It's up to us to take matters in our own hands and find out what is upsetting our immune systems and help it not suppress it. If you think about it suppression is the WORST starting therapy you can do yet that's all the docs do. Your immune system is crying out for help! It's like a baby crying because it has a wet diaper and the parents just telling it to shut up without finding out WHY it's crying. That's how most of these docs treat our diseases. Example, I have been treated for years with
Here is wisdom: Autoimmune diseases don't just happen for no reason at all. Our bodies don't just break down and start attacking us w/o cause. God doesn't create junk. There is some foreign substance in the body that the immune system is trying to destroy and rightfully so. The foreign bodies lodge themselves into tissues/organs so the body attacks those things like muscles, joints, kidneys, etc. to get the invaders. Untreated viruses, heavy metals, unknown food allergies can all be causes.
toxic immune modulators for Lupus. None of them worked. Then I found a holistic doc who tested me for heavy metals and I find I have toxic levels of mercury in my system. Guess what, mercury poisoning can cause EVERY single symptom I'm having and being diagnosed as Lupus. I just started a slow chelation of the mercury so I have a ways to go. My point is there is a reason and you need to find it because you could be taking these toxic drugs making yourself worse for no reason at all.
@bookitty256 I'm glad this clip was helpful. I'm sorry your daughter had to experience this at such a young age. My mom actually has Sjogren's syndrome. It still amazes me how these diseases affect women. You can not view the entire video online but I can tell you how to obtain a copy. My office # is (773) 221-2250 or you can email me at courtneygwenn@gmail.com.
Well said..while I my family to the USA from Ireland and my daughter is adopted from China we BOTH have autoimmune diseases...and neither one of us "look sick"...I was 25 when RA begin to attack my body...My daughter was 9 when she begin having symptoms of Graves Disease...I appreeciate the wisdome of your words. Is there a place where we can watch the whole video on youtube or online?
@NicolaWyrd - I think the ignorance is so bad because people can't associate how a person should look w/an autoimmune disease. When you think of cancer you have the image of someone losing his/her hair, but that's not the case for people w/autoimmune diseases so people don't know what to think. Even when I'm in the hospital people tell me I look ok!
@Authorized77 - I am referring to African American women living in America. I financed this project myself so it was not within my budget to explore people living in Africa. I hope this helps!
@mmorrellwilson - I am so happy to know that this information is helpful. We definitely have to continue raising awareness for autoimmune diseases. Please visit my website for information on obtaining a copy of the documentary. The site is simply my name CourtneyGSmith. Thanks again ; )!!!!!
Thank you all sooooooooooooooooooooooo much for the continued support!!! The last two years have been a bit bumpy to say the least, but I'm back stronger than ever ready to continue my mission of spreading the awareness of autoimmune diseases. Definitely check out my new website; it's just my name CourtneyGSmith. Thanks again! It means a lot.
I was searching the Internet, looking for information on autoimmune diseases, and came across this video. I'm so happy that I found it. Bless you for making it. I have an autoimmune disease (Lupus) and all the things that were shared in the brief video on the response one gets from people uneducated on auto immune diseases was true. Thank you for making it and bringing awareness to so many. I will spread the word.
@ :38 (and multiple other places) - "African American women" So these are only people from Africa? Would other black people be allowed in this? What about white people in South Africa? I'm not sure exactly what she means. Can anyone help me out?
these ladies are beautiful.most people don't know that illnesses can change how you look. i hated how i looked for two years.people used to tell me i needed to stop eating too much when i ate only once a day and sometimes i would not eat for days because i felt too sick to even eat.i haven't been as sick until now.these women are my idols
i know how these ladies feel.i'm asian and have Lupus.people tell me now that i don't look like a sick person like how i did before. medication and your illness brings u down a lot and u have to try your best to be above that.
This is an intriguing video. There are some people (gracebelieverz) that just feel that they can use a positive outlet to release their built-up inner issues.
Great job CGS!!! Keep going and continue to be the beacon to all those that seek hope.
I've had a thymectomy (my sternum was cut to remove my thymus gland) so when it comes to surgery I totally understand. I agree with you that stress management is so important as well attitude in order for a person to heal properly. Peace to you as well.
Ok I understand, maybe I'm an ignant blk man after all, ha ha. I've been to major surgery over 7 times
for boils. But attitude does affect every illness in some way, stress factors can inhibit healing or bring on an outbreak. I have compassion on all. Peace
Black women hate their hair and skin color and give their daughters pink dolls over Black dolls. Their true beauty hides the SELF-LOATHING AND HATE INSIDE!!
They aren't aware that their hatred of Black men stems from her being raped by whitey for 400 years, she now craves pink skinned men
If watching a clip of women speaking about autoimmune diseases causes you to focus on hatred of black men, then you totally misunderstood the message behind the clip. The title of the documentary is "Beauty Does Lie: The Untold Stories of Autoimmune Diseases" because the women have a healthy outer appearance, but suffer from potentially debilating diseases. Are you confusing this clip with another clip?
The reason B women have highest Hiv/Aids rate is directly due to their inability to get along with their men. They keep moving on to new penises, behavior stemming from intolerance is relevant IMHO, thank you, almost ALL B woms probs r related to her attitude, u feel me baby?
People who are unfamiliar with autoimmune diseases think that they are HIV, but they aren't. The word that becomes a neon sign in their minds is immune. HIV occurs when the body is infected with the virus through external factors such as unprotected sex, sharing needles during intravenous drug use and contaminated blood given during a blood transfusion. An autoimmune disease develops when the body's own immune system begins to attack normal cells, tissues and organs within the body.

Did you even grasp the health aspect of the segment? Or did your ignorance not allow you to see the true message of the clip?
