I made an automatic one of these! Thanks for the original idea, Avidya! I was having a problem with the stupid lingering lava, so I made a set of pistons push some cobble over the lingering lava! It is a HUGE help and a huge time saver! You should think about doing it. I will do a diagram if you want to, because it took me about 2 hours to figure it out for myself. Pm me if you want it!

Whats the point if it takes so much time to mine it why not just go to that one lava lake you found the last time you mined and make that into obsidain by flooding the room so whenever you break it theres more and it will never burn

@mepds9 You wasted redtone making those redstone torches, so whats the difference in you just place redstone dust? Its only 4 pieces, and redstone isn't too rare, I'm sure anybody could find a redstone ore block to replace it...

@sixDUMBbeaners HAve tou tried using mods like Optifog? (Google it), I used to hover on ~35 FPS when moving (everything fancy, far distance etc.. but after I installed it I'm now on 60 All_the_time. And I haven't even maxed the "fps hightening" settings

@diggoran Obsidian is made from lava source blacks that meets water, so when the redstone meets the lava and water at the same time it might make the lava into a source block. I dont really know thats just my guess.

Redstone is required as it makes the lava turn into source blocks, so that it can be made into obsidian.

For people that love obsidian, this is a big deal. Personally, I don't care. I have a giant mine full of lava-turned-obsidian, and I had the patience to mine ten stacks of it. This is safer, but honestly, I'll be using my mine anyway.
