practiced this before many times. If it's a religious practice then the government should have no say in it unless if it violates the law. If you don't agree with polygamy then don't marry more then one person.

I'm for polygamy/polyamory from a secular and anthropological viewpoint. It should be legal for everyone, not just the Mormon religion.

Yes the issue applies to religion but not entirely. The Mormons Church is free to do whatever they deem as "holy" so long as it doesn't defy any laws or rights, being a private institution and protected by 1st amendment rights and Seperation of church and state.

They're church, they're decisions.

As for the bible, I could care less.

I repeat, if you don't agree with polygamy don't practice it.

People all over practice polygamy and yes it can be abusive and destructive, same for monogamy. You have every right to disagree with the practice, I think polygamy and marriage in general brings chaos and I want no part with it.

But that doesn't mean I can deny something mundane to others.

They're are a lot of things I don't agree with Mormonism. Homosexuality, family values, gender roles, racial attitudes and yes polygamy.

Many religions practice and believe in things that ether disgusts me or confuses me and everything in between, but it isn't my place to judge.

People do practice polygamy that isn't religiously motivated. If you can practice monogamy under the state, you can do that with polygamy.

The lives that these women live are of pure fear, and in the off chance that SOME of these women are TRULY happy, and not just enduring the circumstances to get into "harmony" with thier husband to ensure enter into the higher kingdom ( just to be reborn into the same shit) then good on them.
