  • Ever been slammed, Gorilla? You dumbass. Andre had been slammed before by Hogan, Race and others. Greasy Italian MORON.

  • @EddieNeverSleeps Ultimate Warrior!!!

  • They should bring back those carts, to take the wrestlers to and from the ring.

  • I still get goosebumps while watching this match. It was the first truly larger than life Wrestlemania main event & the first truly huge Wrestlemania Moment with Hogan slamming Andre the Giant. Its legendary.

  • Technically the match sucked but in terms of historical significance there's none better.

  • @BlackSabbathory

allthhoug Andre was sick he did actually but up a decent match.

  • @johan861 Absolutely. Andre was a pro. Always has been, always will be.

  • r.i.p. to andre the giant & the old wwf - the true the original the one and only. out

  • Hahaha Jessie said it best. "this is just his ego manic self out there now"

    Looks at him in TNA.

  • funny moment at 3:56, you can see Jesse Ventura moving to the real american song until he looks down at his monitor and realizes he's on camera now and then straightens himself as if he does not like the song!

  • your next undertaker

  • A freakin' 15-year winning streak????!!! well then, why did they make such a big deal about Goldberg back in wcw?

  • HULK HOGAN = GOD

  • you know hulk hogans been in the ring with some of the biggest giants in wrestling and has chopped them down one by one at some point in his carrer andre was the real giant of wrestling and the closest thing we have know days is the big show hulk hogan took him down as well but big shows first match in wcw was against hulk hogan and big show known then as the giant beat him in his debute he not only beat hulk hogan but he won the heavy weight championship in wcw hulk won the belt back

  • THE ROCK,STONE COLD,TRIPLE H,CENA,ALL THESE SUPERSTARS OWE THEIR SUCCESS TO HOGAN.WITHOUT HIM,THERE IS NO THEM.AND THANK YOU TO ANDRE THE GIANT FOR LETTING HOGAN WIN AND CATAPULTING HIM INTO IMMORTALITY.I WILL NEVER FORGET.

  • @TheSupreme203

if hulk hogan wasnt there would still be a john cena and in my opinion in a real fight andre would get the upper hand by immediatly carrying hogan and slamming him down and picking up and slamin 5 times and kill him

  • @TheSupreme203 And dont forget who made Hulk Hogan...Vince McMahon. If there was no McMahon, there would never be a Hulk Hogan...

  • @DevilInTheFlesh33 but remember Terry Fnk introduced Hogan to McMahon.

  • @Okonkwo009 what does that matter?? Who cares how they met. Bottom line is, No vince McMahon, no Hulk Hogan. And Hogan HATES that fact. Thats why he wants nothing to do with Vince and the WWE anymore. His ego is too big.

  • @DevilInTheFlesh33 of course, I know.I just don't know why alot of people are against Linda McMaon running for Senate?

  • @TheSupreme203 They owe their success to allah my friend..

  • @BlackSabbathory

To be fair, Andre was doing the best he possibly could given his medical condition. He was in pain the entire match due to what caused him (and Big Show for that matter, the difference being that Show had it taken care of, Andre didn't) to be so large. Andre put on a hell of a match when you consider that. He was fighting on two fronts, Hogan and his own body. Could it have been better? Yes. Andre could have been at 100%.

  • @Dracoa79 You're 100% right. André had severe back pain and had also pain in his his knees, tibias, etc because his weight and height were taking his toll on his whole body. For the story, when Hogan bodyslammed André, he got severe back injuries as well. André accepted to loose this match because he wasn't in condition to wrestle anymore. RIP André Roussimoff

  • 5:06 absolutely iconic pose. That body slam was the defining moment in pro wrestling history. All these years later I still get a chill just watching it.

  • wwe got big show butt he still sucks.

  • @BlackSabbathory pretty much

  • Hulk Hogan is my hero. I was 7 years old in attendance of Wrestlemania III I will never forget Hulks entrance or the match or him bodyslamming Andre the Giant. I am an MMA fighter and I owe my undefeated streak to Hulk Hogan I am 56-0 and with a shot at a heavyweight title if I win I will one day thank Hulk for being my hero

  • 4:23-4:24 the guy in the gray suit to hogan's left. he looks like paulie from goodfellas.

  • he is the world strongest man. not mark henry ;)

  • It wouldn't have been Wrestlemania if Jesse didn't kayfabe about coming out of the broadcast booth to take Hogan's title...great memories!

  • Did Jesse say the first time in 15 years that Andre had been defeated? I thought the WWF billed this as Andre being undefeated.

  • @geodeuce Yes

  • @geodeuce Technically Andre lost a few times in Japan. But yes he was undefeated in his WWF career.

  • Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura were the best!

  • @TVfanfanatic I liked Monsoon with Heenan better. Just like Jesse was better with Vince.

  • Andre had been slammed plenty of times, including by Hogan years earlier

  • @NWpowerhouse85

    Shhh!

  • @linksysrouted I will not be silenced, it's been 23.5 years, it's time the public know the truth about these bogus claims!! :)

  • and the torch was passed!

  • Biggest mark out moment in WWE history, still.

  • hogan's celebration at the end is awesome.

  • i dont get why they say he was undefeated for years he lost to canek and antonio inoki

  • @jaliscoyguerrero

the same reason they make them 1 ft 5inches taller and 100pounds heavier..... they just made it up as they went along, lol..... exagerate!

  • the waekest off WCW VS NWO VS Wolfpack andre is his defend and his body, he s strong but If someone just liek pucnh him one time he is down cant do anything ,

  • i miss the good old wrestling days....

  • I'm so extremely tired of hearing people saying that Wrestling is fake .. that's not true .. Wrestling is scripted sport-entertainment ... nothing fake about wrestling it is scripted and that's the conclusion!! This match is without a doubt one of the all-time best wwf matches ever performed!! :D

  • @TheVulgarCowboy Um, the wrestlers aren't really tryingto hurt each other so much that they cannot kick out. They are also not trying to make them literally submit.

In the old days though it could get real from what I understand especially if a wrestler wasn't selling or his selling wasn't convincing. CINCH! YEOOOOOOWWW! "You're selling now!" Even today old school style wrestlers like 'Taker will potato you if you don't sell.

  • The greatest professional athlete in the world today. With a pearl harbour job on the side.WILL YOU STOP

  • in terms of technical wrestling this match couldn't hold a candle 2 matches like bret hart vs owen hart, bret vs shawn or kurt angle vs brock lesnar but in actual fact those matches couldn't hold a candle in terms of emotion and electricity 2 matches like hogan vs andre the giant, hogan vs the warrior or hollywood hogan vs the rock the thing with hogan is he used 2 bond with fans because of matches with emotion like this that hogan drew the fans in this was a epic match

  • it's weird that i loved this stuff so much when i was a kid, and hogan was my hero... but i gave up all of my love for pro wreslting when the ultimate warrior beat him. that was it for me. most kids loved the warrior, but i got a weird vibe from him.

even back then, people said it was fake. i knew santa claus was fake... but i believed in hulk hogan... and then he lost to that roided out freak... but then i found out hogan was on roids too.. and my world fell apart, so i took up smoking

  • This was when Kevin Nash was little and wanted to become a wrester, he said so in an interview that he was sumwhere in the crowd and he decided to become a wrestler and look at his history now, one of the greatest wrestlers like hulk, ric, triple h, hbk, undertaker and etc

  • actually alot of now pro wrestlers said the same thing about this match. This was the one that was the standard to compare to all others thru 2010.

  • yea

  • hogan looks so much shorter today.was he really 6'6" one time .brock lesner is 6'4" and hogan looked a half inch SHORTER then brock in 2002.

  • andre doesn't look 7'4" either.I think hes closer to 6'10" agree?

  • hogan in 1979 seemed to tower over vince mcmahon and in their fight in 2002,he only looked a few inches taller.

  • Vince Mc Mahon nowadays wouldn't even consider such a beautiful and classic match again

  • Body slamming Andre and then going for the big leg drop was the perfect finish of this match.

  • theyre go the loosers lol

  • The shot of Andre the Giant yelling at Hogan while Heenan sulks in the corner of that motorized mini ring while the crowd tosses trash at them while Hogan celebrates is the enduring moment of Wrestlemania in general for me.

  • Hulk Hogan is the best

  • Jesse - "I may have to come out of retirement and win this belt." :)

He used to say that every time Hogan won. I used to get so excited when he said that, but it never happened.

  • ventura was a chump.hogan would kick jesses butt.ventura could barely get past ivan putski

  • Modern WWE will never attain these magical heights again. Admitting wrestling was fake is like telling kids Santa Claus is fake. Everyone KNOWS that its fake, but the whole appeal is PRETENDING its real. At the time of this match, every fan could look at wrestling like a child looks at Mickey Mouse or Ronald McDonald. Today, people watch MMA because WWE has lost about 75% of its magic. Also, the attendance record for this event will never be matched due to PPV and the Internet.

  • @pipersack Actually when Kayfabe was officially broken by Vince (when he purchased an entertainment license rather than an athletic license) and began to call it sports entertainment, wrestling enjoyed success never before seen and continues until today. It's no longer the guilty pleasure. Instead of people calling them "fakes" and "conmen," they are appreciated for their skills, acting and toughness.

