This is not the early 2011 MacBook Pro ! I have got the real early 2011 MacBook Pro but my keyboard is not like this one cause the shift key is larger than mine ! Check it on the net and you will see that the Shift key of the early 2011 MacBook Pro is not so long, it's short and small. Am i wrong ? if you noticed it thumbs up !
Ok macbooks are expensive, but each year they upgrade them, and make them better and the price always stays the same. So in like 10 years you get an amazing laptop for a normal price :D
would you recommend the 13' for youtube video editing, music editing and mixing, photoshop, illustrator, flash and web design.. im thinking of getting a 13" i5 upgrading to 8gb and getting a 21" display. or should i go for the macbook pro 15" i5..????
Hey, I'm buying a MacBook Pro for when I go back to uni in a couple weeks. I got about £1000 to spend. Do you think I should get the base model 2011 13" (costs about £850) or get a 2009/2010 15" refurb?
I'm not sure how I feel downsizing to a 13" as I've been using 15"+ for many years.
@anil2 Neither. Get a 2010 13". Portable for school, faster with gaming. I have Windows for gaming. Gears of War, Black Ops, and Company of Heroes run maxed out 20-30 FPS. 2011 model uses Sandy Bridge design where the graphics processor is integrated into the main processor. Intension was to improve graphics performance and reduce power consumption, but the 320m on 2010 models is slightly faster with 3D gaming. Besides, Intel GPU's have always sucked. I doubt they've gotten much better.
i don't know what to buy for college im going to devry for a electronic and computer technology associate degree should i buy a mac or pc please comment back
@bimbo0293 get a low end 15" MBP (and buy it from Apple's refurbished section to shave off $250 =P) And if you really need windows, which you might not, you can always buy a copy of windows 7 and put it on boot camp with a 100 gb partition
@bimbo0293 Please Please don't go to Devry! I went there for one trimester and it was a joke. The education you'll get is worthless, and the cost is way to high. Go to a community college than transfer to a real University. You'll save thousands of dollars. Besides employers look at Devry Degrees as jokes. I worked my but off now I'm going to get my degree from California State University, Long Beach. For Profit schools like Devry are criminal go to a real University if you want to learn.
@bimbo0293 Don't make the same mistake I did by going there and wasting money. Don't take my word for it do some research. They don't care who they let in to that school. Every body that sits in their seats is money to their shareholders. Their degrees are worthless in the real world, because at Devry the degree is bought not earned. If you care about your education and the quality of you education go to a real University.
hey i have the same model but for some reason im getting 5960 as my average speed any reason why? i dont have any programs running could it be a different model?
Is this card good enough for AVCHD video editing in Final Cut Pro? I see the 11inch Macbook Air now has the option of a 1.8ghz Core i7 (8mb smart cache I think) with this graphics card (Intel 3000) and if it can do the job then happy days :)
@tldtoday Great video. Considered me subscribed. I have a question, and you seem really knowledgeable...
I'm able to get a high-end, Mid-2009, 13" MacBook Pro for $600. Everything seems fine except the battery life is a bit down, but only 125 cycles. I won't be doing anything fancy. My question is: Do you think that it's worth $600 or should I just buy the Early-2011, low-end, 13" MacBook Pro to "future proof" myself? Or instead, buy the $600, then upgrade in a year or two?
@mikelatorous to be honest, I have a powerbook G4 and I'm only just having to upgrade. Macs last for ages. Of course I could only upgrade to Leopard on my Powerbook seeing as you need an Intel chip for snow leopard (and now lion) which is something it didn't have. I don't see myself having to buy a new mac for at least 5 years, minimum, more if i'm careful and if they don't bring something revolutionary out anytime soon.
I did have to replace the battery on the powerbook a few years back, 200€.
ok I'm trying to decide between the macbook air 13" and this new macbook pro 13" The only thing is i heard the macbook air can run games better then the PRO
can you do a game FPS(frames per second) comparison on the 2 Please!!
@Freshbott2 Hi Fresh. I was coming from the 13" Core2 2.53, and was having a hard time deciding wether to go i7 13", or i7 15". After hearing all the comments on the 15" overheat issues, I'm kind of glad I went with the i7 13". One thing I miss though are the 250 and 320 HDs from Hitachi in the older models. Those things were 95% silent. The Tosh 500 in my i7 13" makes a slight whirring sound in a silent room.
So does the baseline specs, specifically the graphics of the 13" MBP edit and renders videos well? I want to get a MBP but i want to save some money and be under the $2,000 line.
@PowerPostProductions Thanks for the response! But i would like to get some editing software with it. Which one(s) do you recommend? I know the Macs come with iMovie, but i would like to have something better.
