  • AWESOME VIDEO - have memories of being up there on this very same footbridge as a kid in the mid-80's before Taylor Yard permanently transformed and basically wiped away clean. Crazy to think looking at that perspective of the Deadline and Hack-Track how many years after it took to clean up all of that polluted, dirty soil.

  • I worked in Taylor Yard in the 70's and 80's. The abandonment of Taylor Yard was a result of the SP downsizing it's yard operations and rerouting the freight traffic to Colton Yards in San Bernardino, Ca. I remember when the Colton Yard was built in the mid 70's and many of us were asked to transfer seniority to that division. The closing of Taylor Yard was inevitable. I really really miss the old Taylor Yard.

  • When I was a kid, we used to drive passed this yard on the way to K mart. There was a maintance facility there that just recently closed back in 2003..
