I have one of these SDF-1's sitting on the shelf behind me. It's pretty cool. Those Veritechs are lame, though. And man, these commercials were terrible. It's no wonder Matchbox barely sold any of these.
Matchbox couldn't use the traditional design for the Valkyrie because Hasbro co-opted it for their Jetfire toy. I guess they had to settle for the SD formers. I heard the larger VF's could swing their legs into a guardian mode.
I had Max Sterling's (the blue one shown at the end) Veritech. Indeed its funny how Matchbox's official line paled in comparison to many of the knock-offs out at the time.

Interestingly, they've transformed the main guns to the wrong orientation on the front of the cruiser mode. Or was that the very design of that toy?