followed all the rules to enter Blue yeti Mic giveaway and hope i win because just made my new channel and started posting new videos and it would be really really great if i won that Mic because i live outside of US and it is really expensive here and i wanted to boost my sound quality in my videos.
dear tldtoday. i am so lucky that my grand mother gives me the money for the 2.3 Ghz i5 macbook pro. but i wondered if its a bad choice and i should save up the extra money for the i7
the things i am going to use my macbook for is school work, internet browsing and maybe for a little left 4 dead 2 and modern warfare 1 (because its the only games play on the laptop í have right know) i rather play on my ps3 then computer so i am not gonna buy some of the newer games
I need an honest opinion. Would the 13" mac book pro be strong enough to handle AVCHD format video and Professional DSLR photo editing and rendering, burning to a dvd?
Would you recommend this (upgraded to the 128gb SSD) or the macbook air (upgraded to 4gb of RAM). I don't have any other macs, but do have a very nice windows desktop. The extra 64gb of space does not make a huge difference to me since I can back everything up to an external HDD, I just like the SSD for speed purposes. I will mostly be taking notes and stuff on it with maybe some light gaming/video playback, and photoshop work.
I was wondering, If I max out the 13in baseline to 8 gig ram and 750 gig hardrive will it perform anywhere near the stock 1799 15 in? I'm just not sure what to get. I don't have 2,000 to work with and I don't do a ton of photos or videos and not a lot of intense gaming. What do you think?
LOL my 2006 Dell Desktop PC (XP) only got 1846 with Geekbench . The bloody 15" Quad-Core i7 has like 8 times the speed. I WANT IT BUT MY PARENTS DONT ALLOW IT :(
Jon you are a faggot homo and the mac is the shittiest computer ever. microsoft never crashes and my PC is way cheaper and better. mac is queer and tries to be like microsoft and all their shit is made in china and still rediculously priced
@AwesomeTeeVee If the base-line MacBook Pro is faster, then buy it instead of the iMac. The new 13" Pro is great in gaming and video editing. Not perfect, but it will serve you very well. REMEMBER: the screen is MUCH smaller with LESS pixels. (iMac:1920x1080 vs MBP 13":1280x800)
@tldtoday If possible I wanna ser more tests with this version and the older, tests like Photoshop actions for batch image processing and 3d render of the same project as you have done with the dual vs the quad on other movie.
@Aviator411 he was exporting a HD movie to show how fast it is, but without know The time from other computers or the length of The movie that isn't that helpfull
Hey can you please tell me if the 13" works well with an external display? like playing HD videos, multitasking and all on the external display (I am planning to get one and am afraid the the integrated graphics won't be able to keep up with a hi-res external display)
Awesome review man... I've been thinking of getting the 13" with 8gb ram.. Is this a wise choice or should i get one with 256 SSD?? Then again, that would cost about the same price as a 15".. So which should i get??
guys stop being dicks if you buy a mac you know that you cant play all the games maxedout, most of the ppl who buy a mac is for work. The ones who buy it for gaming are idiots
hey how come the graphics in my previous generation core 2 duo 2.66ghz macbook pro is better than my new core i7 2.7ghz macbook pro?? both are the 13 inch models......
@ilovmc We have PC which can be upgraded and not be limited by the OS in this Case Mac OSX has limitation to what hardware you put in it. With Windows or Linux the OS's database is updated everyday for new hardware which allows you to put new hardware in without LIMITATIONS!!! People say Mac is better..... They are wrong.... The PC can be ten times better for anything especially gaming and business.
That's sweet! The new 15-inch is nearly twice as fast in geek bench, and this little 13-inch still packs a good punch. I'm very glad I went for the 2.2GHz 15-inch though, that AMD 6750m looks awesome! Can't wait for it to arrive! :D
@tldtoday works fine with final cut pro? because i didn't found any video or information about that and i'm worried about the compatibility between intel hd 3000 and final.
i just hate it when i get viruses. i get this feeling and im starting to cry ... Why are people so DUMB AND EGO. why do u want to hack another account or pc?!?! BUY ONE GET A JOB!!! IF ONE THAT CREATES VIRUSES COMES BY AND I KNOW HES CREATING VIRUSES THEN I WOULD HAVE PUNCHED HIM AND ALMOST KILL HIM
@CSscrubs im gunna go the opposite direction lol :) i think personally i would notice more difference with an SSD than more ram - for what i will be doing anyway
its only £70 to upgrade to 8gb of ram through crucial upgrades - but tbh i shouldnt need to do this for a couple of years
This is not the early 2011 MacBook Pro ! I have got the real early 2011 MacBook Pro but my keyboard is not like this one cause the shift key is larger than mine ! Awesome review man... I've been thinking of getting the 13" with 8gb ram.. Is this a wise choice or should i get one with 256 SSD?? Then again, that would cost about the same price as a 15".. So which should i get??
r4v3nb0y 1 year ago
@r4v3nb0y If youre choosing between 8GB RAM or SSD, I would def go for SSD. But at the price you might as well get a 15"