  • @mongoose704

I'd like to see some numbers on that. How many times has the attendance record set at Wrestlemania 3 been broken? zero. How many professional wrestling syndicated programs currently run on NATIONAL networks similar to how The Main Event used to air primetime on a Friday on NBC? zero. I agree the DOLLARS have increased, but this is not equal to popularity. The DOLLARS increase due to the spread of ppv and online events, not due to more people being interested.

  • @pipersack I think Vince purchased the entertainment license well before wrestlemania 3.

  • @pipersack I know exactly what you mean.

  • @pipersack Well WWE came darn close, especially at WrestleMania 23, in Detroit (same site as WrestleMania 3). They got 80,103. But, then again, Ford Field is, I believe, a bit smaller than the SilverDome was. Otherwise, they might have broken that record. Plus the last three WrestleMania has average at least 72,000 people.

I was there at WrestleMana 24 in my home city of Orlando, back then. 74,635....WAY above the normal capacity for football games.

  • @pipersack Funny you should mention that because WrestleMania III no longer is the Largest Indoor Event ever held that distinction belongs to the 2010 NBA All-Star Game held at Cowboys Stadium on February 14, 2010 to an audience of 108,713. The difference between the The All Star Game & WrestleMania III attendance is 15,543 people or 30713 people if it was actually 78,000 people instead of 93,173 people.

  • @Nascarking24 Thank you for correcting my post that was made BEFORE the event you are referring to occurred, genius.

  • @Nascarking24 you're an idiot.

  • @pipersack except this was a Pay Per View as well.

  • @JoshRA Wow you better get it straight that I never said it WASNT a PPV event I was saying that if you actually compare how many households had access to PPV in 1984 versus 2010 you are talking EXPONENTIALLY more potential viewers. That is like saying that there will never be a horse buggy racing event bigger than that of 1856 in Stafford England. Why? Largely because today it is impossible to find people who use horse buggies whereas in 1856 it was very common.

  • @pipersack : I wouldn't say that. WWE had not had a problem jam packing people into a stadium for Wrestlemania. They came close with Wrestlemania 23 at Ford Field in Detroit (ironically the 10 year anniversary of Wrestlemania III) with 80,103 which is the second highest gate in Wrestlemania history.

If Vince McMahon can work out a deal with Jerry Jones to hold Wrestlemania at Cowboy's Stadium they would EASILY shatter the record. The NBA All-Star game was able to get 105,000 by itself.

  • @pipersack wwe isnt fake you can think it all you want you join wwe and then you say its fake

  • @pipersack how can you beat the attendance record, when they never goto an arena big enough to beat the capacity, cause EVERY PPV event, Wrestlemania especially, is SOLD OUT! the closest they came was Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit at Ford Field with 80,103. so its not the fans that don't want to go, its the compay picking venues that causes this!!!

  • @pipersack I agree plus even though I like wrestlers like John Cena but back then wrestling was good vs evil...nowadays it's just everybody 4 themselves it's lost the fantasy appeal

  • @pipersack even though it's fake, these stunts can get seriously injure you like the choke slam. Someone i know (Tom) did a choke slam to a kid (chris) not knowing how to do it, he injured his head and now toms needs to pay for all of chris' medical bills for the rest of his life. Chris is brain damaged now btw. When you do a choke slam, the person who's falling must have his head facing towards his chest in order to minimize the chance of head bouncing around the floor. Poor Chris...

  • i got the new game that was out wrestlemania and i played the same match and hulk hogan won

  • Jesse the body could sure talk a lot of smack couldn't he

  • This is probably one of the best WrestleMania main event celebrations. Austin's @ 14 was great too.

  • Um, if any two ppl elevated Stone Cold to where he was, it was Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, not Kane or the Undertaker.

And, Austin was a MAMMOTH draw in the later 90's, up till 2003, in fact, his shit STILL sells well.

  • @NWpowerhouse85

Man whatever, Shawn Michaels is just a cock sucker, playing the role of "I've been changed" I never believe that shit.

On Bret Hart's case you're right. Bret hart should've carried the WWF after WM14. If Vince didn't do what he did to him at SS '97.

I didn't say Kane or The Undertaker elevated him. If you saw what i EXACTLY wrote, i said "It took the undertaker and Kane to supersize them to earth" meaning They was the only people that could get a good pop, other than

  • @NWpowerhouse85

The Crock and Rove Rold Reve Rustin. Hogan carried this company to an all new height. This man could wrestle, but he didn't need to because he was over that it showed in his charisma. He fought good in those big matches in WWF USA, and he fought like a PRO in Japan.

