chefs making gourmet burgers kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion. salt, pepper, garlic powder, worcestershire sauce to flavor the meat (maybe some bread crumbs to hold it together), grill to your liking and top with lettuce, tomato, mayo and ketchup. no fancy shit needed. :)

Bobby Flay is an arrogant bastard - but he's a very talented chef. The thing that bothered me in this video is that he didn't wash his hands after handling raw meat - and started making guacamole and other stuff with his non-washed hands - I know this was on stage and it was a demonstration, but I hope no-one ate that food - this was more a demonstration of how to get food poisoning.

Flay is the most over rated celebrity chef ever. Although I admit that he's had some awesome coaching in the last year or two, and now is starting to look respectable, but his earlier stuff would only impress a complete novice.
Yeah - try paying attention to the fact that he only wins when Miss "KB Network News" is one of the judges - she works for him, and has admitted to giving all of her points to him and none to the other contestant whenever she's on. When she's not one of the judges, he loses.
How often does he win on "Throwdown"? He loses about 9 times out of 10 to ordinary people, even when he's supplied with better ingredients and fully prepared, and catches them off guard.
The people that Flay goes up against in "Throwdown" are certainly NOT "the best in their field" - they are small town locals. Put Flay up against an actual hotel chef with some experience, and he'd have his head handed to him.

But Flay IS being held up as example of one of the best chefs in the world by being an Iron Chef. Look at the original Japanese series - those guys had some serious skills. Things like putting the lid on the blender so it doesn't spray everywhere, or not putting oily meat on a flame that starts a fire (2 of MANY stupid mistakes Flay has made).

The people that Flay goes up against in "Throwdown" are certainly NOT "the best in their field" - they are small town locals. Put Flay up against an actual hotel chef with some experience, and he'd have his head handed to him.

But Flay IS being held up as example of one of the best chefs in the world by being an Iron Chef. Look at the original Japanese series - those guys had some serious skills. Flay is a laughing stock among professional chefs everywhere. I'm not talking about techniques and styles - I'm talking about basic fundamental knowledge. Things like putting the lid on the blender so it doesn't spray everywhere, or not putting oily meat on a flame that starts a fire (2 of MANY stupid mistakes Flay has made).

The original chefs HAD to lose to create this series - it was all a set up. Duh. Read what Anthony Bourdain (or any other actual chef) has to say about Flay. Morimoto's original quote, "Flay is not a chef. He's a lucky amateur." All you are proving with your blind and silly support of Flay is that you think flipping burgers is cooking. There have been four actual fires in Kitchen Stadium. All four of them caused by Flay. LOL

Morimoto said it in the interview on the original Japanese Iron Chef show after Flay embarrassed himself and America by jumping on the cutting board. As for them being friends now, they are on the same TV show together. That doesn't mean Morimoto respects Flay as a chef. How could he? Regarding Flay's restaurants, Americans eat at truck stop diners, too. Flay has zero Michelin stars. There's a reason. Okay - this is over. You want to go on thinking Flay is great and looking stupid, fine with me.

Even Gordon Ramsay, who is famous for insulting everyone, praised my work no less than a month ago. What are your credentials to base ANY opinion on Flay? He's okay THESE days because he's had some intense coaching over the last few years. Ever wonder why the Food Network NEVER reruns the first couple of seasons of ICA episodes with Flay in them? About half the time his approach to the "secret ingredient" (not that it was a secret to him, incidentally) was to wrap it up in a tortilla and call it a tamale. These days - YES - I AGREE WITH YOU - NOW he makes some nice food - who wouldn't after years of coaching? The point is he didn't deserve fame.

Man, I'm never eating at any of Bobby Flays restaurants. I was watching Throw Down (the Sushi episode) and they showed a close up of his hand and it is so gross. His finger nails are really long and there is tons of dirt under his nails. Soo Nasty!!
