Why did you get rid of user subscriptions on the front page? That was really useful. You replaced it with copies of already featured videos. What does that accomplish? Please put user subscriptions back on the front page.
Some videos don't have tags that are very helpful. Add a feature that lets users add tags to the videos. If enough people type the same search word for a given video, then let that word be added to the video's tags.

I don't believe "Active Sharing" is really going to be very popular. Most people probably wouldn't want the world to know what they are watching. Is there anyway I can get the featured video on my channel to play automatically when a viewer gets to the channel? I noticed a few of my subscribers such as "askthedecorator" and "askthebuilder" channel's having that option but I can't figure out how to set that up. Is that a feature that is available for regular users?
Now I have even more ideas. You could implement a system that analyzes all the ratings you give to videos, all your favorites, and all your subscriptions. The system would analyzes all of these 'preferrence-based actions' you make and use them to suggest new videos or channels based on people who've made similar actions to you, kinda like StumbleUpon.
One more thing: I remember seeing a video where someone had an idea for you to implement a character counter on your comment boxes so you know how many characters you have left in your comment so if you have a lot to write you can section it out into multiple comments easily.
Excellent way of handling the comment limit! I also like the idea of active sharing. I also seem to remember a feature where you could chat live with anyone who's watching the same video as you. Was that implemented and then removed, or just talked about but not implemented? Or maybe I just can't find the it. In any case, I think that it's a great idea. Also expanding the character limit on comments would be wonderful!
What I think you should do it fix the most viewed videos. Most of them are videos you can find on the internet. What I think you all should do is have different section. One for video from around the internet, Another section from companies, and Video from youtubers. There could be a good youtube video someone made and they would not be seen on the first page of the most viewed bc you have some internet clip. So that what you should look into!
Not sure what the point in being able to see what user is watching what video, I just hope it doesn't take too much of your bandwith or slow YT down too much.
nice work again. My only suggestion would be fix the playlist function on our channels...for some reason I can not get my video to arrange themselves in the order I selected them to be.
1.When Im showing some videos at my "video log 2", they also appear at the "favorites" section or "videos" section depending of what playlist they're on, the issue, is that I think they shouldnt appear twice because Im already showing them at "video log 2".

Hey!! Anyone out there? We need an ignore feature for the cheaters. We see someone cheating, we hit ignore, and they go away. I really like the new comment limit feature is so much better. One thing I would like to see added to Quick List is total time of all videos in your quick list. It would just be a sum of all the individual times you have for each video. That would be awesome

Yes, I agree. Apparently Youtube can block certain people from viewing your videos. I heard Youtube's bbcworldnews blocks all members from the UK, but this feature is not offered to us ordinary folks.
thats tricky - we make it now so that people you block cannot subscribe to your videos. of course, someone can always make a new empty account and subscribe to you ... its very hard to stop that kind of behavior unfortunately but we do our best
oh..I do have a problem with the "friends only videos" OR "friend's only comments"....when I am subscribed to somebody...like borindispatcher or nalts or spricket24...in my mind I think these guys are my "friends"...ant there they are on my subscription page...I visit every night to see what they are doing....and suddenly I am locked out...I get miffed...and I unsubscribe...that's just me...i have a thin skin....

It still reads "Your video is limited to 10 minutes and 100 MB" after changing to director's account. Maybe they've discontinued this feature. I'll try again tomorrow.
Director account no longer allows you to post vids over 10 mins. Only Director accounts which had been made directors prior to the change are allowed to do so.
I love these improvements. Its exciting! One word of hope, I hope Youtube will offer more background choices for creating our profile page. Also, that out profiles will have and IP address check, to keep people from creating multiple fake profiles. ~Raven

One problem with the "Organize Videos" feature: It seems to supercede the "Most Recent" videos, effectively making the title of "Most Recent" inaccurate. Could you perhaps add a new link of "Organized Videos" or "Presented Videos", or something more descriptive of what's actually being presented, and restore the "Most Recent" videos back to most recent?
Just curious. I've noticed that with the most recent update, the "Most Recent" has been changed to just "Videos". If videos are organized, they take over this display, and the most recent videos disappear. Is there any way to add a "Most Recent" link back in, in the condition that organized videos are present?
There's still a problem with the comments. Sometimes I can't post because it says there's a URL or e-mail address on it even though I didn't type a URL or e-mail address. It's really really frustrating.
Thanks, its really good to see a real human that you can respond to! The only thing that still bugs me is that you cant choose the image for the vid. It REALLY is your only 'shop window'. If the image is no good, everyone just walks on by! (Mine is a good example!)
I can't find my comment on this thing!!! It said someone responded to my comment, yet it's too difficult to find. Can you just highlight our names in red or something so we can see which comment is ours, because I want to see who responded to my comment, but it's to hard to search when there are a lot, and in some videos with a few thousand to look over.
Ok found the other one, and it took me about 2 minutes of scrolling... this video has only 175 comments when this comment was made, and just think how hard it is to find your old comments with thousands to look over. Especially with spammers, haters, advertisers, and all the others these comments add up.
If you press the links called "View all 175 comments", then you can use the browser to search for your name in the page. If I remember correctly you have to press "ctrl-f".
I think there should be an additional section in my accounts that link to comments that need to be approved.
When one has more than even just a few videos on their channel that are on comment approve before post, it is a big pain to go to each video to see what comments need to be posted.
Why can't there be a section like the one where it shows new comments that have already been posted that are seen publicly?

It should be optional to get an email informing you someone commented on your video, when someone comments on your video.
Also, on the beta page, I would want to be able to see more than just three videos that the user has.