I hate it when people say Rustin and Crock are bigger than this man, because Without Hulk Hogan, the Crock and Rustin wouldn't be here to date. In the history books it'll one day erase Rustin and Crock, and

  • @NWpowerhouse85

And It'll soon say "the ONLY wrestler to show the world you can do it if you want to, Hulk Hogan is the ONLY man who could carry the World Wrestling Entertainment (Federation) to new heights, never before seen in a Wrestling Promotion. So now we'll honor this man for what he did and what's he doing now. Taking TNA to an all new height, like he did with WWF."

  • Wow...three responses. Obsession over another human being is not a healthy thing dude, especially this guy....he took steroids, did cocaine, no-showed dozens of shows in his career, was a power-hungry monger in wcw---and he was a huge reason, along with Nash and Hall, for the downfall of wcw. He also kept down other talent, and wouldn't job to anyone, because it might make him look bad.

He's a pro wrestler, he's NOT a booker, he's NOT a storyline writer, and he's NOT proven himself yet.

  • @NWpowerhouse85

WHY MUST EVERYONE BLAME HIM FOR THE DOWNFALL OF WCW?!??!!? Aol/Time Warner Merge help create the downfall of WCW... NOT THE NWO! Nwo was a Stint, fake for our entertainment! But god dammit don't blame the man for trying to make a living. Aol/Time Warner didn't want anything with Wrestling on their programming so Don't blame someone else for someone elses mistake.... just wrong

  • Um, well, you're wrong, dead wrong. WCW's profits were non-existant by the time the merger came along, and AOL looked at it that, if it's not going to make any money, they're not going to keep it afloat.

And no, the NWO Clique in the back, they were very controlling, this is well known, I don't know why you're denying it....

    Enjoy Never Never Land....

  • Only one member of NWO clique was holding power and that was Eric Bischoff. Kevin Nash Never had power until that one time.

  • @tonshaad1230

    Ok, whatever you say.

  • @NWpowerhouse85 Nash and Hall: By their own admission they cared for nothing other than their paychecks. By their own admission they destroyed others politically to further themselves. By their own admission, they didn't even care about business. Fingerpoke of doom, Nash over Goldberg, etc. The merger myth was propagated by Nash to deflect blame from himself and Hall

  • @mongoose704 Merger myth? What myth, AOL and TW merged lol, no myth about it,

you hit everything else on the head though, those two were very selfish and self-serving during their entire careers.

  • @NWpowerhouse85 The myth that the merger caused WCW's downfall. Nash likes to propagate that myth.

  • @tonshaad1230 Many factors contributed. Yes the merger really hurt WCW but as powerhouse says there were other problems. Massive guranteed contracts to talent that didn't have to work (and not just Hogan.) They paid 9 million to Bret Hart and got little to no return. Hogan and Flair were being paid a bunch but were beyond their best. No leadership, crash TV, Russo, Arquette, having David Flair go over every young talent on the roster. Plenty of blame to go around but leadership stands out.

  • @mongoose704 Say what you will about Vince, Vince has and will stand up to the egos. Hell he fired the Ultimate Warrior who was a freaking cash cow. Vince doesn't let the inmates run the asylum and backstage is fairly professional. He can conduct daily operations smoothly. WcW was unprofessional, damn near a party run by people who had no clue about the business. Bischoff all the way on up were morons when it came to daily operations.

  • @tonshaad1230

As far as TNA goes, anyway. I don't take away from what he DID do, think about it, I was, after all, watching this video of him, but he is what he is.

...and he has NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER, going out tomorrow night, and wrestling, he's closing in on 57 years old, half of his body is plastic, he doesn't have any sort of decent physique anymore, he was never a great in-ring performer, but his mobility is non-existant anymore.

  • @tonshaad1230

Now my third response to you lol.

So far, the storylines in TNA are at least attention capturing, they're not innovative, they're rather childish and goofy, but entertaining nontheless, so I'll give him a chance, and see where he goes with it.

  • no, the match also made wrestlemania what it is today.

  • hogan was just one of them guys who had awsome chrisma and got people going but he wernt much of a wrestler. as u sed andre was in alot of pain becus of the pure mass off the man but even he wasnt much of a wrestler but then when your that size you dont really need to be lool

  • hulk hogan was great

  • `Class sick!! incredible!!

  • Hulkamania forever!

  • I get goosebumps when Gorilla says "The Irresistable Force meets The Immovable Object" just awesome.

  • I cired so much when hulk hogan won!

  • so so so so so so so so so so! awesome
