Dear pchen442 Corruption is a way of life for the West2. We like to think it does not exist & bury it best we can. Minky is one sided, limited in her observations, full of it & making judgments via her idea of 'democracy' FACT: If China & Arab nations disappeared tomorrow USA would return to the stone age. Americans R great people but have 1 glaring weakness. They R insular & because of it look down on what they like 2 call 'foreign' countries. They R only foreign 2 USA. 2 us its home.

If you mention the word "Communism" means that you're knowledge of China is outdated. We Chinese do not regard freedom to a basic human right instead stability is. Freedom often conflicts with stability. Yes corruption is a major problem. However we tend often separate human rights abuses and corruption. You're saying that democracy can stop corruption but it's not that easy. Corruption is a way of life for China for thousands of years.
