One Helluvva series. Babylon 5 was an epic, dealing with the fundamental questions of Good and Evil, Right and Wrong - so was Galactica, with a budget a million times bigger, and a journey that was at once exhilarating and exhausting for the viewer. I'm amazed, and heartened, that this series was made, in the corporate, lowest-common-denominator, f***d-up "reality"-show obsessed world of TV studios today.
I thought this was so beautiful in that bittersweet way. You can tell that Kara regrets much but that she feels that its too late. She tells him that she loves him and goodbye. But it's not the end. Sam says "see on the other side" and so we know that they'll be with each other again. I bawled during this scene.
So Beautiful.. One of the saddest moments I've ever seen in a TV Show or a movie...
Too tragic that Sam couldn't wake up and reunite with his wife, and live in happiness like Helo/Athena or Baltar/Caprica6.. But I suppose it was impossible -at that point of the show, Kara Thrace WAS literally dead, resurrected to accomplish a divine mission-.
I think it was a logical ending to this wonderful character. To having him alone and sad in the new Earth had been more cruel than sending him to Sun.
I can't remember last time I cried so much for a scene. You can feel the regret that Kara feels, for not making the most when Anders was here and not appreciating how much he loved her and now it's too late. Man that's such a tragic love story :'(
Can someone tell me the context of this scene? I kind of lost interest in the series at the begining of the fourth season but I would like to know the context for this scene.
Gods I loved this scene. Awesome work from all involved, and the real life story of Katee's cancer and Trucco's injury just makes it all the more poignant...it hurts to watch it and that was the intention...kudos.
Bravo to EVERYONE involved in this project, actors, directors, composer, orchestra, crew. To all of you, bravo, you have created what is one of the greatest science fiction shows of all time. So again I say bravo.
Bear McCreary scored again with this slower version of "A Promise to Return", kind of the main theme of the tempestuous relationship between Kara and Sam. Great lines in this scene, great acting by Sackoff.
Thanks for posting this video fragment. It's such a beautiful scene. It was a brilliant idea to convert Anders into a Hybrid and disolve the boundaries of love between cylon and human.

God damn can't there be a fucking video that has both the goodbye AND the flying into the sun, without some fucking music or horrible quality?
God damn it.

I have a heart of stone but I turned to jelly at this scene. I cried. It was a Sinead O'Connor tear.

My best friend was killed when we were 11. We lived back to back, and would call over the fence to each other all the time...
See ya on the other side.
Watching this finale ripped something out of me. This one line...