is the intel hd graphics 3000 better than the graphics card on the last years model?

@xxdavid206xx
HD 3000 and 320M?
They roughly tie on a lot of stuff, they can both beat each other depending on what they are doing.

guys stop being dicks if you buy a mac you know that you cant play all the games maxedout, most of the ppl who buy a mac is for work. The ones who buy it for gaming are idiots

@SKILLEDxASSASSIN haha u mad now? before you complained about core 2 duo now we have i5 and i7 u mad bro?
ilovmc 1 year ago
@ilovmc We have PC which can be upgraded and not be limited by the OS in this Case Mac OSX has limitation to what hardware you put in it. With Windows or Linux the OS's database is updated everyday for new hardware which allows you to put new hardware in without LIMITATIONS!!! People say Mac is better..... They are wrong.... The PC can be ten times better for anything especially gaming and business.
SKILLEDxASSASSIN 1 year ago
@ilovmc It only took Apple 2 years after the original i7's came out.......

That's sweet! The new 15-inch is nearly twice as fast in geek bench, and this little 13-inch still packs a good punch. I'm very glad I went for the 2.2GHz 15-inch though, that AMD 6750m looks awesome! Can't wait for it to arrive! :D
MyRandomReviews 1 year ago
I agree, get the 13" and upgrade to a SSD, add more RAM and you'll have all of the performance you need in a laptop.

Does Imovie work fluently with 720p / 60 fps ?
Just want to know about it, cause i want to change for the 13,3" 2,3GHz model.
I never used Apple before, so i would be thankful for every detail.
Thank you!

Whats better to have 8 gb of ram or yo have a ssd hard dribe??
MrSpanishTech 1 year ago
@MrSpanishTech I would get the 8GB of ram, and upgrade the harddrive to a SSD later :)
CSscrubs 1 year ago
@CSscrubs im gunna go the opposite direction lol :) i think personally i would notice more difference with an SSD than more ram - for what i will be doing anyway
its only £70 to upgrade to 8gb of ram through crucial upgrades - but tbh i shouldnt need to do this for a couple of years
have you already purchased one?
george36255 1 year ago
@george36255 No I have not, but thinking of getting the 13" with i5 and 8gb of ram :) tobad they are so expensive