I don't believe "Active Sharing" is really going to be very popular. Most people probably wouldn't want the world to know what they are watching. Is there anyway I can get the featured video on my channel to play automatically when a viewer gets to the channel? I noticed a few of my subscribers such as "askthedecorator" and "askthebuilder" channel's having that option but I can't figure out how to set that up. Is that a feature that is available for regular users?

Now I have even more ideas. You could implement a system that analyzes all the ratings you give to videos, all your favorites, and all your subscriptions. The system would analyzes all of these 'preferrence-based actions' you make and use them to suggest new videos or channels based on people who've made similar actions to you, kinda like StumbleUpon.

One more thing: I remember seeing a video where someone had an idea for you to implement a character counter on your comment boxes so you know how many characters you have left in your comment so if you have a lot to write you can section it out into multiple comments easily.

Excellent way of handling the comment limit! I also like the idea of active sharing. I also seem to remember a feature where you could chat live with anyone who's watching the same video as you. Was that implemented and then removed, or just talked about but not implemented? Or maybe I just can't find the it. In any case, I think that it's a great idea. Also expanding the character limit on comments would be wonderful!

What I think you should do it fix the most viewed videos. Most of them are videos you can find on the internet. What I think you all should do is have different section. One for video from around the internet, Another section from companies, and Video from youtubers. There could be a good youtube video someone made and they would not be seen on the first page of the most viewed bc you have some internet clip. So that what you should look into!

Some Issue:
1.When Im showing some videos at my "video log 2", they also appear at the "favorites" section or "videos" section depending of what playlist they're on, the issue, is that I think they shouldnt appear twice because Im already showing them at "video log 2".

Hey!! Anyone out there? We need an ignore feature for the cheaters. We see someone cheating, we hit ignore, and they go away. It'd be nice if there was some way to do it by IP address so the new accounts won't show up either. The cheaters are REALLY getting on my nerves now that they've hit the most discussed.

I really like the new comment limit feature is so much better. One thing I would like to see added to Quick List is total time of all videos in your quick list. It would just be a sum of all the individual times you have for each video. That would be awesome

All of those are great new features! Especially the new ability to comment beyond the old limit. I'd like to see the audio swap improved so I can have more control over the video editing/audio timing process. Perhaps a way to download the available music into my editing software? Does this make sense tou anyone?

Yes, I agree. Apparently Youtube can block certain people from viewing your videos. I heard Youtube's bbcworldnews blocks all members from the UK, but this feature is not offered to us ordinary folks.

thats tricky - we make it now so that people you block cannot subscribe to your videos. of course, someone can always make a new empty account and subscribe to you ... its very hard to stop that kind of behavior unfortunately but we do our best

oh..I do have a problem with the "friends only videos" OR "friend's only comments"....when I am subscribed to somebody...like borindispatcher or nalts or spricket24...in my mind I think these guys are my "friends"...ant there they are on my subscription page...I visit every night to see what they are doing....and suddenly I am locked out...I get miffed...and I unsubscribe...that's just me...i have a thin skin....

It still reads "Your video is limited to 10 minutes and 100 MB" after changing to director's account. Maybe they've discontinued this feature. I'll try again tomorrow.

Director account no longer allows you to post vids over 10 mins. Only Director accounts which had been made directors prior to the change are allowed to do so.

I love these improvements. Its exciting! One word of hope, I hope Youtube will offer more background choices for creating our profile page. Also, that out profiles will have and IP address check, to keep people from creating multiple fake profiles. ~Raven

One problem with the "Organize Videos" feature: It seems to supercede the "Most Recent" videos, effectively making the title of "Most Recent" inaccurate. Could you perhaps add a new link of "Organized Videos" or "Presented Videos", or something more descriptive of what's actually being presented, and restore the "Most Recent" videos back to most recent?

Just curious. I've noticed that with the most recent update, the "Most Recent" has been changed to just "Videos". If videos are organized, they take over this display, and the most recent videos disappear. Is there any way to add a "Most Recent" link back in, in the condition that organized videos are present?

There's still a problem with the comments. Sometimes I can't post because it says there's a URL or e-mail address on it even though I didn't type a URL or e-mail address. It's really really frustrating.

Thanks, its really good to see a real human that you can respond to! The only thing that still bugs me is that you cant choose the image for the vid. It REALLY is your only 'shop window'. If the image is no good, everyone just walks on by! (Mine is a good example!)

I can't find my comment on this thing!!! It said someone responded to my comment, yet it's too difficult to find. Can you just highlight our names in red or something so we can see which comment is ours, because I want to see who responded to my comment, but it's to hard to search when there are a lot, and in some videos with a few thousand to look over.

Ok found the other one, and it took me about 2 minutes of scrolling... this video has only 175 comments when this comment was made, and just think how hard it is to find your old comments with thousands to look over. Especially with spammers, haters, advertisers, and all the others these comments add up.

If you press the links called "View all 175 comments", then you can use the browser to search for your name in the page. If I remember correctly you have to press "ctrl-f".

1) Comments don't show up at once.
2) Comments are not threaded as soon as they show up.
3) Videos don't show up on channel page at once
4) My favorites are not updated at once
5) Can't choose image to represent video.
That's what we want, these are basic things, then we should go on to more extravagent stuff.

I think there should be an additional section in my accounts that link to comments that need to be approved.
When one has more than even just a few videos on their channel that are on comment approve before post, it is a big pain to go to each video to see what comments need to be posted.
Why can't there be a section like the one where it shows new comments that have already been posted that are seen publicly?
